PS, one thing to think about in the event the Band turns out to not be covered by insurance: your seriously lower food and medicine bill will cover a great portion of a payment for your band. I am self-pay and went for it regardless, but was totally amazed at how much less I spent on groceries and at the pharmacy (even though a good portion of my meds were covered by insurance). Yesterday I began tracking my food intake online again. I think it really helps me to know how much protein and how many cals, carbs and fat I'm taking in. Right now, I'm just 8 pounds from being merely overweight! Yeehaw! Also heading to a support group meeting tonight and that always helps me. Glad you could turn Cheetos into a loss, Melissa, but I have to say, I'm afraid to try it! :-)

I haven't made these YET, but I saw this recipe in the Martha Stewart "Everyday Foods" magazine. I like that there are instructions for freezing, plus it makes a lot (for a bandster)! Downside is that she doesn't offer the nutritional information, but how bad could it be? I don't see why whole wheat flour tortillas couldn't be substituted if you want. I read at least daily and I'm glad everyone is doing so well! I went for my 4th fill yesterday. I'd felt pretty much no restriction for a while, but kept losing so I left it at that, but decided it was time to get another. I'm at about 4.4cc in a 10cc band. Today I can still gulp water, but maybe it will tighten after a while. If not, back I go! I also saw my band Dr. yesterday who was really happy with my progress. He even called me a poster child! It was a very positive visit and I basically floated home. That's all I've got for now. Oh wait! I bought a jacket today in a size XL ! ! I have it on right now because I'm so happy about that. When it's zipped it's a bit snug in the tummy, but not uncomfortable and it looks fine. I'm wearing it out to a movie this evening (I'm Not There) to show it off! I'm large framed and 5' 10" so this is huge for me! Woohoo!

Last year at this time I felt utterly hopeless. I had heard about the Band and wanted it, but saw no way my Hubby would go for it (self-pay). Then I went to a seminar in March, talked him into it and had the procedure in May. My body is completely different now and I feel SO GOOD. Yes, I skipped a few workouts and had my share of goodies over Christmas, but I'm back on track today. My only treat today is a Bailey's and coffee that I'm having right now...guilt free! All the best to every one of you in the NEW YEAR. :-)

Don't you just love the compliments?! We're heading to Texas in the morning to spend time with hubby's family. They haven't seen me since July 4th when I had just gotten my first fill. I can't wait to see the looks on their faces. They are all so very kind and I know won't miss a chance to tell me how great I look. :-) I've been looking forward to this for months already!
