Surgery date: 9/27/2012 Hw:410 Sw:387 Cw:270 Ht:5'10" This year has flown by! I have come long way and sometimes have to look at pictures to remind myself where I started. I was talking to a friend and she told me that I don't give myself enough credit, I never have even before the weight loss. When I look in the mirror I don't see what everyone else sees. Is it that way for any of you? I pick up smaller clothes and am always totally shocked when they fit. I've gone from a size 28 to an 18/20. danibecca replied to zenandnow's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Someone said that to me at work a couple of nights ago. I have quite a way to go before I am half the size I was. People just don't know what to say. Sent from my SGH-T999 using VST -
I've lost 100lbs, but since I was so heavy I don't see what everyone else sees. Some have gone as far as to say I'm skinny...I'm like ummmm ok. I have no goal weight, I'm just trying to be healthy and here! I have a long way to go but this pic a family member took of me a couple of years ago really shows how far I've come. Giiiiiiiiirl, I must admit that right after surgery I thought of all of the stuff I didn't get to eat before. It's ok tho, I don't miss any of the bad stuff. I thought that Thanksgiving was gonna be hard but nope a lot of what we had just didn't do it for me. Eating has been replaced by moving

44lbs you're doing great! I feel like i eat more now than I did before surgery. There are some days that I just don't feel like eating much, those days I'll have an extra Protein shake. For Breakfast I'll have oatmeal or cream of wheat. for lunch i usually have a small salad with half a hard boiled egg in it...yumm... I had my first salad when i went back to work and it was like eating a gourmet meal LOL for dinner i'll have either grilled chicken or fish (tilapia) i'd say a little more than an ounce and a veggie usually green Beans about 1/4 cup....not a lot but it works. I work 12 hr nights so i don't get to eat as much as i should, but I do drink Protein shakes to make sure im gettin my protein in. oh i also eat dannon greek yogurt it's pretty good and has i think 12 grams of protein in it. eat on small plates, use small utensils, take your time, and work out....at first i just walked, then after my doctor released me to go back to work i started hitting the gym again. I'm feeling pretty darn good.

danibecca posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi I'm 27 and live in Alton, IL. My surgery is scheduled for Sept. 27th (Dr. Eagon, Wash U), I'm getting a little nervous. Is there anyone in the area that is going through or has gone through this? My family and friends are suportive, but it would be nice to talk to someone who truly understands. I need a sleeve buddy! -

danibecca posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
the doctors came in bright and early this morning, as they have every morning, and said that I'm good to go today. I'm up and dressed like I get to leave right now. I have to go stay at my mom's for a while because i live in an upstairs apt. I really want to go home, but it's ok i'll get there. Ok, so since i've been able to get up and move I've been walking, and walking.....the gas just won't go anywere, that is the worst pain ever! any suggestions??? -

danibecca replied to my new self's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Praying for you all as I sit in the waiting room! Surgery @11 I'm ready. -
So, day 4 of liquids, I'm doin ok now. The first couple of days I woke up in the middle of the night hungry....not cool. 2 weeks prior to starting the liquid diet I just replaced 2 meals a day with a protein shake. I have been drinking lots of water! I have 7 days until my surgery, time sure does fly. Any sugestions on what to eat, or well drink :-) I've been having a couple of shakes, sugar free jello, sugar free popsicles, and low sodium chicken broth.

Just one week has gone by pretty quickly. I went to the surgery center for pretesting Friday, I lost 6lbs last week....wooohooo!

My surgery is three weeks away, it took this month forever to get here. Originally I was scheduled for 8/23, but had to move it because of school. I am ready....ready to walk up stairs and not be winded, ready to not be in pain after work, ready to show my son what I've got on the bball court. My aunt passed away when I was 13, leaving behind her 3 children. She was 33, I don't know what she died from exactly, but I'm sure her weight was a contributing factor. I am now 27 and I have always feared that could be me. When the scale hit 400lbs I started researching, after several failed diets of course. 9/27/12 is my day, I'm ready to be a size healthy!

That's awesome!
