sunshyneqtie replied to k9qt's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
K9qt, I hope your CT results are good. Thanks for sharing your story. It's always good to know what to look for in case of a leak. Hopefully you will be able to continue your journey soon without more complications. -
Help Me Understand ... Why The Stigma?
sunshyneqtie replied to amw157's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I told everyone, cause I am not a very private person and I know I would eventually spill the Beans. Well, not everyone. I didn't tell my in-laws. Just because I know my MIL would not stop bugging her son about it. I noticed people at work immediately analyzing everything I ate after that. "Maybe if you didn't eat this or that.... " Piss off, I say. I did notice that I only got negative reactions from the girls whom are a little chunky. (Not heavy enough for WLS). Not one negative comment from any of my thin coworkers. I found that very curious. A little sad, I must admit. -
You really look great! Thanks for posting pics. OTR: "fake it til you make it". My boss says that every time she sets a new rule that I know my department won't like. First time I've heard it outside of work.

I tried the chicken one. It was OK. With a couple spices, it will be better. Plan to purchase the unflavored as well.

"wls Is Not What God Intended..."
sunshyneqtie replied to Susan 2.0's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Just wanted to share, though its not religion related. My massage therapist said what I am doing is "overly extreme body modification". While I guess filing down your teeth so you can get tusks and dying the whites o your eyes black is acceptable. Truth is, people think whatever they want to do is acceptable, but the things others are doing is "extreme". I think other people's opinions don't matter in this decision. And I don't see how having part of your stomach out is any different than removing your appendix, gallbladder or spleen. God gave us all of them for a reason, but also made us able to live without them. Hope you are feeling better about your decision. -
Congrats! Can hardly wait to join you!

Seeking Buddies 5'2" & Under
sunshyneqtie replied to ladymacwhiz's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
5' 2.75" still counts as 5'2", right? I'm scheduled for 11-05-12. I've gained 6 lbs since I decided to do surgery. Hope to lose that and then some on the pre op diet. -

I Want To See Before & After Pics!
sunshyneqtie replied to Christina760's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
You all look great! Congrats! -
Sorry. Didn't read that all the way through. I dunno. I have not had the lap band, but I do worry that I will fail with the sleeve. Once I was sick and did not eat for 12 days and lost nothing. I worry my body will just adjust to whatever I give it. All I can do is hope and try. All the best to you!

Is it possible with your workout schedule that you need more calories than you are consuming? After years of yo yoing some of our bodies are pros at starvation mode.

I assume if they don't stop you there is no issue. What if they do stop you? Has anyone been stopped crossing the border back to the US? I got my passport because I didn't want to take the chance of dealing with any unfortunate issues on the way home.

Calcium Citrate Versus Calcium Carbonate For Post-Op Sleevers?
sunshyneqtie replied to Need-a-Sleeve's topic in Food and Nutrition
I thought it had something to do with having less acid in the stomach due to its smaller size. -
How Did You Tell Your Spouse About This Decision?
sunshyneqtie replied to DreamsOfSkinny's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I blurted it out. And then asked if he had any objections. -
I went to the post office. It came in two weeks, though they will say it can take up to six. It was cheaper than going through the online things. Some of them you need an appointment for though. I just called down the list that I googled til I found one that didn't require an appointment and went in. Some post offices do the photos too, but I went to Walgreens. Walmart does them too as does Costco. Hope that helps.

Anyone Not Tell Family Or Friends?
sunshyneqtie replied to max206's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I told everyone except my inlaws. Mother in law to be is very opinionated about everything and doesn't let stuff go, so if I tell her, she will bug her son like crazy. -
