How Long Off Work For An Office Job?
sunshyneqtie replied to makemyownluck's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh, goodness! I was told two weeks and that is all I can take off right before thanksgiving. I hope it works out ok. I mainly sit when I work, but I do have to push patients around in stretchers and whatnot. And it involves a lot of bending and pushing. Hmmmmmmm..... -
Wishing you all the best!

The Top 5 Things You Will Not Miss After Vsg
sunshyneqtie replied to SkinnyMinnie2Be's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I will not miss my "bits" (back tits)! -
My fiancé and I have the opposite roles. I work two jobs and he takes care of the house and kids. I am crazy tired when I get home, but I'm a woman. My kids are what inspires me to work so hard, and I know my man will burn out if he has todo everything all the time, so I try to take over as much as possible when I am home. Just sayin. That is a basic difference between the man and the woman being the one that stay home.

The Top 5 Things You Will Not Miss After Vsg
sunshyneqtie replied to SkinnyMinnie2Be's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I will not miss not having any pics of myself with my kids because I don't like to take them myself and my fiancé is tired of me telling him to delete them, so he doesn't take them anymore. I will not miss it taking forever to get up off the floor when I play with the Chillins. I will not miss sex with the lights off I will not miss bein the only fat girl at work listening to all the skinny chicks talk about how fat they are. I will not miss wondering how long it will be before I develop diabetes like so many in my family. -
I thought that might be it. I have one at home ( very helpful for sciatica). I call Mine a Jiggilator. I was wondering if they were allowed too. Not right after, but maybe a few months after? Wonder if it would help tone. Let me know if you get an answer.

sunshyneqtie replied to muffintop76's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Yeah, I haven't gotten anything about the post diet yet. I had to ask my coordinators about the pre op diet to get the info. I am not confident if they are right about the 5 day thing, so wil de do 14 days. Anxious to start now, but I still have Almost 8 weeks to go. -

Let's Check In November 2012 Sleevers!
sunshyneqtie replied to timetobefree's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My surgery is Nov 5th 2012. I'm 37 as well. With 2 boys ages 19 and 4.5 and 1 Girl 17 months. I got on the floor to play with my daughter the other day and could not get back up for 10 minutes (back spasms). I am so very much looking forward to carrying around less weight, hoping it will help my back. I work as an ultrasound tech, which I love, but photography ha alway been my passion. I also love biking. We have so many great bike trails here in the Seattle area, I am hoping to have the energy to get back to it. I lost 70 lbs on the HCG diet and kept it off for a year until the doc put me on BCP, then I gained 30 back in 3 months and surprise! I got pregnant! First pregnancy where I was actually Hungry all the time. I gained like crazy. Now I am back up to 247, and I am so ready not to be. My Insurance has a complete exclusion for weightloss surgery, so I am going to Mexico to have it done by Dr Garcia. I do think it's funny I work at 2 hospitals that are "bariatric centers of excellence". Both of them offer Insurance that does not cover WLS for any reason. -
Sorry I can not answer. I was just wondering what power plates are.

Does Anyone Go Back And Forth With Doubts?
sunshyneqtie replied to Optimist01's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got a car loan, so I no longer feel guilty about getting the surgery done. I was going back and forth before trying to decide to get a car with the money I had for the surgery or not. I tell you, having almost decided that I would have to put off or cancel the surgery made me want it even more. So, I am done second guessing myself. I really want to be able to play with my kids and not worry about not being able to get up off the floor without help. Also, while I don't have any of the typical comorbidities, most of my family does and I don't want to just continue on til it's my turn. My sis is only 2 years older than I with diabetes, a fib and has already had a mini stroke. I am more scared of a stroke than I am of having the surgery done, so I think I'm set. I hope you are able to decide what is the best for you. I think I won't freak out again til I get to Mexico. Of course, I still have two months to have the doubts creep back up on me! -
I like the vanilla light ones. Chocolate not so much.

Preop Diet From F. Garcia In Mexico?
sunshyneqtie replied to muffintop76's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I am scheduled with Dr Garcia Nov 5th and my coordinators said I only needed a 5 day prep. I was thinking I would do the whole 14 day prep anyway though. It can't hurt to be a little lighter before surgery. Have you guys started exercising? I was wondering if cardio or weights was more important pre surgery. People keep saying it will help with recovery. Just wondering if it was referring to strength (weights) or stamina (cardio). Likely I should do both, but I currently have nerve troubles and my right arm/leg go numb when I work out, so not sure I could get both done at the same time. -
How long is the drain left in?

Does Anyone Go Back And Forth With Doubts?
sunshyneqtie replied to Optimist01's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm in November too. I am for sure having the same problem. And now my car blew up, do I need a new car and here I have all this money from this loan in my account and I'm feeling selfish for not using it to buy a new car. But, I am the sole provider for my family of 5 and I walk around like Quasimodo. I need to fix me so I can continue to work and support my family. Tough decisions. -

Having my surgery with Dr Garcia on Nov 5th. I have only found good comments so far. My family and co workers all think I'm crazy for going to Mexico, though 1 admitted to getting some work done there and thought it was great. Hope all goes well with your surgery. Keep us posted!
