TaraInDC replied to Kristi64's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Going through the same thing now - spoke w/ my doc today and he told me to take florastar (it's a probiotic) and when you have diarrhea to take an Imodium capsule. I'm 10 days post op now. Hope you feel better soon - I don't love this part -

Hey all! Hope everyone is doing great - I'm on all liquids until Dec 5th and looking forward to soft foods. Wondering if any of you are having diarrhea? I have had it for three days now - called dr. today and he told me to take florastar and Imodium so I thought I'd share that info in case anyone else is having the same problem. Also, if you're able to eat yogurt yet, he said Activia is good for this problem as well. Down 17 since surgery. Keep up the good work everyone!

Wowza! Eating nothing on Thanksgiving when you're cooking for everyone made all of this very real! Hope you all enjoy the smells and look forward to the many many many more Thanksgivings we will all be able to enjoy.

As soon as mine got scheduled, I got super nervous and almost psyched myself out. As the day got closer, I got more and more calm. Just be positive.

Following you on instagram - keep the recipes coming!

I had my first follow up appointment today and the doctor is not happy with my fluid intake. I'm hustling today trying to get more in. I'm totally sick of jello, protein shakes, broth and crystal light but hopefully I can get everything in today.

No Urge To Eat Or Drink
TaraInDC replied to RastaSleeve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I HATE drinking my fluids. I didn't expect it to be this much work nor did I expect to have no desire to drink anything. My doctor said to focus on doing 3 oz per hour instead of 4 so that's what I'm working on. Hoping it gets better soon - for you guys too. Jello has been easier to get down than anything else. -
My incisions were also sealed with glue - it's awesome! My Doctor says it's so much easier this way.

2 days post op - heading home in an hour. Feeling great - gained 5 pounds since surgery because of all the fluids...trying not to stress.
-
Less than 24 hours out from surgery - I'm feeling good, just a little low on energy and my tummy is feeling pretty tender - but I would say its uncomfortable, not painful. Dr. said I may be able to go home today. I haven't tried drinking anything besides ice chips so hoping that goes well. Hope everyone else is doing good!

Good Luck!!! On my way to the hospital now....eeeeekkkkkkk!

I hope this is me!

There is a board of official things you should pack, but I'll tell you what I'm bringing too. Robe (I heard you'll want one to walk around the hall so you're not just walking in just your gown) Comfy clothes to go home with Meds/Vitamins Binder (I don't know if you have one, but my Dr. gave me a binder I've been carrying for this whole process - it's where I keep all my info, receipts, etc.) iPad & Charger iPhone & Charger Chapstick Protein Shake (i'm very picky so I'm bringing my own protein shakes so I don't have to eat the hospital ones) Undergarments Blanket (I'm bringing this so I can be a little more comfy sleeping in the hospital) I figure if I'm forgetting anything, the hubby can bring it by. LOL Let me know if you guys are bringing anything else. So excited!!!!

Hope everyone is enjoying their last weekend before being sleeved! Today, I packed my bag for the hospital - o.m.g.
-
I am not sure why they need it exactly, but my Vitamin D levels were low and they just wrote me a prescription for Vitamin D, so I don't think it will stop you from having the surgery.

So excited! Nerves are going away! Cannot believe its so close!!!!
-
I had my final PE-op appointments today and got prescribed all my meds. Nerves are starting to go away and excitement is starting to kick in. Only one more week to go!!! Eeeeekkkkkkkk

For me, once I hit day 4 and 5, I was over the hunger. It's mind over matter - just try and stay busy, go to sleeve earlier. I cleaned out my cupboards and my closet and went shopping for smaller clothes and it helped make me look forward and not think about the diet.

I'm on day 7 and I promise promise promise it gets easier. Hang in there.
