Awesome! Thank you both -
Do you get the B12 at your regular Dr's office or how does that work? I take daily B12 and don't feel like it's really helping me much and I will be 7 weeks out Friday..

Waiting For Approval! Cigna Help! (Nalc, feds)
Carly4HandinSD replied to kbby's topic in Insurance & Financing
I have Cigna, just an *** and I heard back in about 4 days. I know that Cigna is very tricky.... so as long as your Dr's office has all the paperwork in order you should be fine. I did a lot of research before to make sure what was needed from my insurance and even just to verify that they will approve it. I also called cigna everyday to see if I was approved. Once they told me I was I had my Dr Office call and get the approval over the phone versus waiting for them to get the info the next day.. this was because I needed to schedule a surgery date. I had one tentatively but Dr wouldn't put it in stone till insurance approved. Luckily they did and within a week of insurance approval I was able to have my surgery! Good luck -
Yes Shrimp is the best... I made an omelet with shrimp for dinner the other night after a very intense work out.. one egg and about 4 shrimp.. couldn't eat it all but it was so good... I was worried that shrimp wouldn't agree with me after surgery because I heard a lot of people can't.. but thankfully I can still eat it..

Wow - Just Added Up The Cost Of My Surgery - $81865.22
Carly4HandinSD replied to mufasas-mom's topic in Insurance & Financing
Mine was a total of $110,000 and I had just one night in the hospital and no complications what so ever in the hospital. THank goodness for my insurance I only had to pay a total of $506 out of pocket.. no matter what the price this is worth it because it is going to get all of us into the best health we can be in and really enjoy all that life has to offer. It is insane how much it can add up to! -
Wedding Rings Too Big Already!?!?
Carly4HandinSD posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Each day I put on my wedding rings I've noticed they are getting a little bigger on my fingers... well I know I have gone down at least a size because I can put my husbands wedding ring on and his is a size smaller than mine. Being that I'm sure my fingers are going to be shrinking fast, I don't want to get them sized too often. Where we got our rings they include unlimited sizing, I just don't want to compromise the rings at all from to much adjusting. Any suggestions on if there is anything out there to help my rings from falling off?? I didn't think this would happen at 5 weeks out, but hey I'm not complaining. I just don't want to look down and see that they have slipped off somewhere LoL. Any tips or suggestions would be helpful -

Wedding Rings Too Big Already!?!?
Carly4HandinSD replied to Carly4HandinSD's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hate to resize as well, especially since this is just the start of my journey, but If I have to in order to wear them I will.. either that or talk my husband into getting a new ring.. with an even bigger diamond! Yes, that would be a great present once I reach goal!! I love my ring I have now.. its funny because as I lose the weight my diamond looks bigger on my finger... it's 3/4 diamond so decent size and love that its looking even bigger!! -

Wedding Rings Too Big Already!?!?
Carly4HandinSD replied to Carly4HandinSD's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm afraid I am going to have to take mine off if the suggestions don't work. I don't want to have to.. I've only been married about a year so I think I am still very overprotective of my rings LoL. I figure when I have to get them sized maybe I will just do one at a time so I still always have a ring on my finger... -

Finally! The Stall Is Over And The Scale Is Moving! Whew!
Carly4HandinSD posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am so relieved after a 3 week stall the scale is finally moving. A little over 5 weeks out and I am now down 40 pounds... I still have A LONG ways to go, but after having a stall for 3 weeks and gaining a pound I was stressing out. I did have to see my Dr. Friday and they had to give me Water pills for the swelling in my ankles, but since I started taking them the scale is moving again. Thankfully. I did not want to go in for my 2nd month follow up and have gained weight. Stalls are frustrating and I know they are part of the process. Patience is very much needed during them. After talking with my nurse and getting some answers I felt a lot better. Sometimes I think the stress we put on ourselves during a stall can cause us to stall longer.... I hope that makes sense So I just had to share my excitement and for others that are going through it, you will get out of that first stall, even though at the time it seems like it may be never ending! Whew.. what a relief Also, today a few people at work have told me it looks like I am losing weight, only one of the people who said something to me knew I had surgery. So that made me feel good as well What a good start to a Monday!! -

Stalls can happen at any time and last for any amount of time. Mine happened at week 3 and lasted 3 weeks. -

Carly4HandinSD replied to Carly4HandinSD's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I felt just as you were thinking I was the .0001% or whatever the number may be that it isn't going to work. I had no patience and was on the scale everyday sometimes multiple times a day. I now have told myself only weight on Fridays. This way if I fluctuate during the week I may not see it as much. You will be out of the stall before you know it and screaming with joy when that scale starts to move again. Hang in there it will happen for you -
5 Weeks Out Today And Really Concerned :(
Carly4HandinSD posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey All, I just wanted to see if anyone else was having the same issue I am. Today marks 5 weeks since I've had surgery. I know we get stalls, but I haven't lost anything since week 2. The past few days my ankles have been really swollen and my stomach is growling and I am constantly feeling hungry. It's not head hunger, its I feel my stomach gurgling because I'm hungry. I've even gained a few pounds. I am not overeating, I'm getting my Protein in and liquids. I feel like any liquid I drink is being retained. I am at about 700 calories a day.. under 40 carbs.. so I am doing exactly what the Nut advised... I am going to call my Dr first thing when they open, I have am h our or so... I'm just really concerned that maybe this isn't going to work for me. I've always done the right thing and have struggled my whole life with my weight no matter what I do... Really having a tough day with this today... it's the first one since surgery Any advise would be greatly appreciated... I feel a 3 week stall shouldn't be happening this early on.. -
5 Weeks Out Today And Really Concerned :(
Carly4HandinSD replied to Carly4HandinSD's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am waiting for the nurse from my surgeon to call me back since I asked her to have my surgeon prescribe me a PPI an he said she will see what he says. I'm stumped about the ap suppressant as well, I was in shock when she said that... Now that I'm out of the shock I want to know her reasoning. Thankfully my primary dr is able to see me. I don't know if the swelling is due to my cycle.. I have PCOS and hvent had a cycle on my own. In years. Two weeks ago I got a very light one that hasn't stopped but is barley there just enough to be a pain lol. So many body changes internally right now I'm sure my body is just wondering what I've done to it! -

Carly4HandinSD replied to Carly4HandinSD's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My dr is a bariatrics specialist. I got to a clinic that specializes in it. I love my dr he is great, I don't know why they don't do a PPI. I def thought the appetite suppressant was insane..I will see what my primary says.. This is the first time I've felt like my dr is letting me down. -
5 Weeks Out Today And Really Concerned :(
Carly4HandinSD replied to Carly4HandinSD's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have an apt at 1 with my primary care... my surgeon and nurse didn't say anything about a PPI when I asked, they said maybe an appetite suppressant is needed. An appetite suppressant shouldn't be needed for me after surgery!! I'm really frustrated with them because I don't think I'm actually hungry I think i just need something to take like you all have mentioned. What everyone takes is it prescribed or can you get it over the counter? So I have my apt at 1 for the swelling, said probably will put me on a water pill. -
5 Weeks Out Today And Really Concerned :(
Carly4HandinSD replied to Carly4HandinSD's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just put a message into my dr and am waiting for a call back. I've actually been seeing a cardiologist. Prior to surgery and after, I just saw him recently. Before surgery I went through the whole 9 yards with a cardiologist, EKG, Echo, bloodwork...and then again a few weeks ago. So I will see what the Dr has to say... I think maybe part of it too is this is my first week back at work and maybe I did too much...
