I think it is Dr preference. I had one and didn't have a choice! They put it in once I was already out.. so it was just in when I woke up. They had me keep it until the next day! I had to walk around the hospital with that hanging between my legs.. not the most comfortable thing.. They took it out the next morning before I was released. They wouldn't let me leave until I was able to pee on my own. I guess sometimes being put under puts your bladder to sleep and it takes a little longer for it to wake up.. I didn't have any issues once it was taken out... was just awkward to have in and feel getting taken out...

I Want To See Before & After Pics!
Carly4HandinSD replied to Christina760's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Yes I hit a long stall at 3 weeks when my nut had me transition I had a 3 1/2 week long stall... it was very frustrating, but once it was done I lost 10 pounds in a week.. so it kind of made up for it. Just because the numbers aren't moving you are still losing inches. I haven't had a stall since and am thankful, but know I am due for one soon. -

Tdi And Fmla Paperwork Anyone?
Carly4HandinSD replied to mauimelissa's topic in Insurance & Financing
I just filled in my information, anything else that pertained to codes and anything like that my Dr. completed. I did FMLA and used Disability while I was off work. At my Dr's office there was a rep I could call and ask questions to.. so maybe call your Dr and see what they recommend. My Dr. had to sign off on my FMLA paperwork for work and they submitted my disability forms for me once I was released from the hospital. -

While the site of me in full length pictures isn't the greatest I want to be able to share my journey.. by the time I am done.. I want the reminder of what I once was.. what I will NEVER allow myself to be again. Seeing these full length pictures gives me motivation to keep going Plus on a site like this, I feel comfortable because there is no judgment, everyone has walked in my shoes in one way or another -

I have the biggest losers scale, and its is the most accurate I have ever had. I weight myself fully clothes shoes on before a dr apt. The same as they do and they are pretty much the same. Sometimes mine sayd I weight about .2 pounds more at the dr... so its good

Im not sure what the difference is... my nut said calcium carbonate and not citrate... you may want to ask yours and see if the carbonate would be ok for you..

I bought mine at costco, I got a big bag of sugar free calcium with vit D in them I take twice a day, once in the am and one in the pm.. taste like a tootsie roll... This is what my nut suggested.. http://reviews.costco.com/2070/11670042/kirkland-signature-kirkland-signature-sugar-free-calcium-chews-180-chocolate-flavored-soft-chews-reviews/reviews.htm

Carly4HandinSD posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just had my 2 month follow up and the numbers shocked me! I am down 56 pounds from day of surgery. I guess my scale at home says I weigh more than the Dr's office. That is a good thing I am feeling amazing!! I have a long way to go still.. I did a side by side comparison from the morning of surgery and from this morning and it is the first time I really am seeing a huge difference in myself! Pic is attached Grey hoodie is morning of and dress is this morning, of course you will know which one is which LoL Just had to share, when you are finally feeling this good its fun to share with others that understand!!! -

I realized that I needed to get some new clothes that fit a little better.. being that I am at the start of my journey it pains me to buy clothes that a onth or two down the line I wont be wearing.. so I do lot of clearance shopping. I went to Macy's and was finding dresses left and right that were cute! I took a few different sizes in with me to try..and I was so happy when things were too big! Everything I tried of either fit or was too big!! I have never in my life had things that were too big.. things were always too small! Dresses are my go to right now, I figure when they get a little big I can still wear them, just belt them. They won't look as bad as saggy pants! Pants are my issue still and probably will be forever. I carry my weight in the middle so have no butt or legs.. so findng pants that fit in all the right areas is next to impossible! So stoked that I found 5 dresses that fit me and the most I paid for one was 13$.. now that is a deal Just had to share somewhere that people would understand my excitement of clothes being too big

For The First Time Ever!
Carly4HandinSD replied to Carly4HandinSD's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wish there were better thrift shops where I live.. I've checked out a few and the more higher end ones don't have much in the big girl sizes.. what they do have is not what I could/would wear So for now I am doing clearance shopping which for me has turned out to work great! I won't give up on thrift stores yet! LoL. Thanks for the advice! -
Didn't Eat Today & Now Not Hungry.
Carly4HandinSD replied to doxieville's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Probably from not eating..This happened to me and my nutritionist said that is what caused it... mine recommends eating 5-6 times a day.. 3 small meals 3 small snacks about every 2-3 hours so this doesnt happen. You don't want only acid in your stomach and that will happen when you don't eat all day long -
Should I Be Freaking Out Like I Am?
Carly4HandinSD replied to Aimstergal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Give it time, I am 7 weeks out and his a 3 week stall from week 3-6 I was getting frustrated, but then it started coming off again. Stalls are normal and while I wasnt losing weight I was losing inches. After a 3 week stall it felt good even to lose a pound. I try not to weight myself everyday like I was other wise that can get to you. Hang in there, it will happen with time. -

Pasta Alternatives?
Carly4HandinSD replied to Carly4HandinSD's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You can use cauliflower for a rice substitute or even as a pizza crust. For the rice you just shred it up uncooked, I made shrimp egg fried rice with it. I just sautaued it up with veggies and added the egg and shrimp.. tastes really good and I am normally not a fan of cauliflower. You can google all kinds of recipes
