Good day to all: I've had a crappy week with this band. I've had more blockages than a sewer full of roots and the weight has stayed the same. :heh: On a happier note, I've read most of your threads with interest and I do agree with oilburner that 90% of success is about having confidence in yourself. Even though I have a lot of weight to lose, men are beginning to look and I'm realizing that it has nothing to do with my weight and a lot to do with the way I now carry myself and the way I look at the world straight in the eye. Since my main focus right now is weight loss I have no interest in dating but I can tell I could get a date or two if I wanted to and that's great news! I'm off to sunny Florida this week for 12 days of R & R - I cannot wait!

Hello Denise:I'm no expert but I've read somewhere on this site that as you lose weight your band will loosen. Perhaps this is only during the adjustment period and then it stops. I don't know how long you've been banded but I have to agree with everyone and say that you are probably too tight. As for me, I'm currently on my fourth fill and my hunger has returned with a vengeance. What's that about? I thought it would get easier. I know I'm tight because I've had a few blockages and I've regurgitated my food each and every time. Perhaps it's my Pavlov dog coming back to haunt me.

Hello neveragain. That first break-the-ice contact is the hardest. It's the same with us women so don't think you're alone. Remember practice makes perfect so keep on trying and eventually you'll find becomes easier to start conversations. Hang in there.

I love Florida - I always say it should become Canada's 11th province :biggrin1:. I come down 2-3 times a year. At the end of this month (September 28) I'm going to North Port FLA to use the Mineral Springs and, at the end of November, I'll be flying to Fort Lauderdale for a cruise. I have to drive up to Palm Beach to see my uncle prior to the cruise and perhaps we can meet for coffee somewhere. I always enjoy meeting bandsters.

Hello to all from Toronto - home to the stars for the next 10 days. First of all a great big cheer for JC who's not losing the band - I'm sure you can taste your goal weight now. And for all you gals out there....I hope you're jelaous....my date last night was GEORGE CLOONEY..... Well - sort of. Went to the priemier of his movie and then to the gala party afterwards. I was able to speak to him for 30 seconds and I'm still on cloud 9. The man is all sex appeal - he should be outlawed. I also caught a glimpse of Brad and Angelina. This is just a great time to be in Toronto with all of Hollywood here. I'll be going to the International Film Festival closing gala next weekend and I'll let you know who is thare and what happens. I might just kidnap George...

Hi Peaches9: My third fill was OK for about 2 weeks and then suddenly I could eat everything in sight again! I went for another fill last Friday (September 7) and I'm nicely restricted again. I hope this one lasts. Thanks for asking.

Hi Cindy: The software is a lot more detailed. The food database is bigger, the breakdown of foods consumed is more detailed, there is a place for your measurements, a diary, a mood log, an activity explorer and an activity log. I really like it.

Good one! Do you think we could resolve this issue by just getting a dog? Think about it, the dog will love you for life, it is always happy to see you, will not argue with you, it will never leave the toilet seat up, and when you need to vent he will just sit and watch you vent without saying a word....as for the sex part...who needs a man when you've got toys?

Doddie63 - my condolences on the loss of your brother it must be hard for you right now and I'll keep you and yours in my prayers. All - Doddie is absolutely right about Fitday. I tried the free version online for about 2 weeks and then decided to purchase the software and I now have the whole program on my computer. It is such an eye opener!! I'm averaging about 1500 cal a day and I know that it's too much but I'm not yet at full restriction and I'm still losing (Fitday says I have to consume approx 1600 cal per day to continue losing). I'm below that and working very hard to reduce it to the lapband recommended 1200 calories. I highly recommend this software. Cheers.
