  1. Thanks. I just needed immediate release and got desperate. I have docusate and taking it sometimes when nothing comes along. But this was like nothing I have ever experienced.
  2. Thank you, I feel soooooo much better. But that was so horrifying. I had to leave work and still have anxiety at how awful that experience was. I was afraid to go to the ER figuring it was not an emergency and I would wait forever. I probably needed an enema. I bought a dual PAC, but have never ever used one. I'll try supositories as well.

    Hair Loss

The hair loss is a result of why your body did moments and days after your surgery. Nutrients were taken away from the hair to help heal your wounds. Those hairs effected then are falling out now3-6 months post op. Really best thing to do is the get the protein in those first 2 days....which is nearly impossible. So next focus on making and encouraging the new hair to be the. Est it can be. Biotin, zinc, iron all help but are not miracles. I take a hair skin and nails formula and pee most of it out anyway. No brushing or special treatments will help..if the hair is in the resting phase, it will fall out whether you where a scrunchy or use Nioxin. I also add silica through bamboo supplements and a product called Biosil. I said bye-bye to the estimated 1/3 of my hair that I was prepared to lose...but I kept up with HIGH QUALITY protein and the supplements ans am happy to say that the new growth is about 3 inches. I can totally tell these new hairs as my hair pattern has changed..

    Switching Ppi

There is also nexxium esomeprazole. That is what took in the hospital after screaming of burning pains. It did the trick and I went home on Prevacid 30 mg 2 times per day. I also believe, and this is just me playing doctor to myself. That finer can help heartburn. I take a decent quantity every night of psyllium husk. 6 pills plus a glass of water. My theory is that it forms a sludge and pulls acid and bile out of the stomach and it gets excreted. Just my own little experience with myself,

    Eating Fast

6 months out and I get what I can eat fast and what needs to be slow...if I eat chicken breast fast without chewing like 46 rimes, I will vomit. In turn, I can eat end,ess amount of yogurt or cottage cheese with no problem. I think the more fibrous or dry the protein is, you really have to eat it slow. Tuna salad on crackers, I can move pretty quickly through, I dont get sick, but Ido get the gurgles for an hour
  6. 6 months out and I only follow the protein intake requirements. I eat the same as before just at much, muc lower quantities. I make lean protein a staple, but have had bites of French fries, Mac and chees, a cheeseburger, fried clams and hacpve dipped into many a celebratory cake...just about 1/10th of my usual portion, I am using the sleeve to really restrict what goes in and make wiser choices about what goes in the little room that I have, Virtually gave up on pasta because I get so full after 2 bites. But really, I think twice about my choices but do indulge in very small quantities at various times. trying to balance stellar days with ones that I wish I made better choices on,
  7. Ou hear a lot about biotin, but silica seams to be central too? I take bamboo silica and Biosil and have been quite happy.

    Old Ways Omg

6 months and my appetite is ferocious. I am hungry, real tummy hungry...24/7. I ate 6 bags of single serve pirates booty tonight. I am besides myself I wonder whether it is TOM but I can't belie e that my sleeve would expnd for TOM. I ate a whole cheese quesadilla and a big black and white cookie yesterday. Before I cold maybe 2-3 bites of that cookie, but the who,e thing went in smoothly. For those with a crumbs bake shop nearby, you know that this cookie is deadly... Trying to get back on course. Have decided that I can have. Zero snacks in the house.
  9. Really, a sip is fine. The idea is that eating and drinking fills you up too fast and pushes food through the stomach too fast. You could get an episode of dumping....really I will never try it again it was so awful. Best thing to do is sip a bit before you eat, s,all sips during meal if you must and then really wait the full 1/2 hr to allow proper digestion. Otherwise your pushing undigested food through...not healthy or nutritious.
  10. You can also try the cheese sauce...I think injury. If you put it on broccoli it's pretty good. Lastly unflavored protein in a glass of milk is decent or in a yogurt or cottage cheese. I can ONLY use the premier protein from Costco. I know that it is pricier, but it tastes good, travels well and is just so darn convenient!
  11. Sorry ... Really nothing to do as this is the result of something that happened months ago...major surgery !! :-). Best you can do is promote new growth. I've been successful with bamboo (90% silica), 5000mcg biotin and a supplement called biosil. The bamboo and biotin are pretty cheap if you buy in bulk...the biosil is pricey. It is also silica. I really can't tell what is working, but I can actually see new and strong growth. I don't care about the $$$$ if my hair goes back or even gets better than normal. Of course, of course protein is critical. Protein is what hair is partly made of so if you don't have enough protein in your diet, what you do have is directed to critical functions vs hair growth. But...for the ladies...my bikini line is ridiculous! When my hair up top was falling out in clumps, hair there was as gross and thick as ever!!
  12. I take 6 psyllium husks capsules per day. For me, I want natural relief and miralax, MOM or anything in that vein is too chemically. Psyllium is natural and does the trick. PLUS is reduces your cholesterol...what is better than that?

Anyone With Nausea And Cold Sweats After Having Food ?

This could be a form of dumping. They say it doesn't happen with the sleeve, but it sure happened to me a few times. Food moves into the intestine too quickly. If it was soup and a bit rich or sugary, it makes perfect sense. Eat slow...one spoonful every 3 minutes. If you're early on, you may still be healing.

    Need Breakfast Ideas...?

Cottage Cheese, 2 string cheeses, a protein bar (Pure Protein has 20g), a milk or yogurt-based smoothie or a low sugar smoothie with protein powder- like berries or cantalope

    Advice Wanted

Sleeve all the way! It's permanent and worth it!
  17. Don't fret, ups and downs are part of this crazy roller coaster. Everyone has given you great advice. I would actually count the crabs you're taking in. Sadly, 2 pieces of bread...even thin bread...sounds too much. I was maxed at 1 serving per day. Look at the cheese and mayo for hidden carbs as well. Plus both milk and yogurt have lactose...a carb! If you do this, I think you'll be surprised at your carb intake and that stalls loss!

    Peanut Butter Cup

6 months out and can eat ANYTHING except dry chicken breast and doughy rolls. Have estes small amounts of all kinds of crap. The good news is 1-2 bites and I am done!

    One Bite Too Many

I would agree with the barf reco...it's gross, but you feel so much better. I am 6 months out and really only barfed about 4 times. I now get the queue! Before, even when you were stuffed, you could shovel in a bit more...now you cannot. Also realize that you continue to swallow saliva after you eat and that needs space. So stopping before full is even better.

    An Orchestra In My Belly

6 months out and I still get it after every sip or bite...have just gotten used to it
  21. I prefer to say vertically challenged! I'm 5'1", started at226, 202 day of surgery on 4/18 and am at162... Wearing a petite 12. Really, my goal is now 115 from 145, I need to lose way more than 17 pounds. Happily chugging, but loss is sssslllloooooowwwwww...

    When Does It Stop?

It started for me at 4 months and is steadily falling out at about 6 months out. For me, I can "protein load" and it makes no difference. We're seeing the effect of what happened months ago...that's the challenge. It is a delayed cause and effect. I've been taking silica, biotin and increased my protein to closer to 8 grams and I do see quite a bit of regowth. Again, it wont be instant...but it's your best shot at seeing regrowth and reduced loss months from now.
  23. I had that, but it was more about being sedentary than anything else. The heaviness was fluid building up from not taking enough deep breaths. I took that doo-hicky home from the hospital and kept blowing throughout the day and it subsided.

    Heartburn

6 months out and I still have the worst heartburn. I take prevacid 30mg each day to get any relief. I would buy OTC Prilosec or Prevacid open the capsules...need to take 2...and put in yogurt or applesauce and swallow. Just a teaspoon is enough.
  25. I am 6 months out and agree about 60 percent. While rules are difficult to follow, people should follow in the early stages. This is major, major surgery and you need to give your stomach and body a chance to heal. Protein helps you heal...Doritos do not. Once you are healed and experienced with the new stomach...of course figure out what works for you. This is my best advice looking back over the last 6 months.
