    Scared about sugery!

it's normal...it's okay...but O.T.R Sleever is 100% correct you really need to look at both sides of the coin because the the surgery is not for everyone....you cant change your mind later...But I can tell you from someone who was in the same position as you 8 months go (scared as hell)...it's done and over quick and well worth it. Just make sure you follow what your doctor tells you to do and you will do great. The hardest part is getting used to eating so little and of course getting to know the new person in the mirror each day . Best of wishes

    feel sluggish..anyone else

it's the fast food...trust me...I dont think humans were actually supposed to eat that stuff lol hate to say it...when I have had to eat it even (what the fast food companies claim) are the healthy choice..I just dont feel as good as real healthy food. If you want to maintain your weight you would need to eat 2,225 cals a day and you could do that EASY without the fast food and feel so much better.

Today 7 mos doctors check up

you look wonderful....congrats. Vitamins are very important so I am so happy you mentioned that to others (some days they are hard to get down) but effective. Protein was also really hard for me too but thats what keeps my weight dropping..I have only 10 more pounds but when my protein increases my weight drops. Costo has a great brand (the only one I like so far) premier protein only in chocolate or vanilla but it taste great. Keep it up girly you are doing amazing.
  4. GO FOR IT!! I did around that time (think it was around 4 days lol) it's great also cream of broccoli is great too.

    Hair Loss Prevention!

Funny this topic should come up as I was getting my blood taken yesterday and ironically the person taking my blood had been sleeved as well and begin talking to me about losing hair and she said biotin was amazing so of course I ran out and bought it. Started taking it yesterday. It helps for nails too (my nails are a hot mess ) they break and crack bad. Best of luck.

    New To Vst... Hello!

Welcome! This is a great site, full of information, pretty sure you can find an answer to every question you could possiably have here lol. Everone is VERY supportive since most of us are in your situation or have already had the surgery. And to answer your question regarding there not being much men here....it's true. I think because most men can't ask for driving directions so to ask for support well...I think you understand lol But the few that are on here are very kind and supportive too. Good luck to you on your Journey (yes, it will be a journey)and it's well worth it. Oh, and if you begin to blog it is best to do it now so that you can look back later to track your own progress. If you have any questions I am more then happy to answer. Best of luck.

    Yikes!

THAT IS SO WEIRD...I think it depends on the doctor because I swear to all of you "I did not have a catheter" I asked about it because I hated those things with my c-sections and they said "no" they just made me go to the bathroom right before they wheeled me in, unless they lied to me...hummm.Hell I was out cold. When I woke up I had to go pretty bad and my bladder was very full, the nurse helped me to the bathroom. The hospital stay was fine but missed the kiddies after day 2  . Good luck to you.

    Super Small Amounts Of Food?

At two months, yes. I still have it most days. My doctor told me it was scar tissue and if it continued that they might need to put a tube down my throat to open it up more (I would be asleep) He said it should get easier over time. Everyone heals differently too so you might still have some kind of swelling. I figured it this way, it's not exactly normal for our body's to have this surgery done, we spent our whole lives with our old stomach and it will take more then a few months to get used to the new one. Maybe try drinking warm tea 45 mins before you eat to relax it a bit, then try food? I am with you on the meds, there usually is a natural alternative.

13 Months Today - Lots Accomplished!

You look great. I love how you tracked your weight, that really helps me alot. I lost 40 pounds before my surgery and I am 3 months out now and have lost 39 pounds but I really thought it was moving along a bit to slow. I keep thinking that I will never get to my 120 weight goal but it looks like you were kind of moving along at the same rate so my hopes are high now. Thank You

    Leak Test?

they did mine as soon as my doc was done with the staples. My throat was a bit sore for a few days but I promise you...I have NO memory of it lol. You should ask your doctor. I told my doctor that I couldnt handle it (I am a spaz too about stuff like that) and he took care of me.

Those Who Have Gotten In Shape And Have Ran 5Ks

Start by walking and then speed walking. Muscle has memory so the more weight you lose your muscle will remember your old routine. It will just take some time. My knees were killing me at 257 and I never thought I would be able to walk but I pushed myself and I walk over 2 1/2 miles in about 25 to 30 mins tops, no more knee pain. And I agree, consistency is the key, once you see the scale get lower it gets easier to stick with it. Best Wishes

    Leak Test?

No worries Sweetie You will be out cold with no memory of it, they do it as soon as they are done with the surgery that is why everyone has bad gas pain inside their stomach after, it goes away after a few days and some walking. You will be fine.

    Preop And Beyond!

I know how you feel...and everything will go great. Keep up the great work, it will soon pay off. You will be sleeved in no time.Don't forget to walk the same day of surgery, if you walk every couple hours or more you will not have bad gas pain in your stomach. Best Wishes
