I know that they have a new one, she starts on Monday. I'm sure she is just taking over her appointments. I haven't heard if any is going with him, but I know that they started the center together and made up all the informational supplies and binders together. In Nov he had said that he would've taken everyone if he could've afforded it at the time, but since he was just getting started he did not have the finances. I think he is getting everything ready to open the clinic he wants to. He had found a hernia when doing my surgery. I'm going with him since he will be able to repair it, I hope right along with a tummy tuck...lol

That's a horrible experience. I'm sorry you had to deal with that. I'm not sure who had gone to Metzs' practice, I know Amy is still there, Linsey just went to another place to work as a wellness coach somewhere in Denver. My insurance doesn't go through him until Feb 1. I think he is happier being on his own, since he also performed other surgeries as well, now he is not restricted. I have met other ladies at the groups, it would be fun to get together.

You are not alone. I wish I would have known about you Sadler, the support meetings are great and they are a public forum so they are open for anyone. Last night at the meeting Dr Metz sat in along with the Bariatric center staff. We talked about how they are doing the meetings together so that our support for each other will not change. The next one is closer to the end of Feb. You should really come and meet up. I had gone in for my three months check when I was told that he had left. I was confused on what kind of care I would be given and why exactly he left then in the Nov meeting he came in to talk to us. Because of some things that Dr Metz discovered during surgery, I have decided, just yesterday actually, to move over to his practice to continue my care. I really enjoyed the staff, but I really felt comfortable with Dr Metz as a surgeon. It was a disheartening change and I believe it wasn't done for the good of the patient, just for the company. I hope that you will come a enjoy the support of the group, it is amazing how 30+ people who have ask gone through the same things in one room can be comforting, knowledgeable, and inspiring. Hope to hear from you soon!

Need to get back on track!
Meliss000 replied to Pookeyism's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I think that you are on the right track. The hardest thing is admitting what you did and knowing what you should be doing. I'm only five months out, I know one day I will probably slip up and it gives me great strength to know that other people have been there and gotten back on track. You are an inspiration to those of us that are just in process of figuring this out and I think this is why this forum is so important. You will be successful, I have no doubt, because of the way you are holding yourself accountable. I am rooting for you! Thanks for being so honest and giving me hope that I can be too. Here's to a healthier new year! -

I'm also on MFP and I really think it helps to have friends that can help you with suggestions. I really like that you can look at food diaries to add to my menu. I hope you don't mind if I add you both. My name is meliss000, those are zeros -
Planar Fasiitis
Meliss000 replied to sleeve_sister's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also wore a night brace, I totally forgot to put that in there, and a good arch support. I ordered one online called heel it...something like that, I tried a few different splints at night, you can buy them at Walmart or walgreens, CVs...I don't think there is anything worse than foot pain because it affects every part of your body! I'm 80 lbs down and my feet are feeling much better. -
Planar Fasiitis
Meliss000 replied to sleeve_sister's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Stretch...stretch...stretch, I had it. The only thing you to do is to stretch out those calve muscles. Stretch at least 5-6 times a day, when you use stairs, drop your heal down for around 15 seconds or so, google plantar stretches. For pain I rolled a tennis ball under my foot, or a can of soup, also ice packs. Good luck! That is the worst pain. It will take a few days to start to feel better, it will though! -
