Yes. Very normal. Your tummy is still trying to adjust to it's new size. And the noise thing unfortunately is just one of those things that goes along with this surgery. I was sleeved 1/15 and mine has quieted down a lot, unless I eat Soup. For some reason that still gets it talkin.

Is anyone critical of their body more now?

My nose starts running a little (this is a recent thing for me, so weird) but usually I get about 3-4 hiccups. I love it! I know I'm done when the hiccups start and it keeps me from overeating! As far as "feeling" full, I guess I would have to agree in that it just feels like no more will fit.

Wow! Look at you! At least we can say "we knew you when" lol! That's awesome!

That's great! Congratulations on your new marriage and your awesome weight loss!!

That getting in all your Protein, taking Biotin or washing your hair with nioxin will keep you from losing your hair. NOT!

Aw! Your husband sounds awesome! I am 100% sure he is just going to be so happy to be home and back with you, he's not even going to see the loose skin that you do. Get some some lingerie that makes you feel sexy! It won't matter anyway as I'm sure he's gonna rip it off of you. Good luck and don't stress! Just enjoy him being home with you and seeing your great new body!

Relationship problems or doubts?
MrsG replied to Vsgmommy19's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree! Mine is awesome but I think a lot of the reason is because we communicate all the time. I talk to him and include him in everything. I didn't think it was possible to love him more but since my surgery, they way he supports me 1000% and encourages me, well I am truly blessed and love him more than anything! -
I drank 2 months out. Bad idea for me!! I tolerated it well, not a problem, however it kicked me out of ketosis and I hit a stall for 2, almost 3 weeks. Soooo, no drinking for me for at least a year. And I'm good with that!

What's up with red meat?
MrsG replied to heartonmysleevey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had to wait til I was 8 weeks out for red meat. My sleeve tolerates it very well. I just prefer chicken, turkey and fish. My NUT told me they just like to make sure the tummy is healed because red meat is harder to digest. -
Is this the right way to approach surgery?
MrsG replied to BriDawn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hmmm....like a diet. No. I agree with John. I cannot look at this as another diet. A diet usually has an end. "Oh I've lost the weight I want, now I can relax and eat how I used to before" I can't do that. I've had to see this as a complete life change. That is not to say that I will never eat the foods I've given up later but for now I'm trying to get a hold on how I view food and how I got to this point and how to not let that happen again. Like John said, you can eat around the sleeve and gain weight back and I know that is a very real possibility after reaching goal. So for me, this first year is all about learning to change my relationship with food and not go back to the way I ate before. No, I will never be able to eat the portion size I did before surgery but I can start eating a bunch of crap again or get lazy with my food choices and I don't want to do that. I just think it's a bad idea looking at this surgery as another diet. It's a lifestyle change, one that will save my life! This is just my opinion, I'm not trying to be snarky! -

I have THREAD coming out of one of my incisions
MrsG replied to UPRR Wifey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the same thing. I just left them alone and they just finally absorbed or fell out. Not a biggie. -
Pascale I am so sorry you are going thru this! I feel just terrible for you. I know anything I say will not be enough to ease your mind in what you are going thru. All I can offer you are my prayers of which you will be in most definitely!

Second thoughts about surgery ..

Nate I think it's great you are seeing a therapist beforehand. You sound like you are doing your research thoroughly as well. At the age of 39 almost 40 I have dieted a long long time. My first round at weight watchers I was 11. I've spent my whole life dieting. If this surgery would've been an option for me then I know I would've looked into it. It's your decision and it's a lot to think about. I think it's great to have it done young, then by the time you are older its just second nature to eat the way you have to with this surgery. On the other hand I agree with John, did you try limiting and tracking your calories? Increase your exercise? Only you can answer honestly and know all you have done to lose weight on your own. I think it is absolutely great that you are doing something about your weight now while you are so young, whether that be surgery or not! Good luck and know if you do go thru with it you will have great support on here! -
I think it's awful that we all have stories of people saying mean things and feeling hurt. Why do people find that that is ok? I wasn't raised that way. To me it's just mean and a way for them to feel better about themselves, with the exception of kids. They just blurt whatever and not think that it might hurt others feelings. We'll all get there eventually, it just feels like it's been and will be a long road to get there! Keep workin on that self esteem Amy. You made a choice to love yourself enough to have surgery whether it was for you or your kids. Love yourself! You are worth it and if your not sure, just ask your daughter. I'm sure you are very worth it to her!

I think your goal is pretty realistic! I commend you on running! That's great and I've heard pounds really start flying off with running! I cant wait til i can start running. I dont do Protein Drinks either. What about a Protein Bar, are you allowed yet? They make many different flavors and so many brands. I really like them and they have lots of Protein. In regards to your heartburn, talk to your dr. He can prescribe you something for that. You shouldn't have to deal with constant heartburn, it's no fun. I was on a ppi for the first 3 months to prevent that. Good luck, sounds like you are on the right track and doing great!

I almost cried last week. I have lost 53lbs since surgery 1/15 & 67lbs all together with pre op. sounds impressive right? I think so. So I've never really cared what anyone thinks when I wear a bathing suit. If I wanna swim, I'm doing it. If ppl think I look fat oh well, I don't care. Hooooowever, after losing this much weight I have been feeling really good. I put on my bathing suit that was way too tight before surgery and it fit nicely maybe even a tad big! I was jumping with joy. So my step daughter really wanted me to take her to the YMCA to swim. They have a huge indoor pool with a massive slide. When we got there, there were a ton of little kids aged 3-5 in the pool area. My step daughter had to use the restroom so I stood waiting for her. Well some of the little kids had just finished getting dressed after swimming and were standing in line waiting to leave. It was then that I heard a little girl go, " hey look at that big fat lady! Hi big fat lady!" It took everything for me not to turn to the little girl and tell her to f@&k off. I didn't know how to handle it. All I know is I was feeling great and all it took was for that little brat to say something so rude to bring me down to zero. I'm over it now. In hindsight I should've just told her she was being rude and let it be but I was so crushed at the moment I didn't say anything. It's one thing to look in the mirror and think you look good with your current weight loss, but it's another when someone no matter what age reminds you just how far you still have to go.

I was told no swimming til my incisions had healed all the way. I would imagine its the same for soaking in a bath tub.
