Post-Op Ladies.. Did You Lose Your Shape? And What Did You Do To Help Tighten Your Skin?

Did one and lost 7 inches on my stomach in 2 spots. Ordered the kit of 4 so I can work on my problem parts. -
My doc in Puerto Vallarta is Dr. Castaneda. He is amazing and messaged with me almost daily for my entire hospital stay plus for the first week and a half after I was home. He was not happy with the way the doctors here in Canada handled my leak. He had suggestions on how they could help me further but they weren't willing. If I could have gone back to Mexico for leak treatment, I'm confident Dr. Castaneda would have gone above and beyond, but with the leak being detected so late, it just wasn't an option. I would 100% recommend Dr. Castaneda to anyone who is getting the sleeve. Canadian doctors and hospitals can't compare, in my opinion.

I was sleeved September 19 in Mexico and ended up in emergency in Saskatoon (Canada) on October 8 with high fever, weak, passing out, not being able to eat or drink much. Was a small leak but I was in the hospital for 17 days, on major antibiotics, no food or liquids going into my stomach and strictly being fed & hydrated through a PICC line. Did numerous tests during my stay to check if the leak was healing. It closed partially and then a week later we did another test only to find out it didn't close any further. Docs said there was nothing more they could do for me so they got me eating, sent me home and said they hoped it would close the rest of the way on its own. If I have symptoms again, just go back and they'll admit me back into the hospital. So far I feel great. I pray every day that it stays this way!!

High Protein Food Choices--When You Really Don't Like Shakes.....
Crystal Lavoie replied to Texarkolina's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have one shake in the morning and the rest of my protein I get from food: eggs, meats (wide variety), greek yogurt, milk, cheese. I find things I like to eat and utilize them in as many ways as I can. -

Week Of October 3 Sleevers Out There? I Need Friends From That Time On My Fitness Pal!
Crystal Lavoie replied to laurenw's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on September 19, so a bit before everyone here, but I had a leak, was in the hospital for 17 days, couldn't eat our drink on my own, so I am behind. Its more like I'm 4 weeks post-op instead of 6. Feel free to add me. I'd love to have more friends! FatChickGoneWild -
Left Shoulder Pain Starting @ 15 Days Post Op?
Crystal Lavoie replied to CCCross's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a couple of weeks of shoulder pain, which I had mistaken for gas, and as time went on, I ended up weak, passing out and was running a fever. Turned out it was a late leak, I spent 17 days in the hospital and just got out 4 days ago. I'm not out of the woods. The next few weeks are crucial to my recovery. Please, listen to your body, follow your instincts and be aware!! -
Feedback On Dr. Castaneda In Puerto Vallarta
Crystal Lavoie replied to candigurlinwa's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Just unfortunate luck that I got a late leak. It sucks most being in the hospital and not knowing how long it will take to heal. I'm out of the woods for any real serious issues, as long as I keep following doctors orders. We'll just keep testing week by week until the leak is gone. Hoping it won't take too long. Remember me in your prayers. -

Got a late leak. Been in the hospital almost 10 days now. My stomach is on a break. No food or liquids. Just strictly fluids & tpn (liquid calories) through a picc line. Gonna re-test to see if the leak is closed in another 6 days. Just re-tested yesterday and got the bad news that the leak is still there. It's smaller but still there. Been a long haul. I'm almost a month post-surgery. -
FatChickGoneWild....everyone feel free to add me. I'm 15 days post op and 25 lbs down.

Feedback On Dr. Castaneda In Puerto Vallarta

If something is seriously wrong, I think you'll know. I had 2 days of non stop abdominal pain but it is getting better. To think about the major surgery that we've had, it is normal to have pains as our bodies heal and adjust. If you have pain killers, take them. If not, get some! And if you are very concerned, I suggest seeing your doc. Did you get yeast infection from your antibiotics? I got it, plus thrush in my mouth. Apparently its common. I'm being treated for both right now. Take care and hope you feel better soon. Get lots of rest and don't over do it. -

What Happened To Me? It Was Scary!
Crystal Lavoie replied to Frza's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told to not attempt bread for at least the first 6 months. It swells in the stomach and is hard to digest. As for the cold, uncontrollable shakes, I had that 2 days after surgery and needed some meds to relax. I was still in the hospital and it only happened that one time. My suggestion is to avoid bread and see your doc if it happens again. -

Hi all, I'm 2 weeks post op as of today and I have to say, the past 2 days have been rough. I'm not sure if it's maybe just some bruising and healing I'm feeling inside, but I do have some abdominal pain. It's nothing horrible or any sharp pains....best way to describe is that I feel like I've done 1000 sit ups. Took it very easy last night and going to as much as possible for the next few days. Hope it goes away soon. On the plus side, I'm down 24 lbs!! Feels great!!
