4 Weeks Post-Op...tired!
takroom replied to kellyq's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok Girls~ Hopefully this will help...my routine is as follows: (i work full time) 6:30am B-12 sublingual & Multivitamin 7:00am Pure Protein Shake blended with ice & half banana (delicious) 7:30-8:00am 8oz water 9:00am applesauce or yogurt & other half banana 10:00am 8oz water 11:00am soft scrambled egg or purée of some sort 11:30-12 8 oz water & so on etc throughout my day. The Pure Protein shakes I get at WalMart, taste good - vanilla I have to jazz up a bit. I'm averaging about 48-56 iz of fluids. The nausea could either be from dehydration or an allergy to dairy, try some lactaid before you drink your protein. Being tired is from not getting enough protein & not enough fluids. Once I started taking the lactaid & increasing my fluids I felt a lot better. -
Cheryl~ I am not a Dr. but do ask lots of questions. Here is what I was told... We need to keep a high protein, low carb & sugar diet. When you eat carbs, they send a signal to the brain telling you that your body needs more carbs (hence making you hungry all the time). Tell your husband to increase the protein & water, cut back on the carbs & sugars, increase the excersize. Head hunger is HORRIBLE!!!! Also, tell him, when is craving something, don't deny himself but cut back the portion size. I will keep him in my thoughts & prayers. Hide the scale, it's EVIL!!! (LOL)

Leg Cramps - Is It Common?
takroom replied to scorpion509's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had leg cramps the first 2 weeks. My Dr said completely normal. It's from the gases & position they put you in from surgery. I am 3 weeks post op & my leg cramps sent away. Take a Tylenol, it will help. -
So, glad you're doing well. Keep us posted.

It truly is beautiful, the leaves will be be changing colors on the mountain trees soon & the air is starting to get a chill in the morning & evening. There are many places to visit in the area- Bisbee, Coronado Natl. Park, Tombstone, Kartchner Caverns, Ramsey Canyon Reserve & much more. If you are ever down our way, let me know.

Deb- it's really beautiful down here. I live by Coronado Natl. Park. There are several places to visit in our area. Bisbee, Tombstone, Ramsey Canyon Reserve, Kartchner Caverns and much more. We are approx 4600ft above sea level, so the temps are cooler. The leaves will begin changing colors on the mountains soon. Ever want to visit, let me know

I live about 25 miles from the border of Naco, MX....it takes me about 2 1/2 hours from my house to Casa Grande. As I said, I go to visit my daughter & grandkids about once a month. It's too hard for my daughter to travel with a 3 year & 3 month old.

I'm in Sierra Vista, about an hour South East of Tucson

I think it would be great to meet all of you also. I'm in SE AZ but come to Arizona City/Casa Grande at least once a month to visit my daughter & granddaughters. I am in my 3rd week post-op & have had more ups, than downs, so I consider it an overall success so far. I haven't found any other sleevers in my are but I found you guys & am so happy we've all connected. To those of you who have upcoming surgeries...stay strong, stay focused, stay on track- you are all going to do great!!!

I do have some meds left from surgery. I thinks it's either not enough fluids or the puréed foods. I'm going to try to go back to liquids for a few more days. If I'm feeling better, it's the puréed foods...if not, not enough fluids.
