takroom replied to newgrandmother's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Well, my fellow sleevers, I have been eating what i want, just in moderation. So far, so good, only eating about 10 - 12 bites of food & I'm full. -
I put mine in a 8oz glass & when I've finished it, I pour another. Congrats to you on your journey to the Loser's bench

5 Confessions (Join In)
takroom replied to ebthompson2010's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok, here goes... I confess that I miss the social aspect of eating & drinking beers with my friends. I confess that my exercise regiment has been less than adequate. I confess that sometimes I miss food & soda more than I should (& I occasionally use a straw). I confess that it is hard for me to watch my significant other eat large sums of food & not take me into consideration. I confess that I hate my scale & the fact I'm obsessed with weighing myself. Last, I confess that I don't get all my protein & water in on a daily basis. -

MaryDrew-I think most of us who have Yo-Yo'd in the past have that same fear. Personally, I know that my decision to have WLS was to live a healthier life. Are there going to be struggles along the way? Yes! Am I better prepared me tally & physically? Yes! I have been blessed with a tool that I will have to use the rest of my life. I can say at an early 7 weeks out, I've already lost 32 pounds & feel better than I have in over 10 years.

Change up your routine....if you're doing only 1 kind of exercise, such as cardio, try weight lifting. Watch what your eating, increase your water & see what happens. Best of luck

Congrats! Welcome to the loser's bench!!! Hope you have a speedy recovery

Scared Straight! New Dad/husband, Thinking About Vgs- Please Help!
takroom replied to rxkid2384's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
RxKid- I think everyone is giving you some great advice. So, here's my 2 cents worth: I don't have a nutritionist but, my Dr told me that I can basically have what I want but to chose wisely & eat everything in moderation. As with anyone who is going to make the decision to have surgery, you're going to go thru a lot of different emotions. It's completely natural & you should write down all your questions & concerns & present them to your Dr.. I wish you the best of luck & you should be proud of yourself for being such a great dad to want to take the necessary steps toward living a happier, healthier life... -
