Post Op Octosleevers 2012. Welcome To The Losers Bench!
arathfon.rn replied to SkinnyMinnie2Be's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Sleeved oct 4th. Starting to feel more like myself. Tolerating all the soft foods on my list pretty well. Today was my first day to venture out in public. Lol. Went to Walmart and walked all over the store. I have been walking about a mile and a half everyday since I came home. Today was also my first traumatic food smell day. Lol the hubby came home with fresh McDonald's French fries!! Curse him!! I did open the bag and smell the heck out of them though. Insert huge smile! But that was it. I had no desire to eat one nor even thought about popping one in my mouth. But they sure did smell yummy!! -

I also was released today. Surgery oct 4. I am sore and having gas pains. Took the gas x strips. They kinda helped. Trying to keep my liquids going. I don't feel like eating or drinking anything. Hopefully I will wake up tomorrow feeling better -

Good luck to everyone tomorrow!! I hope everything is successful and safe!! Thursday will be here soon!! -
@butterthebean it's almost like they have always known you to be bigger than them and it probably made them feel more secure about themselves. I know that's what's going on with my friends. These two girls are super competitive and I have never been on their signal as someone to compare weight and exercise with. Now they know I will be and wedding pictures are forever. Lol. It is kinda hurtful that she said that but I have thick skin. Just gives me more motivation to rock it out this year!!

I have always been the "fat" friend. And the "fat" sister. My three sisters were always a normal healthy size and even though we were in similar activities and sports I was always heavier. One of my best friends recently became engaged and she asked me to be a bridesmaid. I was very excited and honored. Her wedding is going to be two days after my one year surgery anniversary. I have two "friends" who are also in the wedding and now they are working out like crazy to look good for the wedding. We were looking at dresses about a week ago and one of them made a comment that she's not going to be the fat bridesmaid now that I'm having surgery. So I was the fat bridesmaid that made everyone else look good? Comments like that make me even more motivated.

October 15Th Sleeve Date!
arathfon.rn replied to drexelgirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My date is October 4th. I took 8 days off work. That's all the time I had available. So I am hoping I have a good recovery. I only work 3 days a week so that kinda helps. Congrats on your surgery!!! -
My husband has done that same thing to me. He is supportive and excited for me but has made comments that I'm going to be all thin and hot and I'm going to leave him. So not true! He is the love of my life fat or thin. I think it's just insecurities. He is so used to me being heavy and he is comfortable with us. I'm sure your man (and mine) will be fine!!

Super excited!! Finally approved for surgery after many frustrating months! Insurance required a six month medical weight loss program and at the end of my program I get a call saying they changed it to just three months. Grrrrrr!! Lol so several weeks later and few more bumps in the road I'm finally here. Just waiting on a surgical date. So let's hope for one soon!

Any Over The Road Truck Drivers
arathfon.rn replied to phil's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My husband is a regional truck driver and is considering having it done. We have talked about how challenging it could be exercise wise. Cooped up in a truck and lack of facilities to exercise is a concern of his. He thought of walking the lot around the truck stops to get some exercise in. And prepping as much food as he can and place it in his fridge.
