Have You Lost Friendships/relationships Since Weight Loss?
NewMan replied to N/A's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you all for your support and advise. It is nice to come onto a forum where you can discuss the 'real' issues and not be judged and or talk with others going through the same things. -
Have You Lost Friendships/relationships Since Weight Loss?
NewMan replied to N/A's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, we have done marriage counseling, before the sleeve. Our marriage has been really rocky for a few years now and it seems like we have been hitting our biggest bumps lately. Post op. Thank you for your support! -
Have You Lost Friendships/relationships Since Weight Loss?
NewMan replied to N/A's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My marriage has been rocky for years, however, she is extremely supportive of my sleeve. Since and I am only 1.5 months post op, I have noticed that she is a lot more sensitive about our relationship. She is also not saying very nice things to me. I would like to think it was just jealousy but she is a beautiful woman and does not have a weight problem so me losing weight isn't making her feel big or anything. She just makes little comments that cut me to the core. Comments like "I thought you would have more energy" which doesn't sound bad, but after working 12+ hr days of physical labor I was always tired before surgery. Now my energy levels are HIGH and I go work out daily, but today...Sunday...Football I was watching my beloved Vikings and she made comment like I just sit around all day. It was one day...so I got pissed and now she tells me that I have anger issues since my surgery. I can tell you honestly that I haven't been this happy since I was playing hockey in my early 20's!! I haven't felt this good in years! So I don't know where this is coming from. I don't know really where I am going with this, just confused mainly...we are in trouble here and I don't know if it is going to work out. -
Fiji sounds amazing!! Lucky, I wish I was going!!

I've been lucky so far but I am only 1.5 months out.

I am 1 month out and want to go to a movie really bad but I know I would be CRAVING popcorn...so if I chew it really well I should be able to have a few pieces? That is what I am catching the drift on...I am in the soft food phase and I know that the butter in the popcorn makes it mushy! I know I am supose to have low sugar, low fat but is a treat really going to kill me?

Question I Keep Forgetting To Ask...
NewMan replied to dexter's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know my surgeon took it out of one of the 7 incisions he made through a little tube that look like a turkey marinator. I didn't get to physically see it but he did show me which incision he took it out of! a slightly larger incision but it is still very small to imagine it came out of that. Also, if you go on Youtube you can find short 5 min videos of a sleeve being performed. Quite interesting I may say! What a few of them. -
I was sleeved on July 30th and I have been authorized to start my soft foods!! I am wondering if anyone has had the Ambassador hot dogs. Also, my nurse said I should have soft veggies now so I am wondering if I chew Corn on the Cob really well if that is ok for my sleeve? Has anyone done this yet? It is picnic season and I would like to participate a little!!!

Will I Ever Be Able To Chug Water Again?
NewMan replied to TiredOfChubRub's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am getting down fluids easier everyday!! I am one month out...I was struggling so much my first 2 weeks even getting 20oz down, now I am up to about 70oz!! -
It too was my first time having surgery and I too was nervous about it. When I woke from the surgery I was just nausous and very tired. Pain was almost non existant though, I was pretty doped up I am sure!! The next day I was waiting until my pain would get to a 3 or 4 before I requested more pain meds. By day 2-3 I would say it would get to a 2. Then by day 4 I was OFF my pain meds and haven't had any pain at all since...It is very tolerable!! Don't worry about it you "literally" won't feel a thing!

Stalls will come and go...I was sleeved on July 30th. My weight was 296 when I started my 10 day pre op diet, my surgery day I was 280 and today was my one month check up and I weighed in at 252!!! I am very excited but I did have my 3 week stall where I didn't lose more than 2 lbs for almost 10 days then it just started to fall off again!! Keep at it and it will dip down again. Congrats so far everyone!!! PS I never have taken my measurements...Should I be?

Today I went to my one month checkup and I have only vomitted one time so far. When I brought up my vomitting story to the nurse, she said that I ate too quickly and there was basically an obstruction so with the constant saliva going down my throat it would back up and then come out as vomit. Just eat slower and make sure you chew and you should be fine!!
