I have certain times when I eat and when I drink becuase I too battle with head hunger. I plan my meals so it helps me to reason with myself and distinguish between the need to eat and me wanting to eat. Hope that helps you.... Good luck

August Sleevers..what Is The Progress
KinnymomX3 replied to Lucabelle1313's topic in Food and Nutrition
I was sleeved on 8/14 . My highest weight was 247 I got down to 213 but managed somehow to gain 3 pound . It's my TOM next week and I think it may be the cause of the 3 pound fluctuation. In the morning I have a lean protein shake for lunch it's usually a cup of soup or tuna or crab salad. Dinner is half of a salmon patty with cheese or baked fish. My energy comes and goes the beginning of the work week I feel great but by hump day it's like I'm totally drained. I usually power walk or jog a mile 3x a week but I haven't at all this week. I get 60 oz of water everyday and about 50 g of protein everyday. I'm have a hard time eating , it's so darn uncomfortable and the whole small bites and chewing like a camel is getting on my nerves . At this point I have regrets about the surgery but I said going in that I wasn't going to change my mind pre-op and afterwards I would just have to deal with it and I am ! -
You look AWESOME! Inspiration to say the least. I've got a question did your weight fluctuate at all in the first month?

How Did You Choose Your Screen Name?
KinnymomX3 replied to Pookeyism's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My three year old son constantly asked if I was " Kinny " yet after my surgery. I have 3 children and did the surgery so I could live longer for them . Thats how I came up with the name kinnymommyX3 -
I've enjoyed the boca burger with cheese and the meal starters. I may only be able to tolerate 5-6 small bites but they are protein packed and very soft ( in the soft food phase) . Finding foods that I like has been hard but these taste good to me

TVP ? It a vegatarian alternative for meat so I guess it would fall under that term ( although I've never heard of it) -

Its like ground beef except its soy. I had it tonight as a subtitute to the "real" spaghetti that my family was eating. I have to be honest it wasn't the best in that dish. Never the less full of protein -
Wow I'm 3 weeks out on soft foods and I'm doing very well. Hang in there I know it must be tough , I went crazy on clear liquids for a week. Just remember this too shall pass, next month will be easier ! Good luck

Need Suggestions On What To Tell Young Kids
KinnymomX3 replied to Barisaxylady's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was very honest with my 7,5 and 3 year old. I told them that I was going to get some of my tummy removed so that I could loose weight and be a healthier mommy for them . Believe it or not they really understood what was happening. My 3 year old would say we going to have a kinny mommy hence my name on this site. They even know I couldn't pick them up and that they could jump on me . They say mommy can't eat that when we are having dinner or they are snacking on things. -
I was walking 3 days after surgery my post op was one week after surgery and they cleared me to jog but no weight bearing exercise I started jogging 8/29

Support Person Or Not?
KinnymomX3 replied to IsaacsGram's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would say you're going to need help. My husband was with me around the clock the first four days . Your weak and sore and for some (I was) in pain . I consider myself to be a pretty tough woman (3) 8.5 kids with no meds , breast reduction used no pain meds but this surgery was difficult and I NEEDED the help. -
Two weeks out and I ran a mile today in 30 minutes . It was AWESOME, I haven't felt this alive in a long time . I am a full time nurse with 3 children and a husband so I have to find the time to exercise. I walk a mile everyday on my lunch break and 3 times a week I run 5 laps around my neighborhood which equal a mile . I've managed to go from 247 to 215 in two weeks and I'm VERY proud of it )

The Stuff They Don't Tell You
KinnymomX3 replied to Parker's Dad's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also was not told about the catheter that they placed durning surgery and didn't remove until 24 hours after surgery. I was NOT prepared for that or the horrible bladder spasms I had every hour !!! -
