people that are pretty serious about fitness usually wake up & start working out ASAP.. they usually exercise even before drinking their morning coffee, before they eat anything.. etc.. because then your body burns body fat.. there's nothing in your stomach & so your body can just burn the calories off of your excess fat stores. typical workout would be like 15-30 minutes doing some kind of cardio.. like a treadmill, exercise bike, swimming, some kind of exercise video (like walk away the pounds, belly dancing, yoga booty ballet, turbo jam, etc).. followed by 45-60 minutes weight training (or rather "resistance" training.. so weights, exercise bands, cans of green Beans, milk jugs, body weight, whatever you have to work out with that adds some kind of resistance).. then if you want to, you can do some more cardio after you eat your last meal of the day.. my trainer had me working out with weights 4 days a week (different parts of the body those 4 days), and had me doing 1 hour of cardio (minimum) a day 7 days a week. for routines, you could check out a book called body for life.. there's a newer one by bill philips called "Transformation: The Mindset You Need. The Body You Want. The Life You Deserve" if you're a female, here's a workout for women who typically want a jessica simpson/jaime pressly kinda look: http://www.t-nation....e.do?id=1305014

tortilla or a crouton.. lol with such a tiny tummy, you may just have to have a crouton. xD or cracker
-
here's an exercise routine that's by a personal trainer & fitness guru.. supposed to give you a body like jessica simpson or jaime pressly. -- toned arms/legs, nice butt, small waist.. not too bulky/muscular. hope it helps http://www.t-nation.com/readArticle.do?id=1305014 it has a lot of other technical information in it.. which is worth the read, but if you don't have time or don't want to, just skip to the bottom.

i haven't done mine yet, but i'm 450-ish (probably 430-ish now) i've seen people on here my size & bigger that have gotten it & lived... to be honest, i'm scared, too.. because being bigger, you require more anesthesia.. it's scary.. but i mean.. at least for me.. it's not like i'm doing this because i think it will be easy or because i even want to... but because i NEED to, to survive! when it's a matter of survival.. and quality of life.. then you just gotta do what you gotta do to get better.. and really try.. it's not a quick fix, it's a tool to help you become healthier and normal.. y'know? so yeah.. can't blame you for being nervous or scared.. i am, too.. but i'm sure you'll be fine & you won't regret getting it. and me, too!

you could try some indian food. by that, i mean make it yourself at home. that way you can adjust the spiciness to what you like.. but their food has a lot of aromatic flavors and different things than we're used to eating.. you could make yourself a curry chicken, just use chicken breast (or whatever cut you like) and buy some curry seasoning (which is NOT spicy, it has spices, but is not spicy like heat wise.. spices like cumin, corriander, etc)... anyway.. put curry powder, salt (to your liking), garlic powder & pepper... that'll have lots of flavor, is inexpensive & easy to make.. you could try thai satay.. which is skewered meat (chicken or beef usually) & you eat it with peanut sauce... http://thaifood.abou...chickensate.htm << there's a recipe.. here's another one: http://www.kalynskitchen.com/2007/04/grilled-curried-chicken-skewers-with.html also, korean food is delicious... there is a lot of stuff that is NOT spicy, but is flavorful.. here's maangchi's website.. she lists recipes & ingredients & store locations & etc.. http://www.maangchi.com/ one thing you may love is Miso Soup.. it's very simple, but so delicious. it's salty & yummy. my favorite is tofu & seaweed... but you can put squash, potato, shrimp, etc.. whatever you want.. maanchi has something similar to miso soup on her page.. it's called doenjang chigae.. here's the link to that video: http://www.maangchi....doenjang-chigae the seaweed adds Iron & is salty, too.. and the tofu absorbs the flavor of whatever you put it in.. i try not to use firm or extra firm tofu.. but stick to something medium or soft. sea weed is also a great source of iodine... so you don't have to get "iodized sea salt"... bulgogi may also be something you'd like.. it's korean BBQ beef.. http://www.maangchi....nd-bulgogi-stew << shows you how to make bulgogi & bulgogi stew. here's a list of non-spicy recipes: http://www.maangchi....cipes/non-spicy hope that helps a little.

not yet. will be getting it done as soon as possible. but i know i have to change my mindset, or i'll be doomed to failure... so... that's all my point really was. i know i can come across as abrasive, but it's because i'm passionate about it. i'm not purposely trying to be an (_|_). -

Anyone Eat Anything
nyxa replied to victoriatxgirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
if you don't expand your stomach, some people may be able to eat anything... but why do you want to become a human garbage disposal?.. i think those people sorta missed the point of weight loss surgery... your stomach can stretch back out & you CAN regain your weight... dunno why anyone would want to risk it... most people here, from what i've seen, view the sleeve as a tool to help you lose the weight, but you have to eat right, eat healthy and exercise... there is no magic pill that will zap 100lb off of you & allow you to stuff your face with burgers, fries, milkshakes, ice cream, cookies, candy, cake, pie, soda pop, chips, grease, sugar, bread and cheese. ain't gonna happen. ever. even with the sleeve or gastric bypass or any other thing that hacks your guts up & rearranges your intestines or whatever... you just HAVE to decide that you're going to change your lifestyle and the sleeve is a tool to help you successfully make that change. that's as simple as it gets. i just don't get how you can go through a surgery where some person rips the majority of your stomach out & you lose a bunch of weight & then go right back to what you were doing... what the hell is the point in that?.. seriously. you want a year or two or three of being skinny, then just pack the pounds back on & get right back to where you are now?... i'm sorry, but that's just 1.) insane, and 2.) STUPID. totally & utterly STUPID. may as well just stay where you are and not put yourself through the hassle, pain & expense of surgery.. until you decide you have to change your ways, it's just a waste of time & a fantasy, in my opinion... -
no problem. i wasn't trying to be an (_|_), i just was like "wow... she must really have something going on to post 3 times." lol i would have offered a suggestion, but i don't know & didn't want to tell you anything that i wasn't 100% about. only helpful thing i can say is contact your doctor & see what they say about your issue. also was not trying to be an (_|_) there, was just sorta stating the obvious. in any case, i do hope you'll get your situation resolved & i wish you the best. PS: it is not 3 times, it is 4 times.... :/ i wonder how your phone did that. (genuine curiosity, again, not trying to be an ass)

The Stuff They Don't Tell You

you should try this toothpaste called Coral White. You can get it on Amazon. I use it myself. It's Fluoride free & made from coral calcium. it helps rebuild teeth (yes, it can happen.. teeth are bones, every other bone in your body is capable of healing, why not teeth?) there's also a book: http://www.amazon.com/Teeth-Whitening-Cure-Lester-Sawicki/dp/0984370617/ it talks about more than just whitening teeth. http://revolutiontooth.com/ there's also this article.. about root canals & whatnot: http://thehealthcoach1.com/?p=40 << really gets you to thinking.. i would also recommend viewing a documentary called The Beautiful Truth... and this site's got a lot of info.. http://www.mercurypoisoned.com/ there was also a Norwegian documentary about dental assistants & how they're infertal or their children are/were born with birth defects due to mercury poisoning.. -
sounds like jealousy... :/

thank you for explaining.

i agree 100% with diekoi. that was craptastic of your mom to do. people need to learn to keep their mouths shut. you may have been better off asking a friend.

congrats to you keep up the good work! i dunno what your ultimate goal is, but whatever it is, i'm sure you can and will accomplish it! i'm happy someone took notice of your hard work in regards to your lifestyle.. i don't think it really matters to anyone on here. i don't mean that in a negative or "b!tchy" way.. i just mean that most of us have been persecuted in some way because of our weight, so i'm sure we're not as likely to pass harsh judgments on others... since we know how it feels. in regards to you dating a biker chick, more power to you. lol it takes a guy with some balls to handle an independent woman, so go on with your bad self. lol whatever floats your boat & makes you happy.

Is Anyone Doing Clean Eating Post-Op?
nyxa replied to BKMama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
it IS scary.. a perfect example is ANYTHING that uses Aspartame... like... Crystal light... sugar free chewing gum... diet soda pop.. etc... source of image: http://galleryqui.wo...sume-aspartame/ image source: unknown (collected it a while back from a nutritional group on facebook) that's just one ingredient.... there's countless others just like it... and the company that's behind most of the horrible things is Monsanto..... they own our food... y'know that saying "it's not paranoia if they really ARE out to get you"?.. that's how i feel about Monsanto. lol Aspartame poisoning symptoms & side effects of Aspartame: "I know it’s such strong news and seems to come out of left field, but it’s not. What is in left field is the publics awareness towards the sugar free killer that was FDA approved for dry goods in 1981 and for carbonated soda in 1983. There were 5 deaths attributed to Aspartame prior to 1987 and since then fatality figures have not been made public. Likely because it would leave a bad taste in the mouth of the consumers not to mention it may remind you about any one of the 92 common symptoms you complain about often enough: A Abdominal Pain Anxiety attacks arthritis asthma Asthmatic Reactions B Bloating, Edema (Fluid Retention) Blood Sugar Control Problems (Hypoglycemia or Hyperglycemia) Brain Cancer (Pre-approval studies in animals) Breathing difficulties burning eyes or throat Burning Urination C can’t think straight Chest Pains chronic cough Chronic Fatigue Confusion D Death Depression Diarrhea Dizziness E Excessive Thirst or Hunger F fatigue feel unreal flushing of face H hair Loss (Baldness) or Thinning of Hair Headaches/Migraines dizziness Hearing Loss Heart palpitations Hives (Urticaria) Hypertension (High Blood Pressure) I Impotency and Sexual Problems inability to concentrate Infection Susceptibility Insomnia Irritability Itching J Joint Pains L laryngitis “like thinking in a fog” M Marked Personality Changes Memory loss Menstrual Problems or Changes Migraines and Severe Headaches (Trigger or Cause From Chronic Intake) Muscle spasms N Nausea or Vomiting Numbness or Tingling of Extremities O Other Allergic-Like Reactions P Panic Attacks Phobias poor memory R Rapid Heart Beat Rashes S Seizures and Convulsions Slurring of Speech Swallowing Pain T Tachycardia Tremors Tinnitus V Vertigo Vision Loss This also applies to cases of fibromyalgia. If you are using ASPARTAME (Nutra Sweet, Equal, Spoonful, etc) you probably have ASPARTAME poisoning!" -
Is Anyone Doing Clean Eating Post-Op?
nyxa replied to BKMama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i'm pre-op.. i eat clean. to me, it's common sense. processed foods are usually GMO (genetically modified) & there's all sorts of chemicals and junk in the "food" (if you can really even call it that due to it having little nutritional value).. i don't want that gunk in my body. y'know? so.. i eat clean. it's not hard. when i do make breads & stuff, i try to make 'em myself.. so that limits how much i eat them. lol -
The Stuff They Don't Tell You
nyxa replied to Parker's Dad's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
you should find a place that sells kangen Water. not the machines, but the water itself. the machines are expensive, but buying the water isn't. they charge you for the jugs (which you can buy your own), and where i live it's only like $10/mo for an unlimited amount. you could bring a cistern & have it filled up if you wanted. lol "Kangen water is also known to have small clusters of 5 to 6 water molecules , as a result of the electrolysis process. Making it a Super Hydrating water. You can taste the difference in your first glass. Tap water is typically 12 to 15 molecules per cluster. That is over double the size of Kangen water. Small clusters also mean that your body can readily absorb the minerals in this water into your cells in mere seconds. Reverse Osmosis, Distilled and tap water will slosh around in your stomach and often flush key minerals out of your body because they lack these important properties. The electrical charge of Kangen machine re-arranges healthy minerals that are naturally included in your tap water. As a result, Kangen water contains essential minerals, such as Calcium, Magnesium, and Potassium, in an ionic form that can be assimilated immediately into your body." magnesium that's easily digested & absorbed by your body will make you poop. in regards to the electrical charge.. it's not what it sounds like.. "Kangen is a Japanese word, best translated into English as "Return To Original" which means several things when used to describe water. Kangen water is simply an easier way of stating: Alkaline, ionized, electron rich, restructured, micro clustered, active hydrogen saturated, oxidation reduced, powerful water. Kangen Water is first purified, then given an electrical charge to recreate electron rich water. It's molecular formula shifts from H2O to H+ OH- In plain old English.... It's now living water again. . Kangen water is water that has gone through a Special Electrolysis Process that changes the pH of the water to ALKALINE and much, much more. Most other water electrolysis equipment will not create active hydrogen in their water, therefore, the equipment merely produces ionized alkaline water, not true Kangen water." source: http://www.thewatertruth.com/go/index.html seriously, it makes you go to the bathroom & you can taste & feel the difference. you can also use it to cook with & make coffee or tea or use with crystal light or whatever. you can even bathe with it. -
your doctor probably spent over $100,000 and at least 8 years extra getting an education, learning about the human body and how to do what they do... plus doing a residency somewhere for a couple years.. do you really think that you know more than they do about what you should do? they have reasons for asking you to do certain things. for a question like this, i would call the doctor and ask him/her why they want you to be on liquids for 2 to 3 weeks before going to the next stage.. then ask when it would be okay for you to move on. that said... were it me, i would follow what the doctor said to the T. that way if anything were to go wrong, it would be his/her butt on the line and not mine.. i also would be scared to progress too rapidly, because your stomach isn't even healed yet & from what i've read on here if you do anything too soon, your stomach will hurt like hell & you can get hellacious acid reflux.. if the potential pain is worth it to you, then go for it.. but telling you the truth-- i would just do what i was told to do, to avoid harm to myself & any potential complications.
