Question about no lifting after surgery

I was told nothing over 8lbs (weight of a gallon of milk) for 6 weeks... I have a sturdy 6 month old granddaughter.. I lugged her 23lb butt around too early and paid for it in soreness but nothing else and I was careful. I didn't pick her up, but would have her handed to me seated and then I did walk around with her and lay her on my bed to change, etc... This was one week out -
I've been super sick with a kidney infection... High fevers and vomiting.. Took in 10 or so oz of water yesterday and so far about the same today.. Sipping but vomiting and gave to be careful... Is it more dangerous being 3 1/2 weeks out from surgery than any other time? Haven't eaten either, but know that's Ok for a few days. Should I bother the surgeon with this question?

Grandbaby here this weekend. I've sort of hurt my incisions lugging her around. Can it damage anything? Two week out on Monday....she's about 23lbs. [ATTACH]10006[/ATTACH]

I wasn't allowed to drink for 24 hours but I was rocking a tiara down the halls in a few hours from surgery... I was brought one oz of room temp water. . Drank it like a shot of tequila so the advanced me to 3 oz of water and 1 oz of protein.. No leak test... Then I came home a few hours later! Even took a shower! It was the easiest part... I wish I could be a surrogate for those who struggle -

The first 20 hours are a lil rough and it gets exponentially better each day! Very little pain ever... I didn't take any pain meds after 24 hours... Not ever tylenol! -

Mine too! It slipped up on me too... Do not believe those who say since you're on liquids there's nothing to go.... Not true! You will get super constipated... Maybe it Protein and pain meds -

When I I'm ketosis... Years ago following Protein Power Diet I could taste that terrible metallic taste in the back of my throat... Haven't had that yet, but I don't do as low carbs as I used to... I kept them below 20...now I hang between 30-50

Does everyone fear this? Once installed eating real food after 2 weeks on clear liquids post op I gained about a pound and haven't lost any in a week! I've been eating real food for 7 days now... Very upset and scared I WILL be the one that doesn't lose the weight

Still haven't lost any in 10 days.... 3 weeks post op today! I read people say you're losing inches and in didn't think they were lying, just wrong about me... I had a pair of jeans I bought on clearance that were waaaay to small pre-op... I got them on tonight! I mean... I could wear them in public! LOL -

No! I will be three weeks tomorrow... I saw my surgeon on Friday before my two weeks. He advanced me to soft foods. Whamo! My weight loss stopped! I can't seem to make it start again. I watch carbs and eat lean Protein. At a loss too, but I am taking comfort in it will pass
