FEBRUARY SLEEVERS 2013....how you doing after you've been Sleeved
Mastiff_mama replied to DivaNurse's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The first month! And if i lie down too soon after eating my stomach really goes wild even nearly a 2 months out, but it's a lot quieter now than early on! -
I can't imagine... My preop was two shakes and one small low carb meal a day for one week. Also, raw veggies were free when I was too hungry

Wow! I hope I will be able to eat like that when I am further out. Because I am Ok losing slow! I'm averaging about 4 lbs a week and that's fine to me! Today I had a 1/4 cup of orzo kale salad 1/4 peanut butter sandwich. I found a store that let's you make your own peanut butter in store!!! I used the unsalted peanuts! About a cup of watermelon cubes... I need to choke down a protein shake before bed lol -

Weight in stomach
Mastiff_mama replied to katsmeow's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Apples, like me, are typical diabetic bodies! I've only lost 30 so fat, but I've noticed that rock hard tire around my upper belly is softer and more pliable! My bird legs are a lot birdier and have sagging skin in my upper inner thighs and a little over my knees! Wish I'd done this 20 years ago! -
Please be honest...

I do, when I want one... About 3 a week and an occasional glass if iced tea -

Me too! Even bad enough I throw up! Started right after week 6! And only once after I ate! Yesterday i didn't eat at all and about 11 pm I was so sick... I ended up T McDonald's and got a small hamburger. And some tea. I felt like a new person! I ate again an hour later and way completely normal until I woke up this morning and started the nausea all over again! So weird! -

Inwas walking a few hours after surgery... To me, this surgery was a piece of cake compared to others I've had.. Only thing the nausea the first day was tough
-
I didn't... Mine were glued a d all you were supposed to do was shower and let the water run down... No rubbing, no nothing! For sure no ointments
-
It would be hard to wear pj with the cath and the ivs
-
I don't need help moving a bowl, but sometimes I need help moving my bowels! Lol couldn't resist!
-
I'd been there there a week! Lol also use that breathing thing-a-magig.... It will reduce the fever you'll probably have that makes you feel crappy!!!!

I am hungry more often than I was presurgery, but a small snack of something will stop the feeling. Some on here will says it's impossible to be hungry after surgery, that's simply not true. Some will say you're not hungry, it's just acid, that's simply not true either. Ghrelin isn't the only thing that makes you hungry! And empty stomach will! Also, the part of the stomach they remove isn't the only part of the body that produces ghrelin. Also, if you drink too soon after eating you will wash the food out of your sleeve and be hungry again sooner than if you set a timer and do not drink! Hope that helps a little -
It was a piece of cake! The first 20 or so hours are fairly rough, but only the nausea... Pain wise it was pretty easy. I came home the next day and after a day I was pretty much normal! Other than eating, if course. I know at 50 I won't lose like a 25 year old. My doc says women at my age lose, but it doesn't fall off! I had a lower bmi which he says is another strike against me... But the point is... I am losing!!!!!!!
