48 Hours Post Op with food cravings (HELP)
Mastiff_mama replied to Sleeve Goddess's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't want to discourage, but cravings are super hard to get rid of! It's like in your stage, you want what you can't have! I was really hungry too. Here's what I did. I bought a whole chicken, an onion, carrots, celery and made some chicken broth by cooking it all together. Then I took the meat off one thigh, a small amount of the veggies and blended them really well and stirred them back into the broth. It made the broth soooo yummy! About 2 weeks post op I added a little instant potatoes until they were super runny and ate it with a fork so I only got what stayed on the tines. It saved me! PS... I added unflavored protein powder too! -

Ordering some nectar before surgery! I don't know how I would have made it the first few days and weeks without it! I couldn't stand the chocolate or anything with milk! It just tasted like sludge. It's not uncommon to not be able to tolerate milk post op. I don't work for them or anything lol just know how much it helped me! I have the cappuccino and roadside lemonade too, I prefer the fuzzy navel. I start my morning off with one and I have a head start on my protein! I like the cappuccino, but it's really too sweet, but if you love sweet coffee you'll love it

Are? I hear about them on Facebook, etc... A good low carb sweet treat is all I can gather

what is your favorite snack post op

I'm not allowed nuts until 3 months, but sure and follow your doctor's orders. I think nuts can get stuck in staple line and cause serious issues -

I got the black and decker on amazon. I love it and love I can switch attachments and use loose coffee -
Then eat! LOL just kidding sort of, I've been hungry ever since surgery. I mean when my stomach is empty I know it! I am also hungrier more often. Some believe you won't be hungry after surgery, but it's not true for all of us. I am almost 8 weeks out and I get hungry everyday, but it's more at appropriate times. You'll find a little protein will fill you up nicely and you'll get hungry faster when you eat carbs without protein, like a piece of fruit.

Anyone else need medication for nerve pain?
Mastiff_mama replied to JennyBeth's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Google b-6 great for nerves -
I have had a month of nausea, but knew it was getting back on my victoza. It is a morning sickness or car sick feeling. As that was subsiding I started a little different sort of nausea with intermittent vomiting. It started around week six and was not eating related, mostly. Only once did I throw up after eating. My doc called me in some zofran tablets (non sublingual). A day or two before that I didn't eat the entire day because of the extreme queasiness. I finally nibbled on something and it got better. I ended up pigging out as much as we can! I felt better than ever! Soooo, here's what I figured out... The queasiness now us made better by eating! I am too queasy in the morning to even think about eating. I wake an hour or so earlier to take a zofran and lay back down and eat when I get back up and feel better all day. I said all that to say this... Think it could just be hunger that's causing the nausea? I've seen tons of posts about people getting nausea and/or vomiting about this far out. I hope it's temporary! I don't wanna have to take zofran just to eat! I have lost myself with my ramble, hope someone understand this! Just really frustrated

I seem to drink all the time! I have to admit, when I am queasy I only take small sips. Would not getting enough water cause vomiting? I get close to 64 if not more... I don't measure, but think dehydration isn't an issue. I had a UA the other day and one indicator for dehydration was normal, but that's not definitive -

I'd also go by what your nut says. There are a ton if opinions here and I wouldn't say any are wrong! I can't eat protein and nothing else. I would totally goof up! There are some who suggest no carbs T all, again not necessarily a good thing. Also, do your own research! Your brain needs carbs to function properly! I strive to stay between 30-50 grams a day, but don't always stay there... I think you're doing great! Like someone said... 4 lbs a week is great! Water and protein are super important, but if you're getting in what YOUR nut says get some fruit or whole grain! It will pep you up!

7 weeks too and lost the exact same amount, but I keep telling myself only 60 more to goal!
