  1. I had mine a day before you...I have no issues getting enough Fluid or Protein and had the same fear! I think we had exceptional surgeons who did such an awesome job we have little swelling or trauma. My incisions don't even really hurt. I've bounced back quickly and I'm 50 years old!

    Who's getting sleeved February 18?!?!

They seem to not know or care! Great docs but hus nurse seems a bit bitchy! Had him paged last night over 101 per orders. He told ne ti take tylenol and call the next morning. Had a terrible night with hard chilling and fever only breaking for a while before spiking. Bud nurse says "its not uncommon for wls patients to run a fever...keep walking" fever coming back tonight and I am feeling like crying! I feel so good other than that and hunger. I am sick already of sweet Protein shakes and water!

I did both, but I had the least amount if surgery pain I've ever felt with any surgery ....surgery pain was the least of by issues....nothing really. Pretty easy considering what just happened! I am just really hungry. I hoped that part would be easy!

    panic X 2

I had surgery Monday....can do about anything I want. Sat and had a drink (crystal light) with a friend and drank it normally 48 hours out. Protein will go down fairly easily, but nothing like water. Doc has be taking my meds whole so there is some discomfort when the pills hit my sleeve, but nothing more than a semi-intense spasm. ....panic number one! Why does a girl 5 days out have to drink an oz of water in 3 sips and I can take it like a shot if whiskey? Does everyone fear their sleeve is too big and this was a waste of misery? Panic number 2 ....ran a fever in the hosp the entire time. Ran a fever at home but was told to call if it got above 101°. It did last night, I called, take two tylenol and call in the morning. All night ran a high fever all night. Tylenol would bring it to 100° but it would shoot back up to 103° when it wore off ....fell asleep finally and woke to a temp of 97.7° so when I called all was well! They weren't concerned. I still am! Temp of 103° isn't a fluke? Right?

    Normal to eat this much?

I am only 2 days out so not eating food, but I an shocked how quickly I can sip sip away at a protein shake! I can drink 10-12 oz shake in no time flat! I can drink water or crystal light no differently than before. Some of this maybe because my surgeon does not let you have anything for 24 hours after surgery. Maybe it gives the sleeve more healing time. Hope that's it!

    Who's getting sleeved February 18?!?!

I am shocked at how well I am going! I can take regular drinks and not tiny sips. I am drinking 8-10 oz of Protein in about 30 mines....the sleeve spasams are better each hour! I sat and had a glass if lemonade with one if my friends and drank it like a normal person!

You have very little gas in your sleeve. The gas they they pump into your abdomen has to be worked out by moving around and let it work its way out and into your blood. Sometimes it will press on your diaphragm and cause pain in your chest or shoulders. Walking or moving is the only way to get it gone. I had no issues

    spasms

Is it typical to have spasms with each sip of water? The bigger the sip the harder the spasm. Protein is sickening sweet. I think I will drink some skimmed milk to get some protein
  15. I can't seem to get in protein and water. I took my nightly medicine (pills) some wouldn't fo down and cane back up, some took too much water to get down. My sleeve itself hurts. Like a cramp it spasam. I've had a fever since surgery. Are all these common? Also haven't bee. Without a headache since right after surgery. I actually work this morning thinking I'm hungry. I've had about 4 oz of protein since surgery. I didn't get to sipbanything until 24 hours after surgery
