Susie in Lima replied to buffythefatslayer's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I never liked pics either but I am so thankful that I did a set of before pics. I am not even a month out and I took pics at the same place, same pose a few days ago and I can already see a Big difference. Of course, no one will see these pics except me and my husband but it really does help to motivate you! -
What Are Some Products That You Rely On For Your Wl Journey?
Susie in Lima posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey Friends, Ok it is getting close to a month since my sleeve yeah! But since I live out of the US at the moment, I don't have access to lots of things that you guys do. I have a friend who is headed to the US in a few weeks and said that she would bring me back 30 pounds of stuff. Could you guys please give me some suggestions of things you really rely on to help you in this journey....vitamins, Protein, foods etc? Things that have really been a big help to you! (Even things to fight hair loss.) Please be specific if you can with brand names. Thanks for the help! I really do appreciate it! -

Thinking of you! Praying for you as you recover! -
Maybe you can try doing just clear liquids for a little while. I am 4 weeks out and still not cleared to eat half the stuff that you listed. I would also let my surgeon know if I were you! Hope you feel better soon!

Omg Can I Make It Through This
Susie in Lima replied to Mslnzee2010's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just get through the pre-op diet and the post op will be much easier. (Not easy but easier since you arent so hungry all the time) You can do this!!!!!!!!! -
That sounds wonderful! I have a room in my home that is our "home gym" and all three of us exercise in there. I am 3 weeks out and still have not been cleared for exercise yet. My surgeon says that I have to wait until after 5 weeks! I am so ready to get busy and get at it! Funny how drs are different! Good job on your journey thus far. Soon we will both be fit as a fiddle! Have a great day!

Before And After
Susie in Lima replied to kmbrlycool's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Woo-HOO! Looking good! -
I had it right after surgery. I wasnt eating yet but it was saliva that begins to come up and fill up your mouth. I constantly kept papertowels near me because it just came out of nowhere. It doesnt hurt, it is just gross. I havent had it since the 2nd day in the hospital.

Hey there, congrats on setting a date. I was sleeved on the 11th (so 17 days out). A couple of suggestions, go ahead and wean yourself off of sodas and caffeine if you haven't already. Also, try to work on not drinking with your meals or 30 minutes before/after your meals. The reason I said this is because today I went out to lunch with some friends for the first time and I realized how difficult it was not to drink with them (just water) before the meal got there. I would also go ahead and investigate Protein Shakes if your dr has that on your menu. See which ones you like, maybe see if they have samples etc before investing lots of money in something that you cant stand. Also, read, read, read about the surgery, ask all the questions you can and be as informed as you can! Good luck and congrats! See you on the losers bench before you gals know it!

4 Weeks Post-Op...tired!
Susie in Lima replied to kellyq's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
KellyQ, since we are so close in Sleeve time, I was wondering how much water/fluids you are consuming per day. When asked, my dr said I should just watch the color of my urine to ensure that I am drinking enough. I am a very organized person and would prefer to be told how much to drink. Right now it isnt a problem because I am on a liquid diet but just wondering how much someone at this point has been told to drink. Thanks! -
4 Weeks Post-Op...tired!
Susie in Lima replied to kellyq's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 17 days sleeved and the past two days I have been so tired too, wondering if it is normal or not as well. Feel like I could go get back in my warm bed (it is cold and gloomy here so that may have something to do with it). Before we know it , we will be bouncing around like energizer bunnies! Hope yours and my energy level increases soon. Have a super day! (By the way, I have not started my puree diet yet, still one more week on full liquids. I will be so happy to be on the purees!) -

Susie in Lima replied to mrs sandy r's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is exactly what my doctor said!!! That my nausea was caused by me talking. Now I thought he was coooky because I am in a third world country and they have myths and wives tales but maybe he was right. -
Did You Name Your Sleeve?
Susie in Lima replied to LawDiva312's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I nicknamed mine Dolores while I was in the hospital on pain meds. I live in a Spanish speaking country and dolores means pain. haha -
It wont be long till you are up and at em! Just realize that the pain and inconvenience is temporary but this new journey is for a lifetime. Hoping that you feel well and pain free today!
