My NUT allows a cup of coffee twice a day with milk. (Cafe con leche here in Peru) I have never touched coffee so I dont know how it actually affects the body but I am allowed it. Hope your stall ends soon! Just keep you the good work!

Anyone Else Cranky?
Susie in Lima replied to Fitjen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 6 weeks out and havent been cranky but I have been feeling a little down in the dumps for a few weeks. No reason for it either so I just am chalking it up to hormones and crazy things going on in my body. Hope you feel better soon! -
Everything Tastes Weird
Susie in Lima replied to chad2rad's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Things WILL get better. I remember around the 3 week mark thinking "What the heck have I done". I was tired of all the yogurts and liquids and nothing tasted good but yet I was hungry! I am about a month and 1/2 out and have started having more energy, able to eat more and actually feeling full (since I have started solids) I doubt I will ever eat yogurt or sweet things like that again! (I hope not because sweets were my downfall so I am ok with not liking them now) Chin up, it will get better!!!! Praying that tomorrows lunch works for you! (Good to be prepared!) -
Had Endoscopy Today - It Wasn't Bad
Susie in Lima replied to Boofster's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes I believe it is pretty much a normal procedure. It isnt any big deal though because you literally dont remember anything. A friend of mine had one today and her husband called and told me that when her dr was waking her up, she looked at him and said "You are so handsome" the dr said "Debbie, your husband is in here with you" she said "I dont care because you are so handsome!" haha She doesnt remember a thing!!!! Or so she says...... ahaha -
Hey I took your advice and finally had the time and all the ingredients to make this and I am eating it right now! You are right, it is mighty yummy! As my son sits and eats his delivered Papa Johns pizza, I am eating my fake lasagna and very content. My son even tried some and liked it. Thanks for the heads up! Any other home run recipes are appreciated!

Congratulations! -
It will transform your life! I just took a bath and when I got out of the tub I was not only extremely happy in the fact that I can use a regular towel instead of a beach towel, that I dont have any trouble shaving my legs anymore and that getting out of the tub isnt difficult at all! And that is just one aspect of my life! AND I have only been sleeved for a month and 1/2. Good luck to you!!!!!

Great job! Keep up the great work! -
How exciting! We all had lots of panic moments before and I had a couple after wonder what I had done. But I can tell you it has been worth it so far. I am finding a new relationship with food that I have never had before and like an old boyfriend, I wonder why i was so obsessed with it. It definitely does not hold its power over me like before. Just relax, take deep breaths and get ready for an adventure. Keep us updated.

Feeling Blue Today...
Susie in Lima replied to GeauxForIt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just keep telling yourself that this is just temporary! Before you know it, you will be eating more substantial food, having more energy AND the scale will be moving and your clothes will be feeling looser! Watch a funny movie, go on a walk, call a friend. It does get better! -

Happiness Is.......
Susie in Lima replied to Debswrld's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
sleeping so much better without my chest crushing my throat/neck! And also being able to use a real bath towel instead of a jumbo sized beach towel! And the fact that I have finally realized that I am loosing weight!!!! It feels good! -
Woo-hoo! You go girl!!!!!! Such an inspiration!

It is hard right now I know!!! But after the surgery it does get better. The worst is just the monotony of it all, so if you can get a variety of things even flavors, maybe it will help! Just keep telling yourself that this is only temporary and that before you know it, you will be sleeved and on the loosers bench! You can do it!!!! When you find yourself tempted to cheat, go do something, like take a walk or call someone who can support you. Really, you CAN do it!

Pre Op Frustrations!
Susie in Lima replied to racoon_439's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes and you will be surprised at how quickly things change once you get the surgery done. Of course it wont be immediate, but I am only a little over a month sleeved and am surprised at how many things in my body/life have improved. Be encouraged! Things will get better! -
Aetna Sleevers Please Help If You Can, My World May Have Just Crumbled.
Susie in Lima replied to Raven21's topic in Insurance & Financing
Just take a deep breath and try to calm down. I had the similar, although I didnt have your same insurance, It had been over the two year mark since I had seen a nutritionist, but I wrote down everything I had done, in detail, submitted it and they accepted it. All you can do is give them the info and see if they will go for it. Hoping you can get it approved! -
You look great! I will take a little loose skin on my tummy over being obese any day! On my way!!!! I started at 239 so I look forward to taking a pic like that one day!

Now that I am on solids, I am feeling much much better. Lots more energy etc. Just hang on and you will feel better soon! As far as exercise is concerned, my dr and nut still will not release me until 2 weeks on solids, so I have another week to go! I couldnt have even thought about it when I felt so weak! Now I think I am just about ready!

September Sleevers Whatcha Eatin'
Susie in Lima replied to gorjess907's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was sleeved on 9/11/2012 and was recently allowed to eat solid foods. My NUT gave me the following menu. (nothing fried) Breakfast: Light pita with either egg, sliced turkey, cheese or avacado. Lunch: 1 Protein, 1 carb, 1 veg Dinner: 1 protein, 1 veg 2 snacks: yogurt, fruit or light Jello I was told that I could eat avacado all day long. I have found that fish is much easier on my tummy than chicken but I can eat chicken. I am so happy being able to start actually eat something!!!! -
Exercise And Weight Loss After Surgery
Susie in Lima replied to Mrtiger1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am over a month sleeved and still have not been given permission to exercise. I went to the dr yesterday and was given my new menu which includes solids now, finally!!!! But I still have to wait 2 more weeks to begin any type of exercise. Not sure the rationale but this is what I have been instructed to do.
