No, but I have been doing her 30 day shred and it is a good 20 minute workout. Let me know how this one goes, I am interested! Keep it up!

The self control that we have is such a plus for sure!!! Great job, keep it up! Well I had my surgery about 8 months ago and had my first what I call screw up today. I really have been taking this seriously and havent done anything off my nutritionist plan but got to feeling a little down and lonely and within a split second of thinking of the little debbie cake that my son had left in the cabinet, it was out of the package and in my mouth. I knew exactly what i was doing and did not spit it out. Just trying to make sure that it is a one time occurrence and also knowing that it will happen again but making sure that tomorrow I am back on track.

Feeling regretful, does this pass?
Susie in Lima replied to BriDawn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just give yourself time sweetie. Take it day by day. You may have some times of wishing and wanting for the way you used to could eat and drink but just wait until those pounds start falling off and people start noticing and those thoughts will stay away for most of the time (sometimes they still creep in when I am stressed or lonely but I am more prepared to face it now) But know, that the decision you made is going to hopefully improve your health and life! You can do this, just take a walk, a bath, read a book or talk to a friend. You can do it!!! -

6 months out 87lbs gone...I'm stuck
Susie in Lima replied to ThurstT4life's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Just be patient, you will have a slow and steady weight loss. Just dont stress over it, the scale will eventually move. It will all be ok! (I have had to tell myself the same thing over and over hahaha) But really, just keep doing what you should be doing and the scale will respond when your body is ready. -
Having kind of the same issues. Wondering what type of things that you eat in between meals. Like deli meats and cheeses? Nuts, eggs, veggies, fruits, yogurts ??? I have been eating some of the Protein bars and while they do help the hunger, I feel like they are getting me back used to sweets again and I DO NOT WANT THAT! That was one of my problems to begin with. Anyway, any help would be appreciated!

Gall bladder or c section?
Susie in Lima replied to glitta114's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Had my gall bladder out first a few years ago and my vsg was less painful for sure. The gas pains were the worst part. Dont worry, the pain doesnt last long and the benefits are certainly worth it all!!!! -
Calling Cigna members approved for surgery....please share!
Susie in Lima replied to ajeeprider's topic in Insurance & Financing
Well I do know that Cigna is pretty quick about getting an answer back. I think it was like two weeks. BUT you need to continue to contact them off and on and see where it is at in the process. I had my surgery done with Cigna but I have a different plan than most because I have an international plan. So my experience probably would be different than what you have. I was pleased by the coverage that they gave and it seemed like they weren't too difficult with what they asked for in order to be approved. Hope you get approval! -

I actually just did this today! I am out almost 7 months and over 75 pounds. Today I went through my entire closet and chest of drawers and took out all the things too big for me and found a whole new wardrobe in the process! My maid was excited to get a bunch of new clothes and I was happy that there are only 2 pairs of pants that I have left that do not quite fit me, I wasnt expecting that. It was hard to get rid of all of my bigger clothes though and truth be told, I did stash away a few of my nicer bigger things just in case. I need to explore my feelings about that and just give them away but it was a fun day and my husband even noticed the pants I had on this evening as pants from when I was smaller, he was impressed. I still have about 20 pounds to go and I fear that I wont be able to fit into all this stuff for long but that is a good problem.

Has anyone lost there hair?
Susie in Lima replied to superchica879's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 7 months out and at about 4 months I noticed my hair falling out and it freaked me out since I DONT have much hair but I am almost at 7 months now and it has slowed down and even though I have naturally thin hair, no one, not even my husband noticed my hair loss. I have been taking Biotin and washing my hair with Garnier Fall fight shampoo and conditioner. I think both of those things help as well as making sure you get in all your protein and all your fluids. I can honestly tell you that the amount of hair loss I had was soooo worth it when I step on that scale or go to the doctor or go shopping for new clothes! -
The gas pain in my shoulders was the only pain that I had and so I walked as much as I could and that helped. I also was told to bring some GasX strips with me and they really helped. I promise it will be worth the little bit of discomfort you will endure!

How often do you weigh yourself
Susie in Lima replied to Joe I's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I weigh myself daily as well but I dont freak out when it doesnt move nor if it is up a little because history has proven to me that my weight is on the way down! BUT I had to prepare myself mentally for months to know that this is what to expect. (And I try to weigh myself at the same time each day with no clothes on. I also record each weight and this shows me patterns etc. It helps me) -
Just when I thought I was making progress
Susie in Lima replied to Susie1226's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just keep up the good work! It wont be long until there will be major evidence of your weight loss. I had my surgery almost 7 months ago and I can promise you, one day it will hit and EVERYONE will be talking about you and you will be the topic of conversation!! GOOD Conversation. Until then, just take what they say with a grain of salt and giggle a little knowing that you will have the last laugh. -

6 Month Post Op High Glucose and Insulin Tolerance Levels :(
Susie in Lima replied to Susie in Lima's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for the encouragement and support everyone. I guess I need to see what the good old doctor has to say. He is the one that took me off all my meds after surgery and I guess I just assumed that I was done with all that. Now, it makes me want to cry to know that I might be filling up my pill boxes again. But, we will see what the doctor has to say. I actually have been exercising 5 times a week between 45 minutes to an hour. My sweet husband turned our spare bedroom into a mini gym for us so we can do this together. On the positive side, I would have been taking all this medicine and still be 75 pounds or more overweight if I would not have done this. Feeling much better health wise and mentally. You all keep up the great work too! Have a super day! -
Hey there. Last Wednesday I got a phone call from my brother who said that my dad was being rushed to the emergency room with a brain bleed. OF course that sent me into a state of panic and stress well because he is my daddy and also because I am thousands of miles away in a different country. (Peru) I dont have the means to come back to the US so I am here getting reports every few hours by phone and although I am so thankful for technology, right now it just doesnt feel like it is enough. After my brother called and I began to process things, some of the first words out of my mouth were "I really want a coke" Funny how those old addictions can try to comfort you when stressed. I have also noticed that I have been grazing a bit more so I am really trying to watch what is going into my mouth and asking myself if I really am hungry when I do decide to eat. I have to admit, a couple of times I said to myself shut-up trying to analyze this and just eat it. Thankfully it was just a little granola so it wasnt devastating to my diet. I have also noticed and maybe I am wrong but I think that the stress is holding onto more of my weight. I have been doing ok with having small stalls but it seems like this stress has created a one. I am ok with it, knowing that it will ease up, but it sure would be helpful if the scale would move. Please send up prayers and good thoughts for me and my daddy if you would. Looks like it is going to be a long uphill battle for him. He has woken up a few times to only open his eyes for a brief second. They think that he can hear us and understand us and I was able to talk to him yesterday via skype which was difficult to see him like that. Anyway, any suggestions or encouragements of how to deal with stress besides going into the kitchen would be helpful today. I also dont want to turn one vice into another unless it is a healthy one. I am trying to exercise more to get my feelings worked out. Hugs to all! Susie

When I had my gall bladder problems it was under my right rib cage, I think that gall bladder problems are quite common after bariatric surgery. You might want to contact your surgeon and ask him about checking it. Hope you feel better soon!

Pre-Op diet is making me weak, suggestions please.
Susie in Lima replied to Patienlywtng on my Curves's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hope you feel better soon. If you are getting at least 4 in, and the dr said between 3-6 that is good I would think. I hope your energy increases soon! Did the surgeon order a specific brand of shake? I am assuming he did. If so, it wouldnt hurt to call and ask him about other options. HUGs!
