FEBRUARY SLEEVERS 2013....how you doing after you've been Sleeved
Shan1383 replied to DivaNurse's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had my sleeve done exactly one week ago today. I had some complications after surgery and I had to stay in the hospital for four days. Each day gets better but I still don't feel very good. I go for my post op appt. today so hopefully they can do something to help me. -
I am getting nervous. I am also having second thoughts. My twin sister was sleeved yesterday. She had some complications and had to stay an extra day in the hospital. She was in a lot of pain, throwing up blood and very nauseous. I really want this. She showed me her incisions and one of them looks bigger than I thought it would be. The doctor told us he was only going to make three incisions and he made four on my sister. I think I will just have to suck it up and just do it. Hopefully my sister can come home tomorrow. I am also worried about the scars. Any advice on how to make them go away.

Getting Sleeved On The 21st
Shan1383 replied to Shan1383's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah. He came out where the family waits and showed me pictures of before, where he was cutting part of the stomach off, where he did the sleeve with the staples and where he did the leak test. He does it the same day. It was very interesting. I am just happy that she is more alert now. I can't wait for her to come home. -
I received my surgery date yesterday of 02/21/2013. My twin sister is also having the surgery on 02/07/2013. We are excited and nervous at the same time. We are having the surgery by the same doctor. We only have to do one day liquid diet the day before surgery. Anybody have any advice for us leading up to the surgery and what to expect right after the surgery.

Thanks. I hope you have a speedy recovery as well. We are having the surgery done by Dr. Nusbaum in NJ. -
My twin sister and i are doing this together. We are having the surgery by the same doctor. We had to do six months with a nutritionist and yesterday was our final appt. Just waiting for them to resubmit all the paperwork back to the insurance company. Oxford requires that you do six months first. So hopefully we will be getting our surgery date by next feel. Feeling super excited!

My sister and i are having our surgery next month by Dr. Nausbaum. His office is in Livingston but we are having it at Morristown Hospital. We have Oxford and we were also required to do six months with a nutritionist. Next week will be the end of the six months and then they will submit all the paperwork back to the insurance company. Oxford/UHC is the same company so i know alot of their policies are the same. Hopefully we will get a surgery date soon. I don't find alot of ppl from nj on here so im happy to have found you.
