I have irritable bowel syndrome. Probiotics is a large part of my daily regimen. I swear by them. I talked to my surgeon and he is very on board with it. I am on a regimen of fiber as well. It is important for me to be diligent in order for me to be 'regular' and minimize my IBS flare-ups.

My surgeon offers two companies. One is www.carecredit.com. The other is www.unitedmedical credit.com. I hope this helps. I'm not sure of the interest rates. -

5 Things You're Looking Forward To!
Joisey01 replied to Raven21's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I want to: be off all of my medications fit in an airplane seat without infringing upon my neighbor's space walk to my heart's content not sweat to death after picking up something off the floor to have my husband be able to put his arms all the way around me. It's the simple things in life. -
Did/does Anyone Else Feel This Way?
Joisey01 replied to DanaInNewOrleans's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a nightmare about this very thing. The only one who couldn't lose. I was ridiculed just as I was in Junior High. Thank you for putting this out there. You just made me feel a lot better that I'm not the only one thinking this won't work for me. -

I know I've already commented. I saw the two new pictures you posted. Don't you just feel AMAZING? Aren't you truly proud of your success? I don't even know you, but I would hug you and tell you that I'm proud of you! I have my surgery on the 20th. You are a huge inspiration to me to make it through this liquid diet. It's not horrible, but I've had my moments. Thank you for posting! -
I Need Drugs.... Soon :)
Joisey01 replied to Justine13's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am doing the same thing, Justine. No one has asked, though. Since I work for a local government, they know that they can't ask due to the privacy laws. No one has noticed the liquid diet as of yet. I'm day four. Hang in there and stay tough. -

Pre-Op / Post-Op Liquid Diet?
Joisey01 replied to scaredoftheunknown's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know things can get confusing at times. It can be pretty overwhelming. And...no question is dumb if you don't have the answer to it! Again, I haven't had my surgery (am in the liquid diet stage) yet but my doc said that I can have a low-fat chicken broth. I chose low sodium, too. Store brand is fine. If you make your own, just watch the fat content you use (and remove) while cooking it. I'm only allowed 1 a day because he wants us to be as close to 800 calories as possible. The chicken broth is a nice change of pace from the sweet stuff (I am not a sweet fan). I will be on liquid and full liquids for 6 weeks post-op. I hope this helps just a little. -
Today Was The Day.....that I Threw Up!
Joisey01 replied to Sleevedreamz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
OH NO!!!!! I'm so sorry! I haven't had surgery yet. I was afraid I would do that as well! When you're thirsty (I know it's a learned process, but still.....) you take a drink. I have been practicing sipping. I get it right about 1/2 of the time! At least it was Water and not coffee. I am NOT a fan of throwing up...... A hard lesson learned. I hope I learn it, too! -
YAY YOU!!!!!!!!! Congratulations!

From Grey To Brown?
Joisey01 replied to lollyfidy1965's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If that is a side effect of the sleeve surgery, I want two surgeries! I turned gray when I was 21. It would be wonderful to be an awesome auburn again! Either way, it's all good. I just want off my meds. If I get a bonus hair color change in the process, I won't complain!!! -
I Need A Lil Help Please:)
Joisey01 replied to livinglifejohnson's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi! You should be drinking Meal Replacement Protein shakes. I use GNC Lean shake 25. I am allowed 4 a day. They have 200 calories each and 25 grams of protein. It is important to have the meal replacement Protein Shakes because of the additional nutrients in it. I hope this helps a little bit for you. Good luck! -
Hi there! My doctor does require a 2 week liquid diet. He requires Meal Replacement shakes up to 800 calories. My shakes have 25 grams of Protein each in them and 200 calories each. I am allowed 4. You can drink all the sugar-free drinks you want (Crystal Light, Water, coffee (artificial sweetener and no cream), sugar-free Jello and sugar free popsicles. I just started my liquid diet on Thursday. It's been going pretty well, for the most part. I just always have a drink next to me and drinking constantly. I hope this helps a little. Good luck!

12 Weeks Out With Pics

Wow! So beautiful! Good job and Congratulations!! -
Hi Everyone! I hope you're having a wonderful Sunday. It's nice and cool here in Texas with a temperature of 71°. Before I started my liquied pre-op diet, I was afraid of getting my infamous hunger headaches which turn into migraines 9 out of 10 times. I have not had 1 headache! With only 800 calories a day, I was afraid. Switching over to the GNC Lean shake 25 has made a huge difference. It actually fills me up! I'm down a total of 8 lbs since I started on Thursday.

I don't think it's strange. I went through my anxiety a couple of weeks ago. Now that I'm 12 days away from surgery, I'm actually pretty psyched about it. I'm mentally prepared and getting more and more excited. I hope you do well!!

Dr. Kelly's Patients Pre-Op Diet
Joisey01 replied to CCCross's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
My surgeon, Dr. Kim, requires 2 weeks of liquid diet. The Protein shakes must be Meal Replacement. I am using GNC Lean shake 25. Dr. Kim has me on an 800 calorie diet. I am allowed to have sugar-free popsicles, Chrystal Light, Jello, one serving of low fat-low sodium chicken broth a day. All that goes in my mouth must be sugar-free. I'm finishing day 3 tonight. I lost 7 lbs. Mostly Water weight, I'm sure. Good luck!
