I chose not to tell co-workers about my VSG. A new employee was informed by our co-workers that I had my "stomach stapled." New employee told me. Since I never told them in the 1st place, why are they telling others? The person talking is one of the largest people I know, so I would think she would be more understanding.

Co-Workers Talking About Me!
Sue Vsg Bariatric replied to Sue Vsg Bariatric's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I did not tell anyone except my husband and my sister, who lives in another state. It has to be speculation. The new co worker said she has seen me eat and there is no way I could've had a bypass and eat that much (I know tricks for making it look like I've eaten alot). I told her she was right...I DID NOT have a bypass. LOL!! -
Does Anyone Else Have Problems With Their Coworkers?
Sue Vsg Bariatric replied to tinkerbell19's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Since losing from a size 20/22 to an 8/10, overweight 'friends' treat me differently more than anyone else. I didn't tell coworkers about WLS, and some have asked me directly. I always say I eat a low carb diet with small portions and exercise. I did tell church members. One church 'friend' said "I want to lose weight, but I don't want have to do it like you did." Honestly, people should just chill... -
If You Had The Choice - Would You Do It Again?
Sue Vsg Bariatric replied to Babysteppin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 5'1" and it probably seems like I'm whining, but I really want to be in that "normal" BMI range. It is SO close but frustrating that the weight loss has stopped. I'm going to get back to basics and track everything I put into my mouth. I injured my hip a few months ago and was unable to run. The ortho doc and PT said I still cannot run, but can start walking now. Maybe it will pick up with excercise. THank you for the motivation! -
If You Had The Choice - Would You Do It Again?

Thank you for the encouragement and much-needed pep talk. I am much smaller now, so I SHOULD be happy! I would love to see "normal" one day, so I WILL redouble efforts and get back to basics. :-) -

I'm 5'1" and so I have to be 132 to be a normal BMI. Yes, what I've lost is great, but it would be even better to be normal one day and not overweight. It is depressing that the weight loss has frozen. -
Weight Loss Has Stopped 1 Year Out!
Sue Vsg Bariatric posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 1 year, 1 month out from VSG and my weight loss totally stopped in early June. I am SO upset. I have 13 more pounds to lose just to be at a "normal" BMI. I am SO sad! How much longer do we lose weight with VSG? Has my sleeve stretched??? Just wondering if anyone else had this problem? I was 233, then on my surgery date, I had lost to 217. I am now 145. at 5'1",.... Maybe go back to basics...measuring, tracking...ugh. That's why I had the VSG, so I wouldn't have to keep track! Thanks for any help! -
If You Had The Choice - Would You Do It Again?

NO. I would have the gastric bypass instead. Everyone I was in support groups pre-op who had the same amount of weight to lose as me (1 year ago) is already smaller than me. My weight loss has stopped and theirs has not. I may never be a normal BMI and they will or already are. Lots of regret....but on the flipside, I was 233 and now I'm 145. Just not "normal" in the BMI yet. -
Are there any SIZE Goal sleevers out there?
Sue Vsg Bariatric replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Pre-op, I was a 18/20 on the top and 20/22 for pants. I said at the time that I would be happy just seeing a 10/12 again. Now that I'm in a 10, I would rather be a 6/8. So, guess we are never happy just where we are. If I don't lose another pound or go down another size, at least I am in way better shape physically (no hyperlipidemia or sleep apnea) than I was a year ago. Still, I'd rather be smaller and sometimes wish I'd had the bypass. -
Long-Term Vsg: When Did You Feel Like Capacity Stabilized/"stopped Growing"?
Sue Vsg Bariatric replied to sirensiren's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Calories vary for me - so does the amount of food that will fit. It all depends upon what I put in my mouth....just like before surgery. If I sit down to eat one meal and do not graze, I can fit 3/4 cup to 1 cup of food, again, depending upon the density of the food. Grazing or eating junk will up the calories for the same amount of food. Generally, in one sitting, no more than 1 cup will fit, if that.
