How many vets are actually AT goal and staying there?
tparkerc59 replied to clk's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
Why does this have to be so hard for us? I guess some of us just have to log every bite, watch what we do and be very vigilant. It's hard to see other family members and friends eat what they want and stay trim. The sleeve has made an enormous difference in my life and I'm grateful, but it truly is only a tool not a magic bullet. I get so tired of people saying I took the easy way out. Walking 6 miles everyday and logging every morsel of food I eat to keep my Protein high, carbs/sugar low and calories at about 1000 is not particularly "easy". I was secretly hoping it was a magic bullet! LOL. I am obsessed with what and how much I eat just and how steps I've walked about every waking minute. Okay...rant over, back to counting and logging. -

I need belly sx as well...but I dread recovery from this surgery. I hear its much worse than our original sleeve surgery. -
I was driving myself totally insane weighing everyday. I'm one of those overly compulsive girls that freak out at the least little gain. I have become much more saner weighing ONLY on Saturday morning.

Sorry to ask a dumb question but what does TDEE mean? Thanks for responding

Thanks for the info on quest bars. I, too, love them but at least for now, one totally satisfies me and fills me up. I will monitor how they make me feel. -

Is it bad to eat a Quest bar everyday as one meal? I find they help me get my protein in and they are so much easier for me to digest then other protein? -

Is it realistic to not tell anyone I'm having surgery?
tparkerc59 replied to lyndeeboo's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
For what it's worth, I told people about my surgery. Most we're supportive, some curious, a few appalled I would do that! Lol. I have a hard time keeping secrets, so telling was the best way for me. No one has said to me that it was the easy way out..,.most have said it must have taken a lot of courage. Good luck on your journey, no matter you decide to say or not say, this is about getting your relationship with food on track so ignore unhelpful comments. -

My weight is still coming off about the the same....I average 2-2-1/2 lbs. a week. I was sleeved 11/6/12. Starting weight 251, current weight 177. I'm 5'2". Haven't had any major stalls. It's just been slow and steady. Bought a fitbit device 10 days ago and have been doing 10,000 steps a day, which entails either a morning walk or an evening walk. I'm hoping that will result in a good loss when I weigh on Sat. Congrats to all. -
