  3. I haven't had surgery yet, but I've read alot of different postings about individuals having trouble with loose skin after weight loss and this is a huge concern of mine. I've heard that body wraps can help with contouring and firming the skin, and I just wanted to see if anyone has tried body wraps for weight loss and skin firming? How did it work and how off then did you get them? And did you notice a change?

    Body Wraps...do They Really Work?

Hmm...Well I think I am going to try a few sessions prior to surgery and see if it helps any and I will give an update! I would still love to hear some feed back from anyone who has had some type of body wraps or skin scrub done...
  5. I was curious as to if anyone ever read any of the weight loss surgery books (For example weight loss surgery for dummies and etc). Are they worth purchasing? If so, what books do you suggest?

    Hello All!

Hey Everyone, Im started my process as of Aug 30th. I am very excited about it and I am from Columbus and decided to have my surgery at Riverside Hospital through the Fresh Start Program. So far, so good. I've heard good things about Dr. Tracy Pitts and Tom Sonnastine. I have decided which one will do my surgery yet, but it really doesnt matter as long as it is done right. My goal is to get approved and hopefully have surgery before the end of the year.

Weight Loss Surgery Books Pre And Post

Well when you put it that way...You are so right... I have found alot of good information online. I was looking into a book for my mom who isn't really into computers. I know once I tell her I am having surgery, she is going to have a crap load of questions. So I thought a book would help with some of the questions....
  9. I agree that some people do allow other people to influence other's decisions, but my mind is made up (especially Since I started investing money into this). I plan on telling more people (such as my mom, dad and sisters) once I get approved and scheduled.
  10. Hey everyone...I'm new to the site but i've been lerking around for a little while now...I decide that I want to have the Sleeve surgery and I started my process as of August the 30th. I am so excited to get this thing on the road...but no ones knows about my excitement (except you guys now...lol). I'm so nervous to tell anyone, especially my family about my plans to have surgery for weight loss. My biggest thing is I don't want to hear a whole bunch of grief about " your young enough to lose it I on my own" or "eat less, work out more" blah blah blah...I'm 26 years old and I been considering this surgery for at least the last 2 year, I've tried working out, dieting...all of the above and it hasn't worked (Sorry for venting) But to get to the question...My question to you all is how do you tell someone that your having this surgery, how did they react and at what point did you mention it to your friends, family and etc that you was getting surgery... Thanks for reading...
  11. I feel where your coming from...
  12. I've already post this in the pre surgery section but I thought I'd get a better response here since everyone has "been there done that"...I'm new to the site but i've been lerking around for a little while now...I decide that I want to have the Sleeve surgery and I started my process as of August the 30th. How And When Did You...

So at what point did you guys tell your family? When you first started looking in VSG? When you got your surgery date? Please share...

    How And When Did You...

Well as of today I decided to test the waters and tell someone that is close to me. I told my "guyfriend", well better yet...I texted my "guyfriend"...I was that nervous...and to my suprise...he was very supportive. He thinks its a extreme move (which it is) but I explained him my reasonings for this and he accepted it. I feel so much better being that I know I can talk to him about this, and knowing the biggest thing he's not going to judge me for it..Now I got to work myself up to talk to my mom about it...that's going to be the kicker...Thanks you guys for taking the time to respond
  17. Well I took some of you guys advice and I test the water and told my guyfriend...I was really nervous, I was so nervous that I just told him in text message. And to my suprise he actually made me feel better about telling him. I told me he would be very supportive. For granted he did have a lot of question as to why I wanted to go this route and he thinks its an extreme move (in which I do agree with him), but at the same time I told him this is something I made my mind up about and there is no changing it. But overall I explained him the overall "big picture" for my reasoning. So, sooner than later I got to gather some courage to tell my mom...that's going to be the kicker there...
  18. That is something I am worried about with my mom. She gave so much grief with my God mom about her surgery. She always says that "she just should of had a brest reduction" "She wasn't that big to have the surgery"...on and on..I just know me and I don't want to hold grudges because of a certain comment...
  19. Thank you guys for your response, as of right now I really don't plan on telling anyone until I have to or until I am actually approved for surgery through insurance. Its not that I am shamed of my plans for surgery, I just don't want to hear all the opinions. And I don't want the suggest on what I can do when chances are, i've already tried it. All I want is support without any feedback. They don't have to approve of my decision but I just want the respect....ugh this is on my mind heavily...
  20. I'm excited...I'm finially making a change for a better me
