  2. Its not reflex, but gas from surgery. Its hard for me to get my liquids down because I don't have an appetitie and i'm just not hungry so thats why its so hard for me to get liquids down
  3. Hey you guys...I hope someone has been or is currently in my situation and can shead some light on my current situation. My surgeon is sending me to do a Gastric Emptying Study to see if I have Gastroparesis or better known as Delayed Gastic Emptying? Now with that being said, he is not canceling my surgery that is suppose to be 1/3/13 but he said that most people who struggle with Gastroparesis do better with the Gastric Bypass (which I do not want). I would like to know if anyone has Delayed Gastric Emptying and has been sleeved and how are you doing with your sleeve? For those who havent been sleeved yet, is your surgeon ok with sleeving you knowing you have Gastroparesis? Has anyone surgery been delayed because of your Gastroparesis?
  4. WOw...that's crazy! I got sleeved 1/3 and since surgery its been hard for me to take liquids. It sounds like you need an second opinion.

    Gas, Gas, Gas!

I was sleeved Thursday and the gas pain is the worst. I didn't even pass gas until Saturday for the first time. I walk and walk, and walk but it just refuses to move. Then when I eat or the gas gets worst..ugh..I can't wait until I get out off this beginning stage...boy its rough.
  6. I'm finally home!!!

  7. You know...with any surgery there is always a chance, and the complications from surgery can happen, but that's with any surgery. Rather focus on what can happen, research how often it happens. Complications are not that common, research the rates. Before making your final decision, makes sure you research everything...
  8. I was only required to do 3 month weighin and dietary session. As you see in my signature I had to do a lot too. I also had to do a food diary and excerise log. Some programs require it, some insurance require it. I sounds like its a big waste of time but over all its a good thing. At least for me it was, it allowed me time to train myself on eating right, while preparing me mentally. It will all work out for you
  9. Hey! My pre op diet has been for 7 days, I still have one more day to go and then surgery on the 3rd. I started losing weight before being up on the pre op but I don't weigh myself until tomorrow. My diet consist of 3 shakes, a tv dinner less than 250 calories and less than 30 carbs. I couldn't exceed 1000 calories and 60 carbs a day, I've managed to stay under 850 and about 55 carbs a day. I also had to have aleast 80-100 grams of protein a day.
  10. LOL...I appreciate that! PearlLex have you already been sleeved?
  11. Hey! Happy new year! I have had my pre op appointment and I started the diet on the 27th. This diet is a trip but i'm handling it. I'm so nervous and i'm getting scared. But I know I will be ok! How are things your way? Have you started the appeal process?

    I feel alone...

Hey lady...with your insurance can you have a bmi with 35+ and at least 2 obesity-related co-morbid condition? If that is so, do you have diabetes or high blood pressure, sleep apnea...etc? If so you may still be able to be approved. The dietary part is stressful alone and then thinking about the approval process can be a bit much too. Keep faith, hopefully everything will work out for you. Try talking to your insurance as well to see exactly what there requirements are and see if you have an individual who will be working on your case solely. I have bluecross and sheld and I had an individual I worked with through the whole process to get to surgery. Maybe if you gained some type of communication with your insurance it can help with your approval process. I hope you feel better hun!

  18. As far as I know, I don't have food allergies but that is a thought too...
  19. Pre op diet starts 12/26...I'm getting so nervous

  20. I got my results from my testing and I was told that everything came back normal (thank God). It doesn't explain my constant upset stomach or etc but hopefully it won't be much of an issue in the future!
  21. My BMI is over 40 but I hold my weight very well (for the most part). The few people i have told feel like I am to "small" to get this surgery, but I know its something I need. Alot of people is always going to have something to say rather is positive or negative. You know your struggles better than anyone else. You know your reasons for wanting to have this procedure. Stay strong, follow through and ignore the ignorant!
  22. I'm not sure how many weeks early I was, I was born in mid march, and wasn't suppose to come until mid may. So you could say I was probley about 7 weeks early. I've always had issues with my digestive system as a kid but believe it or not it has gotten better as an adult even though I do struggle with getting sick to my stomach on a weekly bases. I do have a good doctor because of all the people i've gone to about my stomach issues, he is the first to ever send me out for this type of test. So I do value his opinion, so if it does come back positive, I will start off with the sleeve and see what happens. My testing is first thing in the morning tomorrow, so i'm sure I will hear something back by next Thursday at the most.
  23. @iggychic I appreciate you responding...I google the issues and found a few studies that are being done for people who have GP and are getting bariatric surgery rather its GB or VSG. If I read your last posting you said your son was born premature? If so, the funny thing is I was too...really got my wheels turning now...lol. And you was very help with your information. @jennifer4444 I appreciate your information too...it gives me alot of hope. I will keep you both posted with my testing and results
