Queen In Me

My story is no different than anyone elses...one day I looked up and I realized that I wasn't healthy, my size 22 pants was getting to tight, that my stomach was sticking out further than my butt, friend, and family was getting on me saying that "your to young to be that big". At the weight of 264 enough was enough...I was tired of the failed diet attempts, diet pills, PCOS, and the unhealthiness. So on 8/12/12, I made my first step to get to surgery. I watch the online seminar, and that night I complete an application and was enrolled into the program to the Fresh Start Bariatric program at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, OH on 8/30/12. After going through the numerous test and procedures I was able to submit my packet to Anthem Blue Cross and Shield through Verizon Wireless on 12/07/12 and was approved on 12/13/12. I had surgery 1/3/13 and weighed in at 241.1 for the vertical sleeve, and also had my gallbladder removed, hiatal hernia repaired and a live biopsy. I stayed in the hospital for 3 nights and 4 days. Three weeks after surgery I was rehospitalized for dehydration. Since that I am slowly but surely getting better. I have days where I hate that I had surgery, but overall I am extremely blessed to have had this surgery. Life is getting better and if I had to do it again I would. I will always remember my past but I will never go down that road again...This surgery is truely a life altering change. Its not only changing my life but its changing everyone around me. My story isn't ending...its just beginning... to be continued.
