Just wanted to chat in my journal again. I read the first enty and forgot to state that I also had an upper and lower GI and a colonoscopy. I had my wonderful sleep study last night, and no pun intended I am more tired after having the sleep study than an average nights sleep at home.... Not to good of news on the sleep study. I was told that I had stopped breathing 100 times last night and my o2 dropped to 77%. They are to send the results to my surgeon and I am waiting for a reply to what to do next. I have an appointment for the trial c-pap machine on tuesday the 14th. I went for my respiratory test today also. Still waiting to hear the results of those tests too... I already know that I have severe Asthma, so I really am not sure what they are looking for. I will start the preop liquid tomorrow and that will carry me to the 19th of Aug. THEN THE BIG DAY ARRIVES YEAH:clap2: SURGERY AUG.20TH 2007 @ 9:00 AM:whoo::whoo:I will type more into this journal as the journey progresses..:car:

Hello one and all. I will join joyus band land on Aug20th... I start my preop diet on Aug. 10th. Very excited and very scared. Looking forward to all my new life intertwined with all my new lap band friends. Thanks for all the information, good , bad and ugly. All the posts are very informative and wonderful... I have seen the diet person, the psycologist x2 and have taken the weird 2.5 hour test. Wow that was interesting. Went to the seminar and that was so helpful. I will be having the intense sleep study on the 8th of Aug. and the Respirarory test on the 9th of August. I have meet with my surgeon and I have one more meeting with her on the 8th of Aug. I have delt with the insurance company and the long wait for the approval. I recieved the approval. Yeah, and my surgery date with be Aug 20th 2007. I have read the book and done the computer generated things sent to me by my doctors office. I will soon begin the pre-op diet that will take me up to the date of my surgery..... Wow I can not believe that it is almost here......:whoo:until next time my friends....:car:

Nulife2be.....My surgery date will be on Aug. 20th 2007. Yeah. I live in Kansas and I will be having my surgery completed at Tallgrass by Dr. Berntsen.

Thank you so much for sharing your story with us. You truly are an inspiration to each of us starting this new journey in our lives. Do you have any suggestions on pre-op diet and I have to go back to work in nursing 11 days post op any suggestions on how to cope? Thanks again your a real inspriation to me. Aug. 10th start pre op Aug. 20th SURGERY DATE YEAH !!!!!!!!!!

Hello fellow Kansas banders..... I am also being banded by Dr.Bernstein {? on spelling} from Tallgrass. My surgery date is Aug 20th. I am very excited and a little scared. I need to start Hell week on Aug 8th to prepare for surgery. I am told this week really sucks.... Any sugestions on how to cope with the list of liquids that are recomended? What types of food can you eat post surgery? I know it is liquids and slowly advance to mushies and then reg food, but what types of things have you found that you can eat on these different stages? I went a head and took 12 days off of work to try and get used to my band and figure out what types of food will work well for me. Any sugestions that anyone has will be greatly appreciated. Hello every one. I just got the news that my surgery date is Aug. 20th. Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I need to start the pre op diet on Aug. 9th. Could anyone help by letting me know what are the best shakes to purchase for this diet? I just hate to spend the cash and not like them. Thanks Nulife2be

Hello one and all, I was hoping to get banded in July. But all is lost for July. I have done all the tests needed and I an awaiting a surgery date. I now have been told since I have asthma and wheeze at night I need to have a sleep study and they are booked for several weeks. So the surgeon states that they are also now booking into Sept. Wow one foot forward and three steps back..... Sure can't wait for the surgery.....Thanks for listening to me vent......LOL,,,,, Nulife2be

Hey guys just a quick post to say that I was hoping to be a lucky seven also, but I am still waiting on insurance approval and then 10 days of pre-op diet, so It looks like I will not get my band until Aug sometime. Hey there guys. Just wanted to give you an update on the progress of my surgery date.. I just had my meeting with my surgeon and I have all the pre tests done. Now I am just waiting for the insurance approval. They tell me that it could be 4-6 weeks before I will be approved. Gee.... With that being said , I am not sure if I will have my surgery in July or August of 2007. O well I have waited this long, I suppose a few more weeks will not hurt huh? Hello to all you Springfielders. I to once worked in Springfield Mo. I lived in Ava Mo. I now am in Kansas and am awaiting my surgeon consult on June 21st. I hope to be banded in July sometime if all goes as planned. I still want to move back there sometime, but I to am a single mom and I could not find a good paying job around there. Good luck to all of you and I hope to keep in touch with all my progress as it arrives day by day.

Hello to everyone, I have my consult with the surgeron on June 21st, so I to am hopeing to be a Lucky 7 like all of you. I have been waiting for what seems to be a long time for this to happen. I started the research back in 2005, but my insurance would not pay for it, so I could not get the band done. Now my insurance will pay for 90%, pluse the fills tooo!!!! So in a nut shell, I am scared, excited, and just waiting for the go ahead from the all the powers that beee..... Good luck to each and everyone of you... Hello to everyone, I am new to the journey of the lap band. I have picked a doctor:clap2: and I have meet with the psy. and the diet counsler. I need to submit my paperwork to the docters office and get appoval from the insurance company........ YEAH....:biggrin1: I'm well on my way to a new slimmer me... I have read so much on this web site and I just want to thank everyone for all of there input, whether it be positive of negitive... I will continue to read all the posts and keep up to date on the latest do's and don'ts. Once again thanks and I look forward to chating with you all very soon...
