:(Hello all, Just had a few spare minutes to update my journal. To date I have lost a total of 44#'s. I am still going to the YMCA 3-4 times a week and I am also doing some exercising at my home. I bike ride with my son and play basketball with him. At the YMCA I am doing 10 minutes of Cardio and all 15 weight machines each day. I just added today the abdominal crunches on the mat and the standing crunches with the cross bar. I have had my first fill, but still have no restriction. I can eat what ever I want, so I have to watch it really close. I am not due for another fill until Nov. 5th. The scale has not moved since my last fill on Oct. 3rd. I still continue to go to the gym and nothing is happening. It is really starting to get me down. I have no one to talk to about anything reguarding my band and the weight loss. I am hungry all the time and the will power is going south really fast...... I am still makeing wise food choices, but I can't seem to make the scale move. Any suggestions? Please respond if you have any comments. I must go for now. Keep up the good work one and all and I will post more at a later date.... Nulife:cry:eek:

Dear Fluffy, I too had the band surgery in Topeka Kansas by Dr Bernsten from Tallgrass General Surgery Center. I was banded on Aug 20th 2007 and all is well with me. I go for my first fill tomorrow. I had no complications and went back to work in 13 days. I only took the pain meds for 2 days and then went to regular tylenol. I now am very hungry all the time, so Im looking so forward to my first fill tomorrow. I would love to keep in touch with you after your surgery. My email is awesometwo@sbcglobal.net Good luck to you in your surgery, I know you will do great. If I can help with anything just ask I will always be there for you. Nulife

Hello one and all, It has been a few days since I have typed in my journal. My weight loss is now up to 36#. Wow how I love my band......... I do not go for my first fill until Oct. 3rd, 2007. I really haven't been to hungry either. My stomach growns about 4:00pm everyday, and I simply eat a small snack and it is all better. I can't wait until I get the go ahead to work on my stomach muscles.... I wanted to start yesterday at the gym, but I refrained, cause I was scared to do it.... I am going to the YMCA about 3 times a week and I swim and lift weights, even though I can't lift over 10# until after the 3rd of Oct. I still go and do it faithfully each week... Well it is late and I need to go to bed. Good luck to each of you and keep on posting...

I was banded on Aug.20th 2007. I had no complications what so every. I have not got the go ahead and start to add reg foods back into my diet. All is well, and I Love my band. The tool in my body has shown me the way to be free from my weight loss issues. I'm 5'2" and my starting weight and also my highest weight ever was 257# in May. I found out that I was TYpe 2 diabetic, sleep apnea, asthma, chronic pains in feet and back. I was a mess. I know have lost 29 # including preop diet and surgery and I have decreased joint pain, asthma is much better, the doctor has lowered my meds for my diabetis and I feel much healther so far. I have more energy and sleep alot less. I want to get up and greet the day each morning. So to answer your question, YES I would get the band again in a sec....... Good luck with your delima. nulife2be

Hello one and all bandsters. Yesterday I went to the 1 week postop appt. All went great. They removed the steri strips, all is healing well, still a little sore on the port side, but it is bareable. I have not had any pain med since 2 days after my surgery, except Ibuprophen for a headache. Yeah for me... I got the go ahead to start adding regular food slowly back into my diet. So last night for dinner I made Green bean caserole and tuna salad. I know they do not sound good together, but that is what I was in the mood for. Then of coarse chips for the rest of the family, and they ate there tuna salad on a bed of lettuce. Anyway I was really sacared to try real food that I needed to chew.... All went well and it all stayed down. I got up this am am made egg salad and it went fine to. Not eating much, only few bites and I am full, so I suppose the band is working. I do not have any thing in my band right now. I have scheduled a my first fill for OCT 3rd if I need one. They told me that If I a still losing at a slow and steady pace I might not need to get one then and can postpone if needed for a few weeks later. I can also start to ride my new bike. Can't wait to start that with my 12 year old son. Just to let you all know since May of 2007 including the preop and the surgery I have lost a total of 29 great #######'s YEAH!!! I still have a long way to go, but I belive I am off to a great start.... Good luck to each one of you and we can and will WIN this battle with our weight.........

:help:Ok, Here is my QUESTION......I have read several posts thus far and on one of them it stated you could purchase "PROTEIN BULLETS" they have 42 grams of protein and come in orange, grape, or fruit punch. They cost $2.99 a tube. I was told that you can find them at any Health food store. WELLLLLLLLL, I live in Kansas.... and I checked.... I can not find them anywhere...... So if anyone can help me... I need the true name and the manufactor, and where you can find them. I even have tried the net. No luck.. :help: -
Aug. 27th First week post op and doing great....
nulife2be commented on nulife2be's blog entry in nulife2be's Journal
Well gang, tomorrow is one full week post op. I am feeling great, hardly no pain. I am eating well and what I am supposed too. Steri strips still attached and look to be healing just fine. The scale has stopped going down though. That is kinda of a bummer. I have lost 27.5 # since the end of May and including the preop diet, so I suppose I should't complain huh. I have a appointment with the doctor for a week post op appt. I also went out over the weekend and brought a ladies mountain bike and I am so looking forward for the go ahead and start bike rideing with my 12 year old son. Well I hope this helps all the people who are in the process of getting the banding and those of you are near surgery... I Love my band so far, and would have the surgery again in a sec. Good luck to all:whoo::clap2: Nulife2be -

Hello, I was banded on Aug. 20th, I too was very scared. All went well with me as it will with you. Just remember to take you medications and you will do fine. The first day post op I was up and felt great, just a little soreness in the abdomen area. I can drink and eat fine. I go to the doctor for my first post op appt on tues. Just remember to walk and walk and walk. It does help relieve the gas pains and such. I myself did not have much gas pain or referred pain due to the gas. I did have a little diarrhea though. Yesterday I swollowed to tylenol and it was just fine also. You will do great......... Keep us informed........ Nulife2be

Hello all I was banded on Aug 20th 2007. Doing really well, getting in all my liquids per day. Still needing help with the protein. I have lost 27.5 # since the last of may and including the preop diet. I go back to the doctor on Tuesday. I really like the Atkins Vanilla protein shakes. Choc whey protein is very good also. I made it with skim milk and it was great. I want to know when I can start riding my bike, consider I just bought a 26" ladies mountain bike. Guess I will ask the doctor on Tuesday. What are the new banders doing for exercise? Any and all input would be appreciated. Good luck and keep up the good work...... Nulife2be

Hello all it has been 3 days since I have entered band land. Wow life with the band is so great, very little pain, more energy, very little gas and diarrhea now. I have lost 26 pounds since the end of May. I can start on the full liquid today and I am going to the store with my son when he gets off the bus from school. Really looking forward to the Tomato soup. and sugar free pudding. Did you know that you can make any meal high protein, by adding carnation instant milk to it, just go by the directions on the can. Well take care and keep in touch. It seems that I can not get my ticklefactory frog to work right, because I can't remember my pin. Therefore I will have to type my weight loss each time. Nulife2be:biggrin1::whoo:

August Bandsters How are you Doing So Far
nulife2be replied to MissNilsa's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hello. I was banded on Aug.20th and I still am not very hungry. My stomach is making lots of noise, but I do not feel hungry. I have been on liquids and get to go on full liquids tomorrow. I have had some fat free jello. chicken noodle broth, no noodles and lots of decaf tea with splenda. I can't wait to taste the cream soups and apple sauce tomorrow. Just be patient and everything will work out. Nulife2be
