I recently moved to TX from Fl, where my surgery was done. I'm near SA/Austin. I would love to have a TX meet n greet!!! I wouldn't mind helping out if we wanna plan one!?!? I don't have any friends here and maybe I could meet some through this community!?!?

Ugh!!! Ya I lives in NY for a while and they have that too. I just moved to TX and it is soooo much harder here. The first time i went into their grocery store I wondered what I was ever going to eat here!!!! All processed and fattening!!! It's all a learning/adjusting game I guess!! How far out are you!?

YES! Never noticed it so much until post surgery!! When desperate I will get a chicken soft taco no lettuce from Taco Bell and only eat the chicken and cheese inside (usually 2 tacos). It's fast and everyone around me enjoys it. Check fil a also has chicken tortilla soup (it's pretty good) and they have grilled chicken fingers and they are not bad either. Thats really all I have found....Good luck! It's rough out there!!!!!

Try hot tea. It was my savior for so many things. And still is. I will be 9 months out tomorrow!!!:-)

I need some assistance....I am in the VERY beginning stages of looking for a surgeon, I just moved to TX so I dont have any connections here and I would prefer the Dr be in either the San Antonio, TX or Austin, TX area. I would also entertain south Florida area as I have family there. I was sleeved on July 23rd and I am down 111 lbs and my legs tell me daily I will NEVER be able to wear a bathing suit in public EVER again! LOL. I want to wait at least a year to get anything done but want to know what I am in for (especially pricing wise). Any experience of who to go to (or NOT to go to) is GREATLY appreciated!! THANKS!

I had surgery on July 23 and moved out of state Sep 6 - didn't have a job and I was fine! No problems pre-during-post surgery so I took the chance but I was ok. I wouldn't worry TOO much if you have been pretty good during the process so far. Good luck!

I had it too, but I am down about 80lbs now and NOTHING! I am SOOOO HAPPY! I bought a pair of $100 dollar flip flops when it got bad (I used to live in FL so I GET the FL thing! LOL) and now I dont need them (and they are too big!) If you are a size 11 I can send them too you - they worked wonders!!!!!! Just let me know I would rather someone get some use out of them and they really do help!

I feel myself getting sick - 16 weeks out and only have chlorpheniramine maleate (Chlor-Trimeton) in the house....I wanted to take it but it is not on my list of "approved/unapproved" meds.....wanted to see if any of you know or if I should suffer through the night and get something "approved" tomorrow........??????? On a side note - Hit 16 weeks today and my first week I did not see a loss on the scale :-( I knew it had to happen but I was in denial - down 75lbs in 16 weeks and SO happy! I am sure this first stall will not be the last!

I like this club! I am 3 months out now and almost at 70lbs down!!!!!!!! Cant wait to be part of the 100 lb club :-)

I have not read all the responses but wanted to chime in on your post.....Keep this in mind....most of the people that are on here are trying to get to their first goal of 191, as that would put them in WONDERLAND!!!!!!!!!!!! The fact that you were smaller than most probably has EVERYTHING to do with why you have "failed" Remember - all you see is a number, in most cases you don't have a start weight/height. Too soon to say you failed - keep at it and before you know it you will be reading your post months from now and laughing!

I am almost 3 months out and about to take my last PPI that I have been taking since the day before surgery (as given by my Dr). I have no problem with stopping the pills but did have a question.....when did you all stop taking them (if you no longer do)? How many of you have stopped and then found out you still needed them? Also if you answer, did you have issues with heartburn/acid PRIOR to surgery? Just trying to see what the probability is for me needing another perscription of these pills or if when the 3 months are up I am good to go. Just for the record I have been perfect so far, no issues, never had acid issues before and I am doing good post op! :-) Thanks all!!!!!!

I am going to go off and wait a few days and see what happens....guess I will go back on if I need to! :-) As a side note, how long without the Rx did it take you to know that you needed to keep taking it? And what is the feeling that you did feel that told you to keep taking it? Thanks guys!

I am almost 3 months out now and can only now "chug" water like I used to! At first I could hardly drink it AT ALL but did get turned onto hot tea and that was perfect (caffeine free) and counted as water! A few weeks now I have been good with water - warm and cold (at first I could only do room temp water) and now at just shy of 3 months I think I am good!!! Hang in there - it does get better - take it from me a former WATER FREAK!!!!!!

Single mom here too, my daughter is 4 and thank god she is not very picky because I worked my hardest to NOT have her take over my eating habits (she didn't even have a french fry until she was almost 4!!!! This seemed to have worked since she doesn't really like sweets and loves fruits and veggies :-) I didn't want her to have the struggles I have had!) CHILI! Maybe for further down the road when you can eat it too but it was really the only thing I could get down when I started really eating food. Made it with Turkey and LOTS of beans (protein) I lived on it for at least a week and my daughter loved it too! Also made a white bean chicken chili recently and we both loved that too!

Funny. Wen I told my nurse that's what I Thot it was she said she never heard of that! Well I think that's what it was and in sticking to it!

Me too!!!! Face was clear for about 6 weeks and now my chin has joined urs in the war!!!! Ugh!!!!

I had the gas pains too.... Ouch! But noticed my Nauseau was more from talking too much. See if that's why. And then I just let the nurse n visitors know that. After the second day it was almost gone and then by the 3rd day it was over.... Good luck!
