The MyFitnessPal app is also great!! I determine my budgeted calories for the day- then log food in here to keep track. If other people have logged the same food (which 99% of the time they have), it's already in the system. You also log your stats and keep track of your info/ goals. I'm addicted as it's such a great tool!

"wls Is Not What God Intended..."
SkinnyWannaBe replied to Susan 2.0's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am a believer- I love God! When we have a personal relationship with Him- what is best for us, we give to Him to determine, guide and lead us. I had the surgery- and a best friend who has never had weight issues did not agree with it, and has much negativity about it. I am not concerned with her opinion- my council is to God- and he lead me down this path of getting the surgery (2 months ago). I continually prayed "Lord, please shut the doors, and open the doors regarding this matter according to your will". Having a personal relationship with Him means what might be good for one, isn't good for another- so if it something that she wouldn't do if she struggled- then great- doesn't mean it isn't the right thing for you. I stalled at 2 weeks... then every 3 weeks after that... but then it would all sort itself out, and i would get on the scale and bam! 3-5 pounds off!

The same happened to me! Surprising taste changes- but mostly for lamb (my favorite), and beef. Everything is sweeter too.

I sleep on my back, with my knees/ legs elevated by 2-3 pillows. It flattens the lower back and provides relief there, but also when our legs are elevated above our heart- it takes alot of pressure off of the legs as well. I love sleeping this way- it's soo comfy- and really relaxes me....like when i am at a spa!

Negatives Of Progressing To Fast With Food
SkinnyWannaBe replied to Nick'sMom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Our phsycologist/ nutritionist this week in group, said to be careful about progressing too quickly- as there can be foods we try now (say cottage cheese or chicken, chewed up & emulsified), during a different phase- that can give us food allergies later on after our stomach's have healed... That our new stomach's need to be treated like a newborn babies- and introduce foods slowly. Hope this helps -

Aetna Weight- Which Weight Is Used?
SkinnyWannaBe posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been approved by Aetna (h.m.o.), have gone through further testing (treadmill stress test/ cardiogram), and have a few more appts before surgery. I am right on the border of 35 bmi (w/ comorbidities) & my weight has been dropping due to a new state of mind & the heat. Which is the weight that aetna uses? The initial weigh in, or the day of surgery? Has anyone been denied on the day of surgery for not weighing enough? -
Aetna Weight- Which Weight Is Used?
SkinnyWannaBe replied to SkinnyWannaBe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Raven21: After going through all of the classes- my approval took about 1.5 weeks. I was hanging on the edge of my seat wondering the whole time. How long did yours take? I am more nervous now with the rest of it- for every hoop that I jump through, there always seems to be many more- and it gives me anxiety- wondering if the dream is to all come crashing down at any moment, not to go through... but I am sure everyone on here feels that way!! -
