I just made an interesting connection. The two times I've eaten a small amount too fast and subsequently had pain and threw up, I was stressing out because my husband was grumping around the house at me and the kids. While I ate the right food and the right amount it was awful. So this sleeve is supposed to be a tool to help us figure out how to treat food correctly. I guess my first lesson is that I stuff down my stress with food. In the past I would have chosen something like Ben and Jerry's and not been full until it was gone. Thank you sleeve! Now the grumpy husband is another forum.

I heard that losing fat quickly releases estrogen that is stored in fat. Could that be it? I feel like I've been PMSing since surgery.

I was August 21st. I was losing a pound a day, and then I started soft food and I'm stuck. Argggh! I hope I won't be some wierd exception to the rule.

Too many carbs ( although I thought these were good carbs)...hence my frustration with the whole thing. I think you're right about making it work for you.

I wonder if losing a bit slower might prevent Hair loss and minimize skin issues? As long as it stays off for the most part, it has to be better than anything else we've ever done right.

Is anyone else frustrated with the difference in advice all of our docs and nutritionists give? Mine said you can never drink too much Protein, straws are fine, etc. I've been looking at various weight loss surgery programs and they really vary as far as food phases. I guess there hasn't been enough time to get a scientific set in stone pathway. Does that mean we all just cross our fingers that our doc/ nut have it right? Aargh!

I'm only 3 weeks out , but I have a two year old and have had to pick him up a few times. Major pain in the muscles under the incisions.... It took two days to feel better each time.

My surgeon reminded me that this surgery has been performed for ulcers and cancer for over 40 years. That helped.

Glad to hear you came through it. It's down hill from here!

I've been thinking about you, did you get through changing your dressing okay?

You need more Protein. You'll be working up to 90 grams. Also stay hydrated. ( this is according to my doctor'sodfice). I'm thinking at least one good protein supplement a day :/

You can brag and be deranged as much as you want. You look amazing! Thank you so much for the inspiration! 9 days out and 15lbs down....I can't wait to be where you are!!!!! Good for you!

You two are truly lucky. I'm not in intense pain but I'm in pain and it feels like something was pulled out of me in the right side. Still adjusting to everything. Trying to get the fluids in which is hard and the Protein yea I'm lucky if I get in 10 grams a day.
I don't have any regrets. I thought long and hard about my decision and im in it for the long haul. No one said it was going to be easy. Thanks for all the support my VST family:)
One thing I've noticed is that I really do need to be sitting up very straight, or at times kind of lean back when drinking. I realize now how badly I slouch right were my esophagus meets my stomach. The right wound where they took out my stomach hurts more if I don't stay on top of the Tylenol. (which is really wierd, because I never thought Tylenol worked at all). Don't let yourself get dehydrated! You WILL get through this!!!!! You were tough enough to have this done, you can certainly handle these bumps/ mountains in the road. Keep us posted. We're here for you.

Only a little on my right side. I've taken only Tylenol. I guess I'm on of the lucky ones. I do need to make sure I'm all straight and ligned up before I drink anything though.

Woo hoo! No one who wasn't born with our genetics will ever get it. What an inspiration you are. 4 would feel so strange. I can't wait

Stretch and sit up really straight when drinking. It really helps a lot.

I had to have them in the hospital. They hurt! Talk about exercise instead, but remember, no matter what you have to do, it's worth it in the end.

I was told straws are fine, just watch your intake.

Try Greek yogurt with cocoa powder and some kind of extract ( I like coconut). Blend and freeze for just a little bit.

I totally agree with Tamara, I also heard that natural oil is good. I'm wondering about taking collagen?
