    Confussed

I'm sorry for what you are feeling. I can tell you that I had my surgery 11 months ago and I'm still losing. It's much slower now, but the scale is still moving down. I feel better than I have in the past 20 years. I am regaining the confidence I was meant to have. Everyday is a concious decision to eat food for fuel, not for pleasure. I'm guessing it will be that way for me for the rest of my life. I'm more than willing to follow that rule to never end up back where I was. Do I still to plan 100% the time? No. But I do it at least 95% of the time and I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything! Best of luck to you and your final decision. For me, it was the BEST thing I've have done for myself EVER!

    Secret Sleevers?

I'm going on 11 months out, down 104 lbs and I only told my DH and my BFF. That's it. No family members, no office workers, nobody else. I'm so glad I did.

for those of you who have had to have a colonscopy

As long as you do the prep, they'll do the procedure. Be home and near a bathroom when you start the prep.
  4. I was on depo for over 10 years, and I attribute a lot of my weight gain to it. I have mirena now and I love it. I took the shot every 10 weeks instead of 12 for spotting issues. It made me into an eating machine.

    Dizziness 10 months out

Sorry, I should have said I suspect "my" dizziness is from low carb/low sugar. Mine is not from dehydration. I drink over 100 oz of water a day. I'll be meeting with my Dr. on Thursday. I didn't mean to come across as diagnosing anything. I'm a programmer, not a medical professional.

    Dizziness 10 months out

I find I get dizzy when I stand up from sitting, pretty much every time. My BP is good, so I'm not sure what the deal is. I'm going to bring it up at my 9 month follow up this week. I'm guessing it has to do with low carb/low sugar levels? I'll let you know what my Dr. says about it.

Same here! I thought you were talking about asking about PS.

Bit of a rant: Pissed off - upset - depressed

Your wife is right. You look great. And I don't see any little old man in the pic that you posted. Keep up the good work!

    Loose skin in 40s?

I'll be 42 and I had about 120 lbs to lose (19 to go), and my skin has been pretty good. My massage therapist commented on how well my skin has rebounded. The main exception is my arms. I'll be having that excess skin removed in a couple months. My PS told me that is the one area where the collagen in the skin is limited, so the elasticity isn't very good.

    post plastic surgery question

I met with the PS in May. I had my VSG on Oct 30, 2012. I have my arms scheduled for November 2013, and the "girls" will be done early next year. My PS said the last 20 lbs I need to lose won't be coming from either of those areas. I didn't even talk about it with my VSG surgeon. I went straight to an expert in skin removal.

    Big mistake

I'm the same way with pulled pork. Why of all things does my stomach not like pulled pork? It's on the list of high protein meats...but it rebels every time I try. I haven't learned to stop trying in the last 10 months. I keep hoping one day it will decide it likes it after all.

    New and questions

I totally agree with what was said in prior posts. The NUT visits are very helpful for your life post surgery. I wish I had went into my visits with a better attitude, rather than to just fulfill my insurance requirements. Turns out, I still go to her when I get in a stall and her info is still helpful. Who knew?
  13. I named mine "Fred". Close to 10 months post-op, he still has some attitude.

    Worried

I wish I could turn back the clock and have this surgery at 27, rather than 41. I feel like I wasted so much time not enjoying life because of my weight. It is the BEST thing I have ever done for myself!
