I'm about 3 weeks post op and I've lost close to 50 pounds but I have noticed the past several days I've gone up several pounds. I was 405 at my highest pre-op and I did hit 358 I weighed my self this morning and I'm at 364. Is that cause of the change from liquids to solid foods? I have great tolerance for all foods. i'm still eating soft foods like oatmeal and eggs but for dinner I have eaten grilled chicken and some seafoods like salmon and crab meat. I still have my protein drink 2-3 times a day. The worst thing I think I have eaten wa 2 slices of whole grain toast with PB and J. I'd also like to noted today was my first day back at the gym . In any case just curious if that is norman.

I'm drinking something called Proti 15 comes in all different flavors. Ever flavor is awesome. I get them from my Doctors office but you can also buy on amazon http://www.amazon.com/s?ie=UTF8&field-keywords=Bariatrix%20Nutrition%20Corp.&index=hpc&search-type=ss Best thing in the world. I advise to try it. LEmon is the best. Just mix 1 packet with 8 oz. of water and mix.

I had my surgery last weds 8/15/12 and I was able to go home on Friday 8/17/12. Did the pre op liquid diet for 2 weeks which consisted of 3 protein shakes a day (Atkins) and 1 small meal at night (Lean Cuisine). Day before I had no solid foods at all just the 3 shakes. That weds after the surgery and into thurs afternoon I had nothing. From Thurs eve to frin i had water 3 cups and 2 protein drinks which surprisingly went down well. Been on a clear liquid since which includes water, Protein Drinks not shakes, sugar free popsicles and jello. Also chicken broth. When I scheduled the surgery with the Doctor she weighed me at 405 that was 6/20/12. As of today I am 368, I feel that I am losing weight too fast. I am still sore and can only walk for excerise. I would say the only discomfort for me is the gas. For one thing it hurts and secondly its deceiving. By deceiving I mean the gas makes me feel like I'm hungry but I know I'm not. Weds or Thurs I will be able to move to a full liquid diet but I cant wait to eat something solid lol. Until then does anyone have any suggestions on what else I can eat in this stage and next?

While I was at the hospital they gave me this lemoade protein drink that was so good. But according to the nurses they said the onl place they knew where I can get them is at my Doctors office. Has anyone ever heard of Protmax lemonade? I tried google but not able to find it.

Thank You for responding. That actually made me feel alot better. I hope I could cook well for myself after I'm a rookie at cooking. Hopefully I will become pro.

So my surgery is tomorrow and I can't sleep. This pre op diet I lost pver 20 pounds and I feel great. Makes me wonder if I ever truly put my heart onto losing weight before. I'm 380 pounds now and would like to lose 150+. Since today I have had no solid foods at all maybe thats whats scareing me. I'm afraid that I'm not gonna want to eat ever after the surgery. Plus me wife and I dont cook. I see these ideas online and I think I cant make that. On time I know what I want to eat just not for the first several months. Ugh

Ty all for the comments, Still freaking out though. It's funny you do the pre op diet and lose between 10-20 pounds and you think to yourself well this isnt bad if I did this and went to the gym I could probably lose alot more weight.

6 days left before my surgery and I'm freaking out. I've been doing the liquid diet 3 shakes and a light dinner at night. I have made my self some eggs for my bday and had a small 7 oz steak but thats besides the point. Basically freaking out cause of the staples and leakage and all that kind of stuff. I've lost about 12 pounds since I started the pre op diet. Do the staples dissolve? Do I have to worry 3 years from now of leakage or if the stamach expands?
