Isopure? More like Isopuke!! I'm trying to find something with a lot of protein (can't beat 40 grams) in a bottle where I also get 20 oz of fluid at only 160 calories. If I didn't have such a tiny stomach, I'd just chug it down fast. But I have to sip, sip, sip, and gag, gag, gag. Those protein shots are worse. Guess it's back to the shakes. Let me know if you found something tasty out there!

Old Ways Omg
Carrie's Journey replied to newgrandmother's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been having a lot of those moments lately...and we have so much junk food for the kids so it's hard to avoid. I love my sleeve but hate that I can still eat a lot of junk if I want to. It's still about making choices. -
How Long Did Your First Stall Last :(
Carrie's Journey replied to Curvy Girl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My first stall lasted 2 wks. Then I started losing again for 2 wks then another 2 wk stall! I don't have much to lose, but it was still very upsetting. I stopped weighing myself every day and that really helped. My dr also advised me to increase my protein. My TOM really affects the loss, I've realized so I'm trying to prepare myself for another short stall. -
Does Only Having 50-60 Lbs. To Lose Discredit Me Wanting Surgery?

I had a low bmi too, with high blood pressure. I haven't told many people other than family and close friends but I imagine some comments might be negative...if I told coworkers, for example. Many would say I wasn't big enough to have surgery but I've struggled just like you. It's our lives...not theirs. Dr. Cirangle did my surgery in CA. He believes this will prevent me from getting to that high bmi that's almost inevitable. -

Any Dr Recommendations For Ca?
Carrie's Journey replied to DreamsOfSkinny's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Dr. Cirangle in SF is the best! A pioneer of the vsg. www.lapsf.com -

I've stopped comparing myself to others lately and I am feeling much better. I know I've lost less than any other July sleever but I'm following my plan and I'm continuing to lose so that's all that matters. Surgery date was 7/31 and I started at 188. I'm 162.8 as of today so about 25 lbs total. I know that I have less to lose so it'll be slower. As long as it keeps going, I'm happy.

Just 2 days pre-op of liquids. My goal is 130-140 but I still can't see that happening. I have never been that small. I've been in my second stall and just want to see the scale moving again!

Mine was 32 on surgery day (7/31). Progress is good but super slow. I was 188 and am 169 now...

I took a loan out against our car, which had been paid off. But it was worth it... -
Looking For A Buddy In The Bay Area!
Carrie's Journey posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My surgery was on 7/31/12 and it would be great to have a buddy or two share experiences and go through this journey together! I'm almost 32 and my starting BMI was 32. I live in the East Bay (CA). -

Same here! How much do you have to lose? I was sleeved 7/31 and have only lost about 20 lbs, but since I only have 60-70 to lose, I guess it's normal. Dr said I was on track. I hit a stall for 2 weeks during weeks 3-4 too.

Self Pay Friend Looking For Resonable Sleeve Price
Carrie's Journey replied to 803Misty's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
$17,500 in Northern CA (Dr. Cirangle). Follow-up visits for 5 years and included pre-op testing. I know he's probably the most expensive surgeon out there, but he is a pioneer of the vsg and I love him! -
Obese After Sleeve?
Carrie's Journey replied to Sannah's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It seems like a lot of surgeons have "realistic" goals for their patients...goals that the patient seems to agree with. My surgeon has a goal lower than what I considered my goal! I'm 5'5" and think 130-140 would be great. He's thinking 120-130, which will make me a skeleton. But I guess I'm glad he has faith in me. I only have a total of 60 lbs or so to lose so maybe that's part of it. -

Any suggestions on how to get in 100 g protein and stay under 600 calories a day? I'm on solids, but I figure there's no way to do this without at least 2 protein shakes a day...not much room for food.

Lol! It's probably because my last profile picture was of me and my husband and he was kind of in front... I just updated the picture.
