Feeling Like a Failure
Carrie's Journey replied to Farah131's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree...I can eat way more crap food than the food I'm supposed to be eating. Your stomach is definitely not pre-surgery size. Try eating some chicken tomorrow, and I bet you'll be full off a small portion. Have a bad day and then get back on it tomorrow. We all have them! -
Dr. Cirangle - patients with low bmi?

Thank u!

I just got this suit from Kohl's. It has "ruching" on the front so it hides my tummy flab (and stretch marks). The little skirt bottom was a separate piece that I loved. It hides more stretch marks and loose upper thigh skin.

Satiety foods for post goal hunger?

Just in case you're curious, my surgeon's office (Dr. Cirangle of San Francisco) said at my stage, celery is A-ok. Just chew thoroughly. -
Attention All-- Therapists/Counselors/social workers/psycologists?
Carrie's Journey replied to Evolving's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Nothing compares to the schedule of a school counselor! And I like dealing with a bunch of stuff (college and career counseling in addition to personal/social). -
Attention All-- Therapists/Counselors/social workers/psycologists?
Carrie's Journey replied to Evolving's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I'm a school counselor in CA, but my grad program was dual: school counseling and marriage and family therapy. I don't ever want to do private practice though. -
New here! Any low BMIers?
Carrie's Journey replied to Teachamy's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You will. It all happened in the first 6 months. I'm at 8 1/2 months and can't seem to lose any more. Which is fine...if I am maintain here I will be very happy. But I'd like to lose a few more to have a good range (135-140). It's MUCH harder now. -

Satiety foods for post goal hunger?

It probably would. I think the cream was for lower carbs, but milk would be lower calories... I could eat this every night as a dessert and be happy. -

I'm totally making that this weekend! Hopefully it's not a trigger for me and I'll want the whole batch. We'll see... -
Satiety foods for post goal hunger?
Carrie's Journey replied to Fiddleman's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
Yes - I LOVE this stuff. 3 eggs 1 cup heavy cream 1 cup cottage cheese (I sometimes use more) 2/3 cup Splenda sugar substitute (granular) 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 1/2 tsp cinnamon (I add a little All Spice) Directions: Whisk together all ingredients except cottage cheese until well blended. Stir in cottage cheese. Pour into a greased 1.5 quart casserole dish and bake at 350 for 75 min. or until top is lighly browned. Around halfway through, I gently stir so the cottage cheese doesn't settle at the bottom. Eat warm or cold. -
Satiety foods for post goal hunger?

Hunger sucks. I really hoped surgery would just take it all away! I feel very normal now, which is good, but it's hard realizing I'll continue to have a lifelong battle with food. -

How long was your surgery?
Carrie's Journey replied to Bmordan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine was 2 1/2 hrs but he also fixed a hiatal hernia. I made my husband go home at 2am when I saw how uncomfortable he was trying to sleep. Went home a few hours later. -

Satiety foods for post goal hunger?

Nuts are a total slider food for me...I swear I can eat the same amount now as before surgery. I'm 8 months out or so, and pretty much at goal, and my hunger has been a little out of control lately. It's the damn trigger foods. Once again I need to cut out the carbs/sugar. My Snacks are celery and pb or laughing cow cheese, Greek yogurt, boiled eggs (I'm lazy and buy them perfectly boiled and packaged at Costco), string cheese, lunch meat...all already mentioned. I just made cottage cheese "rice pudding" that is pretty good. I have a couple bites when hunger strikes. -
Mademy own chocolate yogurt
Carrie's Journey replied to Susie1226's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think that Stevia tends to make yogurt taste bitter but let us know how it turns out. I just mixed in some Mio drops and that worked pretty well. You can also mix Crystal Lite or sugar free jello powder. -
no periods still-5 months post op
Carrie's Journey replied to aillahis's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I haven't had one in 4 months or so and I'm 8 months out...my OB said its normal but I should tell her if it goes on for another few months. I've been on the pill too. I may discontinue the pill for a little bit just to see if it normalizes. -
Couple of random questions..
Carrie's Journey replied to JessicaAnn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My c-section was FAR worse than vsg. Vsg was such an easy recovery for me. I took the lortab for a few days, then didnt need it. Nausea meds definitely worked. And I didn't have any leak tests. -
My husband is wondering when all the sex is going to happen. Lol. My excuse for not wanting to have sex very often before was because I was fat and felt so unattractive. Now that I'm a normal BMI, I think my husband was under the impression that I'd be making up for all that lost time. Poor guy. Now I feel saggy with deflated boobs. So this part didnt change for me, which makes me sad. Overall, I'm happy I had the surgery but being skinny doesn't solve every problem.

Quest Protein Bars?
Carrie's Journey replied to ChrissyP's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Coconut cashew and pb&j...but now I'll have to try cinnamon roll. I wish more places carried them. My GNC sells just a few flavors.
