I had my lapband removed and sleeved on 08/17/12. I lost 40 lbs in the first 3 months...but since then...NOTHING! The doc said by February I should be down 40 more lbs but nothing. I am not eating a lot. I stop as soon as I get the feeling of fullness. I am going crazy because the lapband failed, i didnt expect this to fail too! Any suggestions????

I dont count calories. Dont have much time. But i dont eat anything fried. I cant stand the taste. I walk around work, take the stairs instead of the elevator and park further away in the parking deck.

Just be patient. I am 3 months post op and 40lbs down. I was feeling the same way as you are now. Trust me it gets a lot better and is worth it!! I'm very happy with the results and I'm so glad that pesky band is gone!! Just hang in there and take one day at a time!

I'm 26 and went from the lap band to sleeve on 8/17/12. From Birmingham and had surgery at Trinity Hospital.

Had my band to sleeve done on 08/17 at 260 now today , 09/03 I'm 225!!!

My name is Natalee from Birmingham, Al. I was banded May 2008 and lost almost 100 lbs within a year and a half! Everything was fine but then lost my insurance and was unable to have a fill for 2 1/2 years! But during that time due to family stress gained 80lbs back! Recently I went to a doc in the box because I was constantly nauseous and sick. Doc said it could be related to my band but I told her it couldn't be! Sure enough, went to Dr. Touliatos at Trinity Medical Center in Birmingham and the band had started to erode!! So he said it had to come out and he recommended have the sleeve at the same time since I'm still morbidly obese. Within a week the insurance had approved the surgery and I'm getting sleeved on August 17!! I'm nervous of course but ready to have this horrible band taken out!!! Starting the Pre-Op diet tomorrow and counting down the days!!

Ok so the other day I weighed myself at Walmart. I weighed 238.....22 lbs down from August 17th. Well I decided to buy a scale today. Got home and weighed 230!! That's 30lbs down in 10 days!!! Geez!!! My hubby says its from my stomach being removed! Lol! But I've been throwing up a lot lately. I just can't tell when I've eaten too much. And the acid reflux is killing me!!! So I'm gonna stick back to liquids for a couple of days, that stays down.

Ok so I just weighed myself...surgery day I was 260 now per the 3 scales I tried at Walmart bc I couldn't believe it, I'm at 238 now! 22 pounds!!!!

My first EKG was bad apparently but went back 4 days later and it was fine. Don't worry it will all work out! Just hang in there!

It has been going ok. Haven't checked my weight. I started the mushy stage today, was able to handle chicken salad and hummus. Just been having very bad acid reflux! I feel like my throat is on fire!!! But other than that I did take off my surgi strips today to see my incisions. They look gross as expected, lol. But I'm gonna go get a scale tonight so I'll let you know about the weight loss.

Not really. Eating the cheese dip was kinda a relief! It helped me finally have my first bowl movement since surgery! Lol!

Well I had an ok day today! Got a whole thing of tomato soup, the cup in hand type, down! Still in some pain due to no pain meds but finally got my prescription today! Woke up with gas in my chest . Wasn't fun but walked around and took a chewable gas x and it was better. Did do something I don't think I should have though. Went out tonight with the hubby and his office to a Mexican bar. Hubby ordered cheese dip and I slowly ate it. It was very thin and not very spicy so it went down really good. Defiantly got full! Lol!

Well I'm 3 days post op now...things are a little better. I can move more and I can finally get some gas out! Lol! Luckily no gas in my shoulders like when I had my band done. Still no pain meds, they proscribed me liquid lortab which I'm allergic to and it has made me throw up several times, which is not fun. Tried taking the anti nausea pills before but still no luck. Trying to get the doc to prescribe me the right pain meds but only a couple of pharmacies carry it. But I'm hanging in there, I can already tell how small my tummy is...it's crazy! But thank you for all your well wishes and I'll continue to keep y'all updated.

Hey y'all! Well I'm still at the hospital. Feeling really bad. This is a little bit harder from when I had the lapband. The doc said I had a lot of scar tissue and the band looked bad so my recovery would be a little bit longer. I feel like I have 24 hr heart burn du to the gas. Pain and nausea have been at an 8 so getting meds thru Iv. But I'll check back later... Just trying to keep comfortable.

I'm checked into the hospital and ready to go! Waiting for them to take me down. Wish me luck and I'll try to post later.

Great to hear the surgery went good!! I'm having mine tomorrow!!!
