How long before we can swallow whole pills

I did the Flintstones ones... They tasted awful but they were the only ones I could get down... -

How far out are you? It took me about 3 months. -
How much time should you wait after surgery to get a lift/augmentation? I'm 5 months out and down 45 pounds. My breasts are shrinking and it's driving me crazy.
-
I was a 38F back in 06 until I had a reduction to a 38DD. My plastic surgeon told me that my breasts were fibrous and wouldn't get smaller if I lost weight. He was wrong. They used to be nice and full and now they're those ski slope kind where they just sort of go down and then tip back up. I hate them. My husband says its no big deal but it is to me. He said that as soon as I'm ready he'll buy me some new boobs. Good man!

Stepped on the scale this moring and was 199! I'm 5 weeks out and down 23 pounds. It's going slowly for me but it's going and that's what counts.

It's been 5 weeks and a few days for me and I'm doing well. Anyone else out there sleeved on August 2?

I've heard lots of people say that after surgery, their tastes changed. Sometimes a food they liked before, they don't like anymore or vice versa. Has anyone ever heard WHY tastes change? I know mine certainly have, I'm just not sure why.
-
I don't think so. For example, decaf tea with Splenda. I drank that before and liked it. Now it just tastes really, really bitter.
-
My favorite thing to eat has become saltines and cheddar cheese cubes... I can only eat a few before I'm full but I LOVE the taste...
-
I was told not to drink 30 minutes either side of eating too but my NUT said that if I needed a sip of water to help things rinse down, that was OK... Hope this gets better for you...

I'm 4 weeks out and yes, it gets easier... I've actually cried over this food thing... I have to chew and chew and chew and wait and wait and wait... It takes me 20 minutes or so just to eat a little bit of food and then sometimes it feels like it's sitting in the middle of my chest and I have to wait for it to go down... My mom had this done last October and she eats what she wants when she wants... She keeps telling me that this is the hardest time and to just stick with it... It gets better, really...

Today I'm a month and a day out. I'm off my bp meds and my cholesterol meds. I'm down a pants size and feeling pretty good. I started off at 222 and this morning I was 200. I'm so close to onederland I can taste it! I'm so glad I did this. There have been rough days and I still struggle, but the benefits outweigh the drawbacks for me. Oh, the pic where it's the m ost obvious to me is the one from behind. I never realized I was that wide.

My doctor did the surgery using 1 port in my belly button. I had heard he did this and wanted it! I've healed very well and I love not having scars.

I know we need to drink lots during the day. I've been doing water with the Mio sweet tea mix-ins but frankly I'm getting burned out on those. Anybody have any other suggestions?

I know everyone's different but I was just wondering how much weight people have lost and in what amount of time. I'm only 3 weeks out and struggling with food a little. I think I'm just looking for some inspiration. Thanks!

Odd Things In My Basket At Walmart
wikdwich posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So today we made a run to the store. We left with: stool softener (TMI, I know), cat litter, Oreos (not for me), duct tape, Flintstones vitamins, and shaving cream. I told my husband that the cashier was definitely going to wonder what was going on at our house. -
Size 18-20 To A Size 4
wikdwich replied to Crystal Woods's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You give me hope. I started at 222 and hope to lose a significant amount. Thanks for sharing! -
It took me about a week and a half before I could sleep on my side. When I wanted to sleep on my back I propped a pillow under my legs so it took some of the pressure off my tummy.

Anyone Having A Single Incision Vsg?
wikdwich replied to Birdy18's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the single incision surgery and was up walking that afternoon and was in the shower the next day, feeling OK. I came home on a Saturday and went to the beach on Monday. We took a 2 mile walk to the pier and back on Wednesday. I'm SO glad I had the single incision. -
It's nice to see I'm not crazy. I'm 3 weeks out today and I've been stalled for about 5 days. I lost 16 pounds and then nada. I keep reading it'll pass so I'll jusy keep doing what I've been doing and wait.

Feels Like Food Is Stuck In Throat
wikdwich replied to phoenixgen2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know exactly what you mean. Mine feels like it's stuck between my sternum and my collar bone. I don't need to throw up but I feel like I need to burp some. I just have been taking this as my "you're full" feeling. I take my omeprazole so it's not reflux. -
Yep, he's awesome. He had bypass in February and lost 70 pounds so far so he's been great through all of this with me. I know I've not been the sweetest person, but he's hanging in there!

The doc said that anything we put in our stomachs goes through so fast, the pill didn't have time to absorb properly to do its preventative thing. I take the pill still because I like the regularity of 3 weeks off, 1 week on. So, we're going the vasectomy route to cover the baby thing and I'm going to keep taking the pill for the regularity.
