    Valentine's Day Weight Loss Challenge/goals

    Happy New Year everyone! I hope that this is a wonderful year for everyone. I am going to be joining a new ladies gym that reopened in the next town, tomorrow. Access to a gym close enough that it was feasible to drive to has been a problem. Best of luck all.

    Any Wii Fit Users??

    I really enjoy having something that I can do on the days that I am not at the gym that gets me moving and is fun and I am able to laugh my way through. And in all truth I feel it when I have done any real time with it. My arms are sore the next day after tennis or boxing. :confused:

    Whomever recomended WII Outdoor Adventure

    I am really excited now! I have wanted something fun to do on the days I don't get to go and workout and something that offers more than just watching the same people do the same thing. With this even though it is the same game you change and get better and can interact with it. That is one of the reasons I like the wii sports now, because I am moving jumping around and can interact with the "players":thumbup:

    Any Wii Fit Users??

    help me out here, I have the wii and am planning on getting the wii fit this next month but could you explain the mii??? I have seen it on the wii menu but now i only do wii sports because I can only get to it when the kids are busy doing something else. LOL!

    Whomever recomended WII Outdoor Adventure

    Do you need the wii fitness to use the outdoor adventure? I got my sons the wii for Christmas but do not have the fitness or balance board yet so just wondering if I need to get both or get one then the other. I was already planning on getting the wii fitness this January.

    Solids Stage Recipes

    I took this and refined it to another beef cut and my family loved it Changed tenderloin to tenderized round steak the dry red wine to beef broth (I had no wine on hand) and used country bob steak sauce and then I simmered the cooked steaks in the sauce and onion mix for about an hour on very low heat.:frown: I love trying new ways to cook the everyday things we eat.

    Soda

    Everyones doc gives such different advice, my doc has no restrictions on soda other than it has to be diet soda. I still drink soda but have cut my addiction from 4 dt. dr peppers down to 1 or 2 a day. Still not great but much better.

    Wow weight is dropping off

    If you are feeling dizzy or lightheaded I would be sure that you are getting enough protein each day. I am 1 1/2 yrs out and I am half way to my goal but I can always tell days that I do not get enough protein because I have the same type of things, dizziness, headaches and not feeling like myself. Congrats to everyone on how well you all are doing and for having the courage to go down this lapband road, it is not a strait flat road but a beautiful trip down a bending, winding, raising and falling road. So enjoy the trip, look around and take a deep calming breath.:frown:
  10. I have to agree with the general feeling, go to your doc and talk honestly about how you are feeling, how hard things have been going and how frustrated you are feeling. The staff should be there to help you not make this journey harder.:frown:

    Valentine's Day Weight Loss Challenge/goals

    Please count me in I need this so bad! This came at a perfect time. I am setting a goal of 15# by Valentines Day. That would put me at 175#, which is lower than I remember ever being.
  12. Have you talked to your Dr. about this? In my case my support group and one of the nurses from where I had surgery have been a God send. I like having someone who has been there to talk too, they can put into perspective what I feel and most of the time I come away feeling so much better.

  14. We live to far from any real town to purchase a gym membership. So I have a gazelle at home, I also walk and do water aerobics when the weather is good. I would love to have a curves close by but the closest is 6o minutes away. I do have access to the equipment at the school, but they are only open for a limited time frame each day and with my work it does not mesh for me. So I do the home workouts. I really do enjoy being able to do things on my time, be it mid morning or in the evenings.

    Hi

    For 10 days I am going to totally focus on what I am eating, at least 3oz of protein for my 3 meals plus steamed veggies. No snacks or if I appsolutly need something sweet then ff jello or pudding pops. I am taking my vitamins each day plus I take a protein suppliment each day. And my (LEAST) most favorite 30 minutes of excercise each day. By setting a 10 day goal I have a reachable end I can get to.
  16. My port is on my left side, just under my rib cage. I can feel mine but it does not stick out yet, hopefully as I loose more it does not bulge out horribly but I will not mind at all, small sacrifices.

    Hi

    Hello everyone! Good Morning and I hope everyone is going to have a great weekend. I was banded June 07 and I am down 50#, for me my biggest thing was real life. Job, family, life in general. I still eat small portions but I do not get out and move enough. I recommitted to myself though, I have started a 10day "diet" to break through the plateau that I have been stuck on and I hope that kicks my loosing into gear again. I know that I am not going to go back to the big # that I had at the beginning but a nice steady slow slide down would be great.:tongue2: I need also to get back to my doc and get a fill, but he is about an hour and half away and only comes once a month on Mondays. So I am not going to be able to get there for awhile. We are in the middle of corn harvest so I can not take the day to go to doc till we are done. My hubby and I run the elevator that the farmers bring the grain to. I work the elevator office Mon-Wed and then work at a nursing home Thur-Sat. We only have the elevator open during harvest so it is a very seasonal thing.

    June 2007 Bandsters

    Hello to everyone, I can't speak for everyone but I have to admit I stopped checking in when I stopped losing but I am recommitting to myself. I have been at the same weight for about 5 months now and am going crazy. I have been in the 190-185 range forever. I am in a size 14 or a Large but I am so ready to kick it in gear. I was looking through the past posts and ran into the "diet" to follow for 10 days to break the plateau and I am going to start that and hopefully that will kick start my matabolism again. I so understand the sweet thing that everyone here seems to be or has been fighting. They are a stress thing for me, after a hard day at work I just want to grab and enjoy not put up with thinking about what I should be or should not be having. That has to stop here and now. Well I hope to see everyone around on a more consistant basis . I sure do miss everyones kind words and encouragement. Bless you all!:thumbdown:

    I did it! Surgery was a success!

    Congrats I am so glad that everything is going so good for you! Time goes so quickly, enjoy each new day! I had my surgery in June of 07 and am down 45# so far so just take it one day, one meal, one moment at a time. Again Congrats!!!

    Just wondering?

    Each doctor has different guide lines that you follow so it is very important for you to follow what he/she recommends for the surgery but that being said I had surgery in June of 07 and only had to stay away from carbinated drinks and caffine for 1 month. I have had no problem drinking my diet dr. pepper. I did cut way down on the amount of sodas that I drink in a day, substituting water for some of my soda. But many of the women in my support group that I go to could not drink soda again, it made them fill with gas the carbination in the drinks filled the pouch up and made them too uncomfortable. So I think past the doctors recommendations it is a very individual issue.

    January Exercise - HAPPY NEW YEAR! :)

    This is so much just what I need to stay on track. I have been so bad the last 3 months with exercising and making good choices. October was harvest, November is 2 birthdays and Thanksgiving, and December is 3 birthdays, Christmas and New Years. My goal for the Year is to reach my Goal~~I will lose the 60# to reach goal!!! I do not belong to a gym but walk lots, have a gazelle, and like to do things outside as much as possible.

    August Exercise Challenge

    Well I figured that if I tried it out for the first time with the kids (ages 15, 15, and 8) then they could not look too much worse than me, LOL! My 2 have never golfed before either so we all were pretty funny to watch. I never dreamed a little white ball could be so hard to hit, I mean it is just a little bitty ball and I have this great big club right???? And I figured by going on a Monday just after noon not that many people could be out to see us right??? We only had 2 other golf carts out when we were so I guess that is not to bad. I really did have fun with them though. I would have never tried this 6 months or a year ago. Not brave enough to drag myself out to do something I have never ever even thought about before. Would have worried what people would have thought about it. But no more. who cares and I spend such a great time with my boys!

    Junies in Vegas 2008

    Love the sounds of this, either April-May or later Sept-Oct would be great for me. Later in the year would give me a chance to save more money to go on but that would be a minor thing. I would be going alone because my hubby hates crowds with a passion. So if anyone else wants to bunk together let me know.
