    Bad Days

the only other thing I can suggest is to go on a carb cleansing diet. I know when I eat too many carbs I tend to start craving them. If I go back to high protein and get past the 1st set of withdrawals I do better.

    Its So Hard!

Pre-op diet is much harder then post-op, at least for me. Pre-op you can still eat you are just relying on will power, post-op you cant eat. Much easier post-op. Hang in there and do your best!

    Defeated After 4 Months?

Hi, i am 3 wks post-op and no regrets to date. I do know that all my research showed that you could fail on this procedure. It is not a miracle cure. You still have to eat the right things and exercise. You can definitely put your weight back on. I finally decided to do it because of the jump start it could give me and the smaller stomach. I had yo-yo'd my entire life and I believe one of the reasons was my stomach. Of course the biggest reason was my emotional eating but having a stomach that was never filled up was hard to battle. The sleeve will eventually stretch for all, this is how we will finally be able to eat enough to get on a maintenance plan. This is my personal opinion. Just realise this will take effort on your part and dont give up.. GOOD LUCK

    Any Regrets? I Do ..

so sorry it has been a harder road for you. My only regret is not doing something like this 20 years ago. Just stay in touch with your Dr and follow his orders. It will get better. I am pretty sure it wont be long until you change your mind on the regrets GL

    I Am Not Losing!

me too surgery on 10/16, lost 14lbls in 2weeks, lost nothing this past week. I was starting to get depressed.. I knew if I came out to the forum and searched I would find help. So will just hang in there and believe in my upcoming success Thanks all for your words of wisdom
  7. i hear you.. I wish they would ban food commercials.. It isnt that I am hungry, but I am still dealing with the emotional attachments.

    Dizzy

if it is not an isolated event you should check with dr.. could be blood pressure, could be dehydration, could be low blood sugar..
  9. the key to lowering the hunger pains is low carbs high protein. I also drink Unjury. It is pretty good for a protein drink. preop diet is not easy.. Just do the best you can.. Once you have surgery it gets a little easier, or at least it did for me

    Post-Op Full Liquids...

I have drank gallons of sugar free hot choco over the years.. I am used to it.. If you can tolerate other sugar free drinks, you should like that too..
  11. I was a prepay becise my Insurance did not cover WLS procedures. I had my surgery in the U.S @ Laredo Tx. Price was total $8500.. If you want inexpensive, high quality and still stay in the U.S. try Dr. Morris throught the Laredo Surgical Center. My brother also used him and he has no regrets.
  12. That is what helped me finally make the decision to do the surgery - I could diet and lose weight but the hunger NEVER went away! Having a 4-6 oz stomach for awhile will help me lose the weight without constantly being reminded I am hungry. I am seeing a counselor too. I hope that by the time my stomach gets a little bigger I will have the emotional issues under control. I am 55 and in my mind, this is my last big chance to get this under control. So currently, no real physical hunger, still some emotional cravings, but i am already moving around better after approx 30lbs and I should be able to start dumping some of these meds I have been on. GOOD LUCK TO YOU

    Body Pains

It sounds like the pain I experienced with the gas they used to blow me up for the surgery! It was very bad.. I am goin gto say it took a good 8-10 days to go away totally.. I am on day 14 and I have no pain. I never had any pains with the wounds, it was my BAck, chest, and shoulders.. The pain meds did take the edge off a little. Hang in there.. It will get better soon

    Unhappy With My Body.

Sort of damned if you damned if you dont.. I am a lot older but I am going to have the same body issues. All I can say is you can fix the boob issues and live a long, happy, healthy life. ALl boob jobs do not look fake. Find a good Dr and dont go overly big. the only other thing I can say, is I wish I was 20 again and getting this all done.. I am upset at myself because I waited so long(55). My main reason for doing this is health, longevity, and too look better in clothes.. Good Luck with it all.
  15. I have seen a lot about dehydration vs hunger signals. Supposedly most hunger signals are actually signals of needing fluids.. Google it if interested people often mistake thirst for hunger, and thus eat foods that are rich in Water or more food in general. Thus it is recommended to drink a glass of water before eating in order to distinguish between true hunger and thirst.
  16. well done! 8 days post op here.. Stories like yours keeps me strong and excited about what I have to look forward to.

    Down In The Dumps!

I understand the fear of failing. I am like man, if I fail after this, there is nothing else to do.. Coming out here and reading posts and blogs and forums have helped me. It sounds like you are doing wonderful! My brother did this in dec 2011 and he has lost over 120 lbs.. All I hang on to is that every pound I lose will increase my lifespan and quality of life. GOOD LUCK!
  18. I had no real pain from the actual surgery but had HORRIBLE pain from the gas they had to use to inflate the area for surgery. It was in my chest, back, and shoulders.. Walking will help. I had to take the liquid pain meds once i got home for about 3days. Still a small amount of discomfort in the shoulder. It will get better.. Hang in there

    No -One Responds!

I had surgery on 10/16 and will be going back to work tomorrow 10/24. I work in an office and should be ok. I hope so, I dont have any more vacation to use. My Dr. required I stay overnight. If I had not walked and drank enough he would have insisted on one more night, Good Luck!
