Just realized I didn't give my stats... I am 5'5" and I weighed 271 prior to my 2 week pre-op diet, 256 on the day of surgery (09/24/12), and I am currently 240.

Well my surgery went fine... However, today I woke up feeling dizzy and tired... I think I may be slightly dehydrated and I am going to try get some serious fluids in! Cause this feels horrible...

I had my sleeve on Monday and right now the only time I am in pain is when I am in transition from sitting to standing or moving around when laying in bed... My stomach is very tender above the incisions and there is a sharp pain when I swallow.. But I think that is because my swallows are too big.. I am working on sipping... Oh and there is pain around the drainage tube hole.... I can not wait to get rid of this thing!!!!

So, I've made it through the approval process and will have surgery 09/24. I'm on my preop diet and things are going fine... I'm constantly hungry, but I'm coping! (sugar free Jello and sugar free Popsicles are my saving grace) but this isn't what I'm soooo stressed about!! I'm 29 and I currently weigh 260 at 5'5" (that's 11 lbs less than my highest... Thank you preop diet) and I am scared out of my mind that I will lose all this weight and have huge amounts of ugly loose skin... I need to know what I can do to prevent some of this??? I hope this doesn't sound horribly vain.. But I'm single now (partially because I am sooo unhappy with my size that I don't like to go out.... Or maybe it's because I am so self conscience about being too large to find that special someone) but my fear is that having the lose skin will make these matters worse!!! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!! I think about this quite often and I just need to know what others have done or are doing now...

You are totally right!!!! This is going to bring more happiness than I could ever imagine... So why worry about something that might not even happen (or be as bad as I am thinking) I already take good care of my skin.. So I will just keep this up, maybe visit the Vitamin shopw for the stuff you mentioned and then be serious about toning... So much to think about!!! And all of it is exciting-- I have a chance to start over and I just need to relax and stop letting outsiders create such worry in my mind!! (yea I left that part out... My close friend is the one creating this worry)

Yea... I am hoping my skin will recover and I'm seriously hoping I don't have to resort to another surgery... But it might have to happen...

Thanks for the encouragement Mel!! Cause right now I am sooo hungry! Does it get any easier? Did you have headaches?

It's ok!!! We'll make it through!!! It will all be worth it 2 weeks from now!!! I gotta focus on the big picture

I started my pre-op diet today and I am starving... I'm pretty sure that I have the worst hunger headache right now!!! I just keep thinking that this too shall pace... Enjoy those last meals!!

My surgery is the same day with Dr. Malley in Kansas City, MO!!!

Congrats!!! I'm sure your not alone when it comes to missing food, but the day is coming to a close soon enough and this will be nothing more than a distant memory!!! Focus on the pounds falling off!!! You got this you've made it this long it's just a few more hours!!!!

I take my calcium with food (obviously before i start my actual preop diet) or when I am halfway through my protein shake and that has seemed to help with nausea...

My surgeon's office called today to tell me that I was approved for the sleeve!!!! And it only took them 3 days to approve it!!! I can barely concentrate right now!!! Preop diet here I come... Even as exciting as this is... I am slightly nervous, because this is totally real now! I am less that 30 days from having a new lease on life! I am hoping this pre-op diet won't be too painful, but I will do whatever it takes! Any and all pointers or tips are welcomed! Prayers go up... Blessings come down!

Girl!!! I jut had all my paper work turned into the insurance company yesterday and there was an instant feeling of relief!! Don't let this get you too upset, becuase you are soo close to the finish line!! All of this will be a mere memory soon enough!! I'll send some prayers up on your behalf!! And congrats on the 8lbs down...That's awesome

Anxious— that is how I would describe my mood these past couple of days! I had my final medically supervised diet visit this past Friday and I believe that all of my documents were submitted to the insurance company for review today! My surgeon’s office seems to think there is no reason for me to be worried about approval, but for whatever reason I can’t stop thinking that an insurance adjuster/claim reviewer could hinder me from getting a new lease on life… Crazy how this insurance stuff works, but there is really no reason to fret or dwell on the situation because it is totally out of my hands  I know that my God is bigger than any insurance company and I have given the worry over to Him… I hope this approval comes quickly  Do not be anxious about anything but in every situation by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving present your requests to God and the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
