So, I had my pre-op appointment today, surgery in three weeks. Already a little stressy. We went over my body scan and I am 48% fat. I could see my tiny little skeleton inside my gigantic blubbery self. Getting upset. Go over my labs and my bone density scan. I've shrunk an inch in the last two years and broke my ankle jogging last October, but my PCP repeatedly tells me that my Calcium levels aren't a big deal, take a multi-Vitamin. Today I hear that I have osteopenia (pre-osteoperosis) and am .02% bone loss away from needing Boniva or something. Why didn't anyone tell me before?!? I'm only 32 for goodness sakes. Just a little upset, thanks for listening.

Just got back from Hawaii where I fell off a rock. Thankfully my hubbala caught me or I might have a busted head. Bruises, scrapes, and a pretty gnarly sprain, but no broken bones. Things are looking up

The test says Hologic, it is a body composition test with really detailed color printouts. It is actually really neat. I am glad to know I'm not crazy, though fragile seems as bad. I really appreciate the doctor leveling with me today.

The Isopure is pretty flavorful. I had to do 1/2 water 1/2 drink. Still 20 grams of protein and it lasts a tad longer.

I have the same problem except that I'm a fan of the bubbly waters. No calories but still a no-go.

Yeppers, my grandmother. Except the year I was diagnosed with breast cancer. That year she sent chocolate. lol

I went to my local Vitamin Shoppe and bought one of every low-carb Protein powder that they had sample-sizes for. Tastes change after surgery, and I want to be very specific when sending my husband out for supplies. You might want to hold off on the cheeses and meats, from what I understand you won't be able to eat them for a bit. It would be awful to go in to have your first bite of mushies and have it be icky.

I told my husband that it was a fat woman's duty to have panty lines so no one would stand behind me wondering in horror if I was going commando. After the sleeve helps me finally lose the weight... still no. Good luck on Wednesday!

I heard back from regular BCBS about a week after my paperwork was submitted. They are even setting me up with a dietician afterwards. Hope you get the good news soon!

After my hysterectomy I asked the obgyn how soon we could "seal the deal". He asked me how fast I could drive home. Just take it slow and listen to your body.

I'm only taking a few days off, but only because I do a desk job and can work from home. Don't be a hero, take the time you need to be 100%.

My patient care advocate called me today about the surgery. She reminded me to ask anyone who is doing anything with me if they have washed their hands. If you're sleeping your companion (hubby/friend) can ask on your behalf. It is your right to know, no medical professional should be offended.
