  1. The forums are riddled with posts about stalling around the two-week mark. Most are followed up a month or so later with "I lost a ton of weight" updates. Let your body adjust and don't panic! It's a marathon, not a sprint.

    No Drain?

I was told that my surgeon rarely uses a drain. I've had two for previous surgeries and hated them.

    I Hate My Pre-Op Diet!

I still stink at planning. Popped into the office (usually work from home) and only took one shake with me. Five hours later I was getting wobbly in Home Depot. Thank goodness there was a GNC nearby so I could grab an Isopure! Tonight we actually went to dinner: baby greens salad, no dressing.

    Effexor And Surgery

I've tried going off Effexor on my own, don't do it! Even one day missed makes me a wreck, like crying in the produce section.

    I Hate My Pre-Op Diet!

I refuse to eat another proti-puff. I will be down 1/8 of my pre-op protien for a week but I don't care. They taste like someone got "romantic" with a bag of Kix cereal.
  6. I don't have surgery until next week, but I've been doing Water aerobics in preparation. Between the pre-pre-op diet, pre-op diet, and knowing that I'll be able to keep it off this time, I shrunk out of my bathing suit bottom! I finished the routine with one hand around my waistband. Not giving up yet.

This May Be Inappropriate, Forgive Me :)

Well, that was the point when the trilogy started to turn around, so yeah
  8. This one cracked up Hubby: I want to go streaking without my thighs slapping together.

    October Sleevers! Announce Yourselves

    This just made my day!
  10. My surgeon tried to talk me into a rny, but because my husband is a baker. Once I found out about the sleeve I knew it was right for my future. Stick to your guns and get what you want.

    I Hate My Pre-Op Diet!

Hubby had a steak for dinner tonight. Almost slapped him with it

    I Hate My Pre-Op Diet!

And I would punch someone square in the mouth for some ceviche right now.

    Hungry

It sounds like you know what your opportunities are. Take charge of your eating and change what you need to change. Checking in with your surgeon couldn't hurt either.
  14. I want to wear a dress without shorts underneath. Maybe try surfing again.

    I Hate My Pre-Op Diet!

Veggies and salad are saving me. I'm not hungry and all this protein is hard to get down. At least I can dump some celery into my broth.

    Ladies What Is Your Type?

I thought I was a pear, but the NUT declared me a solid apple. Today I feel like a kiwi.

Weight Loss Surgery Books Pre And Post

I read Before and After on my Nook, it was pretty interesting. I'm looking into print cookbooks; I guess I'm too old to use a screen in the kitchen.
  18. Sounds like you may be replacing fat with muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat, but once you've got enough the scale will plummet. Keep up the good fight!

    Telling Family

I was afraid to tell my father, but he was really supportive. Maybe too supportive...

    Meal Planning Advice

I've been on my pre-op diet for a whole two days now, and the big challenge seems to be planning and timing my "meals". I want to have a plan in place before I get back to eating "real" food. Any tips/strategies/worksheets to share?

    Oatmeal On The Puree Diet?

I am still pre-op, but before I would doctor up my oatmeal with a scoop of vanilla protien powder. Definitely add extra water, it made it sorta gloopy.

    Magic Bullet

I picked up a Bella bullet~type blender at Target for about $17 (on clearance) in purple. So far I'm using it to blend ice into my pre-op diet. We also picked up an immersion blender for post-op for larger quantities.

    Thanksgiving

I cook Thanksgiving dinner every year, and this year it will be less than two months after my surgery. I'm planning on having a bit of turkey (if I can tolerate it) and mashed cauliflower instead of potatoes. I think my splurge will be a bite of pumpkin pie.
