My husbean and I have collectively discarded over 80 pounds. While neither of us is near goal, logistically it makes a HUGE difference.

October Sleevers! Announce Yourselves
cherrybombknits replied to SkinnyMinnie2Be's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I make sure to start the day with 16 ounces of hot herbal tea. Two cups before breakfast. -
The last few days I have been dreading my multivitamin for some reason, they just kept feeling ickier and ickier. Today I chewed them up, swallowed, and immediately felt like I was going to vomit. I was in the middle of a conference call or I would have. Has anyone else lost their tolerance for the chewable vitamins? What happens now?

What Is The Name Of Your Sleeve?
cherrybombknits replied to cmaloney's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sleeven Colbert. -
I think it is forever, your stomach is pretty much set. Don't think of it as applesauce, think of it as throughly chewed.

How Did You Set Your Goal Weight?
cherrybombknits replied to Raven21's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I remembered being 140 a lifetime ago and being very happy with myself at that weight. Not too thin not too fat. It is in the upper third of normal BMI for me. 110-120 would probably be reasonable, I'll see when I get there. -
1 month today :-) I am happy, comfortable, and consistantly losing.

The VSG forums are a great resource, but what do you do if the internet goes down?!? In other words, what are you go-to WL books? Recipe, inspirational, funny, whatever helps you out.

Very Upset Right Now
cherrybombknits replied to newgrandmother's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If I were her (of course I'm not), I would have asked the OP to come see me if she wanted help once she could exercise. What's the point of giving someone crappé for something over and done? Trainer could have gotten another client and success story instead of being a jerk. -
October Sleevers! Announce Yourselves
cherrybombknits replied to SkinnyMinnie2Be's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Today is my one month surgiversary and I have lost 17 pounds, 40 since starting the process in July. I was feeling like a slow loser for a second, then I felt my legs. Water aerobics and jogging are melting my saddlebags and little pot belly and leaving muscle in their wake. After all the stress of the procedure I am finally feeling normal and going back to doing my everyday routine, but now with more energy. Sorry this post was so long, I'm just having a great morning. -
A few months ago I sent my favorite hand-knit sweater through the dryer and, well, it shrunk/felted/broke my heart. I bought some yarn and I intend on making the pattern again (the Dollar-and-a-Half Cardigan by Interweave Knits) out of a cotton blend this time. I'd like to start knitting it now, but I have no idea what size to make. I will be 225 by my surgery date (next week, eek!) and hope to be down to 140 by next year. Any advice? I also found this fantastic cloth to make a skirt, but I'm holding off so I don't make something that I will be swimming in by winter. Is anyone else experiencing this type of frustration?

Those Who Have Gotten In Shape And Have Ran 5Ks
cherrybombknits replied to iceshayw's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I'm doing c25k and will probably be on week one for a bit. I have a goal of doing an actual 5k in early February. They have a ton of themed runs in my area and they look really fun. -
Very Upset Right Now

We've tried all that. How long will those 6's stay 6's? I don't wish any harm, but we're not here because we can't lose the weight. We're here because the darn pounds sneak back and bring buddies. This isn't for a cruise or a wedding, this is for life. I want something I can sustain on my own, don't you? -
3 Days Post-Op And Can Drink As Much As I Want. I Don't Think This Is Normal.
cherrybombknits replied to WestTexasGal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You're normal, or at least your sleeve is I went from downing Protein shakes to barely eating 2 oz of solid food. The more substantial it is the sooner you'll be full. Pro Tip: weigh out your food starting with mushies. It's easy to go from eating to yakking in just a few bites. -
Aches And Pains Of The Fatlife!
cherrybombknits replied to Luckystar12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Absolutely! I'm also not hot-flashing like I used to. It's a gentle warm nudge instead of a hot sledgehammer to the face. -
That's what I did too. You'll do great!

I am more and more convinced that some of these doctors lack people skills. You are doing a fantastic job at the right pace for you.

To Those That Are Post-Op...2 Questions From An "undecided"
cherrybombknits replied to GirlOnFire's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would tell myself to calm down. The physical side of the process is easier than I thought it would be. The mental side that thought it was prepared has been much harder. Turns out I have a LOT of unresolved anger that I actually need to work on now because I can't eat it away. Regrets come and go, like not knowing what to do with myself at a party around the food platters. They have all been situational and pass as quickly as they come on. -
Chewing is important because your new tummy doesn't have the room to process your food like it used to. By chewing thoroughly you give the digestion process a head start. My doc suggested 30 times or until it is the consistancy of applesauce. I don't always count, but I know when the food feels right.

Opps! Too Much Food!?
cherrybombknits replied to Brandywine's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've figured out I can handle 4oz liquids or 2oz solids at a time. I have a hard time eyeballing it when I'm out. Might have to get one of those "drug dealer" scales hidden inside a cd case to carry with me. -

4 Month Anniversary: Embarassed About Weight Loss
cherrybombknits replied to ShannonK's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I lost an inch a few years after cancer treatments. Turns out I would have been under 40 BMI with the extra inch. Still mad as heck.
